What I understood is that Bhiron and Sumitra wanted to leave because their role was stagnating, now the news of Basant's role ending is a bit strange,we as viewers can accept one character going off (for eg Anandi's devar Mahi went off or his incomplete love story with Ashima)
But the entire jaitsar familys' senior characters leaving is a bit odd.
Btw why is Basant's character ending ?any inputs by anyone ?

As per articles, they have told that Basant's character is not contributing much to the story. Hence they are bumping him off. But what is the need when the actor had no problem with his screen space and also Jaitsar family is very much reduced now. No senior male member at all and only jagya remains.

Is his salary so high that they want to save money from his salary? What is the screen space he used to get anyway! 😕

For whatever reasons they may have shown his death, but it does make sense.

CVs in a way have shown that 'what goes around comes around'.

You cant hurt people, make them die before your eyes and then expect to be forgiven simply by saying sorry.

dadisa had killed his first wife, then she bought gehna who was young enough to be her son's daughter... how can such acts be forgiven with a sorry??.

Though I feel sad for gehna, I feel CVs did the right thing by killing Basant.

No doubt the actor playing Basant is a great actor. He is part of Singh family but his character never contributed anything to the main story i.e story of Anandi or to the story of Jagya right from the beginning of the story like Sumi and Basant did.His stories were mainly spin offs from the main story rather than being part of the story. In that way his character got a lot of mileage. He had many tracks for himself.
Bit the show and he benefitted a lot from each other.
So I don't think he got a bad deal at all.

No idea. But even if his character was not adding value, they could have just kept him for name sake, particularly if the actor didn't object about his screen space. And anyways off-late he barely got any screen space, so I am wondering if he was that an expensive actor that even the tiny bit of screen-space would save CVs a huge cost.

As per the story, Basant should have remained because there is no senior male in the house. His presence as an elder son, father, husband and uncle has a great impact in making the family feel complete and secure.

It's sad that Ds have lost both her sons. Hard to imagine her without either of them. Feel sorry for J too, as the poor fellow will have added responsibilities to bear even on home front now. Basant's and Bhairon's absence will exert too many responsibilities on JaGan. Already both of them have tough professional and personal lives.

Let's see what unfold. If this track gives new life and wings to Gehna, it would be good to watch. A mother of two very young kids managing her way would be nice to watch.

Yes Missesha!! It would be lovely.. In the 6 years history.. i dont remember BV showing a single mother struggling to make ends meet and raising as a winner. This would be nice to show.

There was nothing more to show in Basant's story...and i think that was the reason they decided to end his charecter.
he was a reformed person, with a nice family life..complete with wife and kids...nothing left on the hubby wife front, and recently they did show some nice scenes between nandu and him, kind of showing the postive father son bonding.
yes, i agree they could have just kept him in background, since the actor was ok with it, but i think they did this to give Gehna a story.
i would really like to see Gehna taking the reins of family business, and managing it on her own. Jagya and Ganga both have their hands full on professional and personal front.
and i dont want her to be remarried, they have shown almost all the females in the series getting second chance in life and leading it happily...with exception of phooli and Gauri i guess. Phooli, i think her story ended with anandi getting her out of nath wedding and Gauri we still wait for a closure.
It would be nice to see Gehna managing business and kids and getting back to being that strong Gehna she once was. and come to think of it, Gehna really doesnt need a marriage now in her life, i mean not even from a jeevansathi point of view. She has her kids, with nandu pretty grown up and a strong family support.

Even I don't want Gehna's re-marriage.
She can become another dadisa but with less autocracy and more leadership skills. She can become another DS who needs no man to raise her kids. Ds never had anyone to support her, but Gehna has DS and JaGan, plus a mature nandu.
Since Basant and Bhairon are not there to run the business, and since J cannot, due to his already existing professions then its best Gehna and Ds are shown to be taking it over. With DS to guide and Gehna to execute, they will make a good jodi. Jagya can also be shown to give innovative ides to Gehna to help her get that experience.
If Basant is removed to give Gehna a story then it does make sense. Had he been in the background, then gehna could not have got a long-lasting story of her own.
His death, forcefully opens new doors for Gehna

One thing the character's contribution to the story is minimal and they have shown a lot of things through that character. So it is not injustice there.
His exit will pave story for Gehna. She is a single mother with two children.
Going by the way how she has been helping Basant taking care of the family business and looking into accounts - Gehna taking charge of family business and running it is a big possibility and it makes a good story too - Women empowerment in the truest sense.Gehna becoming right hand of DS is a good development which may not have happen if Basant has been on the scene.

Basant's exit may also mean that Jagya becoming the man of the family and taking responsibility of things and family.

But instead of dying in an accident it would have been better if he died of an age related illness since he has been shown to have problems like blood pressure. It would have completed the story of age mismatched couple

As for the actor being expensive - we don't know what kind of contracts they have with PH. The newer cast members are apparently paid according to the no of days they shoot as opposed to the older cast who apparently are paid on monthly basis. So when they are not able to utilse the actor's time why waste his time and their money?
