Indians still continue to take pride in the fact their most commonly discussed neighbours, the Pakistanis can do anything to lay their hands on the pirated copy of a latest Bollywood flick. But, they've failed to notice that women back home have been recording each episode of hit Pakistani TV series, Zindagi Gulzar Hai, which is currently airing on Zindagi and is scheduled to end on Friday, July 19.
The unlucky lot of Indians, who haven't had the chance to watch even a single episode, we are discussing one of the most commercially successful shows in the history of Pakistan television, which has become one of the most talked about shows in India, thanks to Sanam Saeed's intense portrayal of Kashaf Murtaza and the flambouyant act of Fawad Khan, who plays Zaroon Junaid in the hit series.
Based on a popular novel by the same name, written by famous Pakistani writer, Umera Ahmad, the YouTube episodes of the show have gone viral, since men can't have enough of Kashaf and women are going weak in their knees, thanks to Zaroon. And if you missed this gem, which came straight from Karachi, we take you through some of the most loving moments between the hit onscreen couple, along with a summary of the show.
Click further to get firsthand experience of love, Pakistani style!
1. The serial's story revolves around the lives of Kashaf Murtaza (Sanam Saeed) and Zaroon Junaid (Fawad Afzal Khan), who are poles apart, yet get married to each other as they
have an unsaid attraction for each other, which they constantly deny. Each episode is a lesson for Indian serial makers to learn how to showcase love in its true subtlety. The first few encounters of the couple are enough to tell us that the duo have a strange chemistry, which might gradually convert into love.
2. Zaroon's flirtations and Kashaf's resistance is what made the serial an instant hit with Indian audience. The scene where Zaroon asks Kashaf if he can sit with her is an example of the fact Pakistan's youth breaking away from the shackles of tradition and mixing with their opposite sex.
3. Bringing gifts for Kashaf from Dubai was Zaroon's way of breaking the ice with Kashaf, alas the gifts were not accepted, but that didn't deter the handsome man from approaching Kashaf again.
4. Fighting at every possible instance during college days, passing out from the university amid great misunderstandings, cracking government service exams respectively and bumping
into each other yet again, there couldn't have been better beginning of a love story!
5. Zaroon's second attempt at wooing Kashaf at Sir Abrar's house was what memorable scenes are made of.
6. The proposal at Sir Abrar's house and the fact that Zaroon burnt his hand in the process of saving Kashaf's hand was the beginning of their love story.
7. Getting married despite the stark differences in their family backgrounds was an indication that like Indian, the Pakistani society is also moving ahead from the class divides.
8. Confessing his affection to Kashaf on the first night amid complete awkwardness, forgetting where he had kept the ring, watching Zaroon lose his mind in presence of Kashaf was pure
bliss.
9. The couple's first dinner date, overlooking a serene lake was reminiscent of a Karan Johar film.
10. Spending a night at Kashaf's humble house despite of not being used to the middle class lifestyle.
11. Having those seemingly irrelevant ye interesting conversations under the moonlight, when the Murtaza household is bearing the brunt of a power cut is the way Pakistanis fall in love.
12. The couple's numerous fights and patch ups.
13. The scene where Kashaf is sewing the broken button of Zaroon's shirt and the romantic exchange of glances between Zaroon and Kashaf was enough to make women go weak in their knees.
14. Zaroon's first act of offering money to his lawfully wedded wife, Kashaf brought tears to her eyes and it was equally emotional for the viewers.
15. Kashaf holding the teacup against Zaroon's murmuring lips is pure poetry.
16. Going out with Kashaf post marriage and asking her if she's happy with him is what Zaroon Junaid is all about.
17. Holding hands while walking through the night bazaar and sharing pop corns, that was the first time we got the feel of Mr and Mrs Junaid together.
18. Not talking for days over Osama's confession that he was the first one to propose Kashaf and then gulping down the happy news of Kashaf's pregnancy, those few episodes were enough to show the acting prowess of Fawas Khan aka Zaroon.
19. Bonding over as trivial as something like gardening.
20. The scene where Kashaf confesses her love to Zaroon in the last episode for the the first time in the entire series would definitely be the best way to end the series, which made Indians realise that Pakistanis are way better than Indians, when it comes to making TV dramas.
