Dear RR family,

Today's episode though hilarious, I couldn't digest the fact the way Shatabti got married...Seriously her parents just want her to get married coz she is 31??? to any person and just send her away...

Are ladies such a burden for them over certain age limit that they don't care about what type of partner she is getting or what life she will be living after marriage...or can't she just be independent if unmarried???

Healthy discussions welcome...

Yes, I agree!! Even I'm 31 and the pressure is getting even more especially when others are getting married before me!! 😆 It's too much pressure!! 😒 I just don't know what to do anymore!! 😭

I agree, I had to fight my dad that rather than compromise or settle for someone, I preferred being single. His main concern was after he is gone, who would be there with me? I am now 37,still single by choice. My dad is my support system, he said to me the day I am ready to adopt, he will support me then too.

In a male dominated society yes marriage is the most important thing in a woman's life, A man can stay unmarried till he wants or fits to get married, but a woman unmarried and has crossed 30 yrs of age it becomes taboo, this is quite a sad reality of our male dominated society.

I agree! Though I'm just 20 now, I intend to be single all my life. But I know I'll have a hard time with my parents to get them to agree to that, and even if and when they do, they're never going to do it whole-heartedly. I casually told my Mom about my life plans the other day, how I was not gonna marry but adopt two children instead and she was like "Everyone thinks like that, but when you grow old you'll need someone to depend on." Then she said, "We'll see when the time comes, it's too early to decide now". And from her expressions I could see that she didn't want to put me off but didn't support me either!

I think in all this, society plays a big role. Earlier I used to think it was about income and all too but it's not. Most girls today earn a decent amount and can fend for themselves, still they are pressurised for marriage.
