Its just a simple joke and it doesn't hurt anyone's sentiment. Its okay itna to chalta hi hai. After all she was the pioneer of soap series in India.

The questions on nobody knowing about Durga's death and Dayal's past are legit. I want an explanation for them too.

Dev is a curious case! Even his lack of contact in last 2 years is poorly explained, his cluelessness about exact mess made by Goenkas and Sakshi's bad behaviour towards his mother need to be accounted for.

As for face, Nitya and Durga looked kind of alike hence surgery is rather believable. Not an entire contrast like most films and serials. Like Sneha Ullal resembles Aishwarya!

Voices are at times not recognisable. Goenkas must have ignored (they treat poor people like garbage anyway). Dev is clueless about several things so I expect less from him. Even Kabir Bedi was unable to recognise Rekha after a mere makeover in Khoon bhari maang.😆

I expect only someone close like a parent or sibling to recognise Nitya. Payal is still recovering from mental damage so this is why she does not recognise her. She does "feel" her and addressed her as Nitya di once.
