Hope they select a great actress as Draupadi. And portray her like she is in the epic, and NOT like she is on the mindset of common people, like a vile, arrogant woman, who threw things at her husbands.

A part of me wants to see Pooja again 😛, but I don't want her to do Panchaali's role twice.

Though, to be honest, I can't think of a Bollywood actress that could do justice to Panchaali's role.

To be very honest I don't think Bollywood can do justice with Epic and the Characters . Though Mahabharat is in demand but no way it can be transformed into a Six hours movie .
Thanks for Sharing.

Completely agree with u.
I cannot think of ANY actress who has the dignity and personality that Draupadi had.
Kareena Kapoor somewat fits the role, since Kareena has a fiery appeal. But she is too fair to play Draupadi.
Pooja is perfect as Draupadi.
Although, at times, she is a bit inconsistent, but when she does well, she outshines almost everyone.

Seriously no one from bollywood should be in these roles, they carry so much political celebrity status/baggage with them
Choosing non-mainstream actors, or theatre actors to try out the roles would be the way to go, go through proper auditioning with people outside the bollywood canon, so the focus is on the actual characters and the acting, these characters arent meant to be reduced by the limited visions that bollywood subscribes to
abhishek kapoor seems a safe option for directing the epic, but as far as cast goes, no popular face will ever be perfect simply because in bollywood the 'star' dominates talent rather than the other way round

I think for mb characters, instead of popular faces director should go for new faces because it is a bit harder to see film actors (though how much they are my fab or gr8 actor) as a mythological character
