A TWIST?
Greetings RR forum waasis, now we all know that our beloved show is going through turbulent weather and the captain of the ship has been trying all sorts of tricks and calling upon all his wisdom(debatable but there has been enough discussion of that already) to steady the ship and steer it to safety. Not surprisingly, our forum seems to have been caught up in this whirlwind of turbulence too.The fear being that the ship will not emerge out of this rough weather intact. And rightly so, perhaps. Not going to dwell on that but passion runs high as is evident and it only means one thing, we care!
Even though my interest in RR has steadily declined over the last few weeks (fluctuated between W*F to I think I'm done to I'm bored to tell me why am I watching this again!?) a pull of some kind is still intact because I've found myself taking a peek hoping that some one or something will light up a spark that will bring to life what has been dithering on the sidelines of late. Hope springs eternal, and as long as RR runs on air, hope floats.
And it got me thinking, as this show often does much to my annoyance and earns me a good rebuke from friends who hold a differing opinion on this show. May be I am driven by insanity, but thats alright. We are all allowed to be crazy right? 😉 How can they spice things up? So bear with me, as I share some thoughts. This post is no way meant to be a preaching post to those who wield the mighty pen for this show, so lets not even go there.
A TWIST. Thats what we need at this point, a twist which will do many things but most importantly inject a much needed venom into paradise and thereby cause a rift. an emotional one to start off with that slowly transcends the emotional plane and becomes bigger. Anything that guarantees some much needed heartburn, to the couple caught unwittingly at the center of this storm and to us hopeless romantics glued to their every move like we do not have a life of our own! I'm game for that.
How do you deal with it when you do not agree on an issue that threatens to tear you apart emotionally unless its resolved at the earliest, nipped in the bud so to speak before it cuts loose and slices your soul? Apart from the more obvious ways 😳 to end a stalemate between Sriman and Srimatiji but everyone including the Major is steering clear of that so will I.
But what happens when both of people believe they are doing the right thing and neither is ready to concede? And to make things worse, the situation is manipulated masterfully by a cunning chocolate faced villain who not only knows how to charm his way thorough an all trusting Parvati but also does not shy away from adding copious amounts ghee to fuel the fire of his making; fire that threatens to burn Rudra and Paro's love nest! Will it be too late before Parvati realizes and accepts the fact that not everyone is like her, that perhaps her Major Saab cynical as he might be sees through people far better than she does, and perhaps its wise to trust his judgement at times? Or will the Major have to eat humble pie and learn that there really is goodness in every heart, and his Paro is more than capable of bringing it out. IF she retrieved, brought to life and claimed, the JALLAD's heart coated with cynicism from deep within a mountain of mistrust, may be Shantanu never stands a chance? All she needs is for him to show a little more faith in her and in them, can he give her that?
Its been established by now that Shantanu is Varun's brother even though Varun claimed to have no family. Varun, the accused smuggler who was Paro's first husband shot dead by her current husband Paro made peace with this fact when she was convinced that Varun was a bad guy. BUT what if he was not? What if, he was a helpless man caught in an unfortunate situation and made a wrong choice when jt mattered the most? It can happen with the best of people, pressure makes people do unfathomable things. Varun was caught up in pretty dire shit at that point. Is it conceivable? Can we go that route? Might take a bit of tweaking here and there, but not like it can't be done.
What if Varun was not all black as he was painted at the end but just a guy caught up and used pawn in the bigger scheme of things? Surely, a smuggling racket that has run for the last seventeen years has roots that run deep; the rut has to run deeper for it to have thrived for so long. There HAS to be more and bigger people involved on both sides. What if through their interactions, Shantanu manages to concinvce Paro of this fact, what will that do to Paro's conscience? Will that create a rift between Shrimatiji and her Major Saab?
Another possibility looking at it from a differnt angle is one where Varun is not innocent, what if Shantanu eventually learns of this brother's treachery towards his own homeland (yes, assuming Shantanu is really a BSD officer and therefore a citizen of this land, and that by default makes Varun the same too) over the course of time and feels guilty for what he has been up to. Paro upon realizing that this is her ex-husband's only living family - his brother and therefore related to her through Varun, decides to reform him out of a sense of obligation or duty? How will Rudra react?
I realize, I've written a long piece, not sure how many of you will bother reading or commenting. Any thoughts?
