The Anaheim Ducks won the Stanley Cup for the first time in their history after slapping the Ottawa Senators 6-2 on Wednesday night, sealing a 4-1 series victory.
Andy McDonald put the Ducks up 1-0 in the first period, as his shot came off Ottawa defender Chris Phillips and past keep Ray Emery.
The Ottawa keeper was beaten again in the first period by Rob Niedermayer, who rolled the puck past him with around two minutes left to give the Ducks a 2-0 lead going into the second period.
Daniel Alfredsson then pulled a goal back for the Senators early in the second period before Phillips put the ball past his own goalkeeper to make it 3-1 to the Ducks. Travis Moen was credited with the goal.
Alfredsson then stole the puck from Ryan Getzlaf and sprinted half the length of the ice to finish past Anaheim keeper Jean-Sebastien Giguere.
Francois Beauchamin restored Anaheim's two-goal lead by rattling a strike off the post to give the Ducks a 4-2 lead going into the third period.
And in the final period, it was one-way traffic again as the Ducks destroyed Canadian hope.
Scott Niedermayer's shot was deflected in by Travis Moen for his second lucky goal of the game, and the Sens' Antonie Vermette missed a penalty shot before Ducks' fans were celebrating once again with Corey Perry's strike to send the Stanley Cup to Southern California.
The Ducks are the first California-based team to win the storied trophy.
