The stories of the past change depending on who's telling the story. In Dastaan, the story is told from a Pakistani Muslim perspective, so of course the story is more biased towards the Muslims. Having said that, this is a fictional show and not a historical depiction or documentary.
Bollywood churns out numerous movies a year that have clearly anti-Pakistan and anti-Muslim sentiments or the bad guys are somehow always Muslim - that is obvious propaganda as well. But of course that does not give Pakistan or Pakistani shows/movies the right to do the same - a balanced and unbiased perspective should always be the goal.

I think Dastaan tries really hard to be unbiased - there are some very conscious efforts to show that kindness of Hindus and Sikh characters as well. But I can see it being offensive to some nonetheless. But if you think the show is anti-Hindu/Sikh propaganda, you've clearly missed the entire point of the show!

Bano yearns to call a country her own where Muslims will be given clear representation in the government and where all the Muslim population will come together to create a good and united nation filled with peace and love. But the entire POINT of the show is that it does not happen. We blame each other, and then we generalize to blame each other's nationalities and religions, but the truth is that we're all the same and not in a good way. Pakistan becomes an independent nation but is unable to purify itself of the flaws of human nature - of vices, of evil that resides within us. The point of the show (that is so obvious when she first comes to Pakistan and deals with those men attempting to approach her or the final attack) is that we need to reflect within ourselves. We need to purify ourselves from the evil that resides within us if this nation, or any nation, wishes to progress. Bano's dream of a new land comes true but the people in it are exactly the same - and that is where her dream shatters and leads to her demise.

agree. don't watch something you don't like. The choice is yours. Fact is that people on both sides of the border suffered. Looting murders, rapes were rampant. To people on both sides.
Daastaan is their perspective and we have the choice not to watch it.
( Though I don't agree with the stance "India does it, so they can also do it"They can show their story anyways. Irrespective of what we do.)

Also, its not true that we always show Muslim in bad light or as the villians. Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Parsees, Jains, buddhist and every other non-HIndu religion is a big part of India's secularism. The movies like Gaddar, Border, Lakshya, have Pakistan, the country as the enemy in the story. Not Muslims as a community. These movies were banned in Pakistan, and that's most natural and sensible thing to do.
At the same time we have movies like Amar Akbar Anthony, JTHJ, K3G, among many others which show a Muslim character playing an important role in the support system. MHN had a terrorist who was a Hindu. So we have all kinds of stories.

We also have seen movies like Slumdog Millionaire showing some extreme exaggerations of Mumbai city. Many Mumbaikars took offence to it. So, what to do? Everyone has a story and everyone has an opinion. We must live with all differences of opinions, and keep the peace, instead of using it to create rifts.

For those asking if India made a story on partition, would we have shown Muslims is good light? Yes. We would have and we did. We had a serial called Buniyaad which was on partition. it was a romance set in those times, when people were moving across borders. It was beautifully made. It showed the struggles of partition but there was nothing offensive to any Muslim nor to any Pakistani. It was one of the most loved shows of that time. A Pakistani and a Muslim are 2 different entities for us. All Muslims are not Pakistanis for us.

Bottom line is that the "stop" button is in your hands. Use it, if you don't like it.

Gadar, Border, Agent Vinod, are all anti-muslim/pakistani films. Qayamat, Sarfarosh, Fanaa, all portrayed muslims as the villains. Indian films have a history of making villains of Muslims. The few films that don't make villains of Muslims, refrain because the movie has some kind of a connection to Muslims (be it an actor, a director, etc). The only balanced Indian film I can think of that as far as I know, had no Muslim input, is Pinjar.

Stop being so hyper-sensitive. It's a Pakistani take on partition, of course it's going to be biased. Just like every single Indian take, on partition is anti-muslim/pakistan.

If you want a balanced take on the partition go and read an English language book on it.
