WHY the New Haveli Makes Me Sad...

I don't know if this has already been discussed---I have been gone from I-F for the weekend--and I warn you guys, I am in a totally depressed, petulant mood so this post is basically me being whiny --But has anyone speculated on what the shift to the new Haveli might mean, story-wise? I am ALL for more Paro centered story lines, but NOT not like this. Unless it is organically something that will make Paro grow, just throwing an enemy her way and waiting for her to figure things out does not serve the character arc in any way. It gives us thrills, but at the end of the day it doesn't move the story line. And RR is about Paro AND Rudra--and how they met. The whole point of the stalker track has to be Paro and RUDRA fighting her past, him being her rakshak in the real sense of the word. And how will that work if Major Saab is missing for large parts of the Shantanu Track, as I am thinking will be the case?

This new villain had excited me because it gives us the original RR once again--- and makes Rudra face one of the core issues of the show--Paro's marriage. I thought we'd return to the Sarhad Par story with Shantanu's eventual capture --if Rudra doesn't kill him first. That has so many dangling plots waiting, we'd have a good three months of new stuff right there--- from Thakur, to Bindi, to the possibility of someone within the BSD working for the terrorists, which was why Rudra hid Paro and faked her death in the first place. (BTW--ANYONE remember the 17 brides of Birpur, including Nandini, these women being horrifically abused in some hell-hole somewhere while Rudra and Paro are romancing angaan mein?? No? Must just be me then..)

I have not seen news, this is PURE speculation, take it with a grain of salt--- but if the new Haveli location is ostensibly in Jaipur (a city at least 4 hours away from fictional Chandigarth) how is Rudra going back and forth between his office and home? How will he watch over his wife (I understand Shantanu will be sent to do this, but good God...the Rudra I know will not accept even AMAN being given Paro's security -- certainly not a total stranger). Now since Rudra has been assigned to the border activities --and everytime we have seen Aman lately he says there are "disturbances" near the border--- Rudra will be missing from the Jaipur track to do his job, right?

The story's essence was always supposed to be Sarhad Par, not kitchen politics, so I appreciate the Shantanu track bringing up Varun and the border massacre. But... I think Rudra will take his family to Jaipur and he will return to Chandigarth, and there will be a separation, as this story line is playing out. This is of course normal for military families, but this will mean seeing Rudra and Paro on the same screen will soon be literally impossible. I for one am HATING this more than if there was a MU and the couple were apart because of their issues-- because Paro's past is exactly what trigger's Rudra every time, and this way we will miss out on his obsessive reaction.

The other issue I have with this is--is this being done to also serve Ashish's extremely gruelling J-D-J practice sessions now that show is gearing towards the finals? I know there is an end to the J-D-J interruption, and my heartfelt thanks go to Ashish for balancing RR and the dance show so well----but his health worries me. He has been looking absolutely exhausted of late, with his eyes particularly giving away the strain of this schedule. If so, I am all for giving the man a break -- with this caveat to Ashish---But come on, having to do a few weeks of RR with a Body Double standing in for Rudra --sucks.

The new Haveli will be a make or break track for me---and I hope it is not an excuse for the quality going down, but rather, a shot in the arm for the CVs AND for the actors to really live up to the show's premise. Somehow, however, I doubt that story integrity will triumph over the reality on the ground.

Tell me how wrong I am--cheer me up, anyone?

Naps I totally feel you!!! I really hope the cv's pen out a good story in dis new haveli! I will miss ranawat mansion, specially rudra's bedroom! Lots of memories der *signs*

As for Ashish! He knew what he was getting himself into! He knew Rangrasiya needs attention and I know his giving RR his 12 hours which is great. But the fact that he looks exhausted and tired is his own fault.

Edit: I was meant to make u happy, I didn't did I ? Lol maybe someone else can? 😆

Naps ...honestly don't read too much into it. The current set is leaking and with the kind of accidents happening on tv sets nowadays , one better be careful . I think the story will very much be in chandangarh , maybe the new haveli is closer to the bsf camp for security reasons...
Regarding JDJ finale ...thats sometimes in mid sept , abhi bahut time hai . Seeing the offscreen clips etc ashish is very much shooting for RR . Looking tired and BD's ...well thats a fact and will stay for a while ..

Also to give credit to the Ph where its due , ppl don't invest in new sets etc if they are not serious abt the show ...

Lets see how the new haveli unravels in the storyline before we make our judgements 😊

Navin, hi!! I'm choosing to be an eternal optimist now. I was recently very disappointed when they made Rudra sulk because no one was wishing him on his b'day. If he did that just with Paro and BapuSa I'd understand. But Aman? OK, the man fangirls over the Major a lot, but still. Would make more sense if it was the other way around.
OK, coming to this story. I think we can't have Paro in danger and Rudra not involved. If the CVs do that, then they deserve a slap up their heads. Because that just isn't Rudra. Or Paro for that matter. She'll never feel safe. So either , show them together. Or make Shantanu kidnap Paro. I'm all for a kidnap track here. Because :
1. I want to see action now. I want to see Major Sahab be the hotheaded killing machine and Paro be the danda baisa. I miss them.
2. Intensity - Imagine that Paro is being taken away by this faceless (for Rudra) man and they have to track her down, Paro is trying to escape, and the Villian foils everyone's plans. It will involve violence. But this show was about arms and human trafficking. How can it not be violent?
Besides, Kakisa has indulged in a lot of passive/second-hand violence too.
3. Bring in Nandini- What if Shantanu has managed to smuggle Nandu-Jija back into India. Or she escaped and was caught and is now in Shantanu's hiding place/safe house/basement? And Paro and Nandini meet when she's kidnapped?
4. It will also serve to expose Teju's mole in BSD.

I don't think they're going to Jaipur. Rudra's work is here, and he's not going to allow anyone separate him from Paro especially in these circumstances. They can't live in Chandangarh, but they can go to Jetpur ( the villiage where Paro went to do her wedding shopping) , or *drumroll* Birpur. Or even Tejpur. Or any pur nearby. Just not Jaipur. Cos that dooesn't make sense.

😆 I am telling you right now people will tear Gautam Hedge into pieces if he uses another kidnapping track ---but I am SO ON BOARD for one! Done right, it would be incredibly intense, and your brilliant idea of bringing in Nandini is inspired genius, too--- I would love to see a shocking entry of that character-who I have always thought would be a great fit for Aman, NOT Sumer.

A kidnapping at some point when he is almost revealed as the villain makes sense for Shantanu-- and he IS in the BSD right? He is already a traitor to India, if his own elder brother was a terrorist involved in arms smuggling. I am pleased they are introducing the whole corruption inside the army angle already by simply by making this guy a BSD officer. Ultimately Rudra will figure him out, and then what? He cant kill every terrorist he meets...To stretch the track for maximum impact, it makes sense to have Shantanu kidnap Paro. Given the his endgame is to both terrorize Paro, and make Rudra go mad with loss---what would literally drive him into a frenzy is if Paro is missing, while under his protection!!!

I hope they consider the kidnapping angle --but they should keep in mind this would mean Ashish's full and total commitment to this track--I dont want to see how many bland expressions Samrat can make while the body double stands there in a uniform and they show us pre-canned, repeated shots of Ashis ...shades of the show that must not be named, baisa!

Agreed. We need to get back to the essence of RR! LOL I literally laughed reading the part about the forgotten angles. I made a post earlier in the weekend about that. Maybe the CV's can take a strong hint and bring us all back to what we loved most about RR- the drama and development of a mature relationship between the guard and the prisoner... I think the CV's need to read you Y &T stories for some ideas and themes.
Here is the link to my weekend post:
Let's see what happens at the new haveli...
On an afterthought I do have to say that the villain is one heck of a cutie... 😆 So at least we get to watch him... feel better? 😉

Napster, I don't know for sure if the new villain is a BSD officer...in the off-screen segment the actor who is playing him says that he kills a BSD officer and takes his place or something like that. So he may just be posing as a BSD officer. A spoiler said that Rudra will be called over to the border as an emergency, he won't want to go because Paro is his priority, but VK Singh will make him come and in return will send an officer to protect/guard Paro and that officer will be our villain. Don't know how true the spoiler is but yeah.
