Part-1.

I fight till I cannot stay away..

I burn in my own desire-

Like a moth to the flame ,I willingly succumb..

In his arms I take refuge to get burnt in his fire..

Veera glanced still a bit stunned, at the man strumming the guitar keys,with a smile on his face..

Her heart squeezed,and she felt a knot twisting in her stomach..

"Ankhaan da noor vekh ke
Ankhaan da.. noor vekh ke
Ankhiyan cho hanju rul de
Ankhiyan cho hanju rul de
Ankhiyan cho hanju rul de"

He smiled and walked infront of her,and Veera felt her heart racing fast..

" Kothe utte behke ankhiyan milounde
Na jaana hume tu kabhi chhod"

His eyes looked into hers for a second,and Veer's heart squeezed painfully..

"Tere utte mar da
Pyaar tenu kar da
Milega tujhe na koi aur"

He looked away,after his eyes met hers for a half a second,and smiled at some Polsih girls who had gathered round..

"Tu bhi aa sabko chhod ke
Tu bhi aa sabko chhod ke"

Did she imagine it or had he looked at her yearningly again..?!

" Meri ankhiyan cho anju rul de
Ankhiyan cho anju rul de"

He looked at the guitar as he finished the song..

"Paani da rang vekh ke
Paani da rang vekh ke
Paani da rang vekh ke

Ankhiyan cho anju rul de

As he finished the song,loud claps echoed all around them,and he smiled with a slight embarrassed look at everyone..

"Oh ji thanku ji!Thanku!"He said loudly as he returned the guitar to its owner,who praised him some more in english..

Veera did not know how to react,but she did notice that he was avoiding looking into her eyes..

Infact at that very moment he was busy talking in his broken English to some Polish girls,and some to her amazement were even taking his autograph!

She noticed one girl about to hug and kiss him,and instantly she was a flurry of activities..

"OYE BALDEVA!!!Sorry!Excuse me!This is my boy friend!Can I take him away please?!"Veera pulled a stunned Baldev away from the girls..

He looked at her hand holding his possessively and then at her face as she strode away pulling him along with her..

Suddenly he had pulled his hand free and stood still,as they stood by a comparatively crowd free area beside a lake.Slowly Veera turned to face him..

"Tune abhi ki kaha uththe?

[What did you say right now over there?]"He asked softly..

Veera looked away as her insides somersaulted at the look he was giving her..

"Kuch nai..Yehi kit u meri dost hai,aur-..

[Nothing..Just that you are my friend,and-..]"

"Tu aise jhoot kaab se bolne lagi Veera..?

[From when did you start lying like this Veera..?]"His soft tone,was sending chills down her spine..And unable to keep herself from doing it,she looked into his dark enquiring penetrating eyes..

It seemed they were searching for answers in hers..Afraid what he might see in there,she looked away again..

"Main-..Wo main-..Waise tu kaab se aise koi bhi kudi di naal chipakne laga..?!Abhi to mere liye gana gaya,mere mood thik karne di waaste..!Aur uski turant baad hi un kudio di naal-..

[I-..I had-..Anyways from when did you start getting so cozy to any girl..?!Just now you sang for me,to fix my mood..!And just after that you were with those girls and-..]"

Suddenly he looked embarrassed and Veera could clearly see him fighting to look angry..

"Tainu kisne kaha wo gaana tere liye tha..Wo to..Wo to un kudiyon ko impress karne ke liye-..

[Who told you that song was for you..?That was..That was to impress those girls-..]" Baldev broke off in mid sentence as she stepped closer upto him.

He inhaled a sharp steadying breath,as he looked down into her eyes..

"Tu bhi jhoot maat bol Baldeva..Mere akhon wich vekh ke bol..?Tu wo gaana mere liye nai gaya ki..?Iss liye nahi gaya kiu ki Nihaal chachu ki saach janke main dukhi ho gayi thi..?

[You also should not be lying Baldeva..Look into my eyes and say..?You did not sing that song for me..?You did not sing as I had become sad after I got to know Nihaal chachu's truth..?]"She said softly as she came closer still.

Baldev inhaled a shaky breath as he started losing himself in her eyes again..

Why did she have such an effect on him every time..?!Why did she have to affect him in any way..He tried to think of his hatred for her..He tried to sum up the reasons she had to be wary of her proximity,but to no avail..

Nothing was coming to his mind at that moment..And all he could feel was his heart beating fast,and his mouth going dry as he stared into the liquid molten brown of her eyes..

"Bol na Baldeva..?

[Tell me Baldeva..?]"She had raised one hand to touch his one rough bearded cheek,and Baldev felt a shock pass though his body at the touch..

The same euphoric sensations were taking over his body and mind which he had fought to kill in Pritampura..It had taken him a hell lot of a time to try to forget her..To accept she did not want him in her life..That she thought he was irresponsible and she felt nothing for him..His broken heart had not mattered to her,and she had ruthlessly thrown his feelings away..

He tightened his jaw as the memories flashed through his mind,and without thinking he moved her hand off his cheek,and pulled her upto him roughly,holding her by her shoulders.

A soft surprised gasp escaped her lips as she bumped into his hard chest,but Baldev was past caring..

His fingers squeezed at her shoulder as she looked down at her with glittering eyes..He moved his face close to her,the rage and hurt taking over him fast..

"Tere akhon mein akhein daal ke kiu vekhu main..?Kaun lagta hu main teri..?Sirf dost hu..Aur kuch nai!Bhul gayi?!SIRF DOST!Ye gayer zimmedaar aadmi tere liye gana gayegi..?!Tainu khush karne ke liye..?Aisa soch bhi kaise liya tune Veera..?Tainu to pata hi hai na ki main kinna ghatiya kisim ka aadmi hu..?Bhul gayi..?

[Why should I look into your eyes..?Who am I to you..?I am just a friend..Nothing else!Have you forgotten?!ONLY FRIEND!This Irresponsible person will sing a song for you..?!To make you happy..?How did you even think it Veera..?You do know don't you,what a disgusting person I am..?You forgot..?]"He gritted out through his teeth..

Veera stared up into his angry eyes,her heart squeezing painfully..

She could see the pain he was trying to hide through his anger,and her heart gave another painful squeeze at the memories of how she had insulted him,and tricked him the last time..

She could feel his fingers digging into her shoulders,and could feel the pain that it caused..But she did not wince or complain as she could see more pain in his eyes..Far more than she had ever felt..

What had she done to him..?!How could she do this to him..?!

She regretted tricking him like that with her lies of loving him..She regretted misunderstanding his good intentions all the time..

"Dev..?I'm sorry.."She said softly,her eyes holding all the regret in the world..

Baldev hitched in a sharp breath at her soft apology..

Veera had meant it to be for hurting him,and she tried to say it..But suddenly she felt she could not talk anymore..

Her throat felt clogged with unshed tears..

She had memories of yesterday when he had taken so much pain just because of her..His cuts and bruises were only for her..To fulfill her dream..It had nothing to do with him,and yet he had done so much for her..!And still went on doing so..

She raised one shaky hand to touch his bearded cheek lightly..

Instantly she noticed a change in his expression,as his eyes darkened..He looked down at her lips as if caressing them with his eyes,and then back into her eyes..They now held a helpless need which only seemed to tighten her stomach muscles tighter..

Veera felt her pulse throbbing fast,as he still held her close to him..His fingers that had been digging at her shoulders some time ago seemed to be massaging the muscles over there gently now..

With all the yearning she could clearly see on his handsome face,Veera felt she wanted to give in to him at that moment..

She wanted to get burned by him and his desireand him in all ways possible..And she wanted to relish it all too..

Last night she had seen him fighting his feelings and acting like a gentleman,but today,this once she wanted him to let go..

"Dev.."She whispered softly,not caring they were standing in common view of people..That what they were both feeling was unseemly and not like their usual nature too..

"Dev.."She called out again,and watched with pleasure that his eyes had gotten darker..As he looked at her with unmasked need and passion..

Veera felt her heart beat quicken as his expression darkened..She moved a bit closer to his body,her hands moving to his shoulder to hold onto him..And his hand lowered to her waist to pull her close up against his hard body..

A soft gasp escaped her lips,and a flush covered her face,as she waited for him to take the next obvious step..

Part-2.

Veera inhaled a steadying breath,as his hand tightened round her waist and pulled her closer to his body..

Lost in his dark eyes,she suddenly did not want to think of anything but the turbulent emotions she saw in his mesmerizing dark brown eyes.

She loved the way his eyes changed color with his emotions..Beautiful chocolaty brown when he was happy,and now dark chocolaty with tiny bits of lighter brown in them,as he looked at her with unmasked hunger..

He moved one hand to cup her cheek,and Veera closed her eyes ready for him to-..

"Hume der ho rahi hai Veera..Wapaas farmhouse nahi chalna hai ki?Teri Saahil intezaar kar raha hoga teri..

[We are getting late Veera..Don't we have to return to the farmhouse?Your Saahil might be waitng for you..]"He said last part harshly as he suddenly let go of her,and Veera nearly stumbled back in shock and surprise.

Veera was dumb struck to say the least at his attitude..!

What happened to him just then?!And why did he mention Saahil now and that also hers..

She was thinking all this when she noticed he was striding away,and quickly she ran after him..

Finally when she had caught up with him,she was out of breath..

They had stopped at the street to wait for the van,when Veera angrily looked up at him..

He was leaning against the side rail on the footpath and looking the other way..His profile still an angry mask..

A soft smile came to her lips..He looked really cute when he was angry,why had she never noticed it?!

STUPID VEERA!As if you had noticed the other good qualities he has!Her inner voice scolded her.

But then she shook her head and remembered what she was going to say to him.

"Baldeva sun?"She touched his arm..

The next instant her hand was shaken off from his arm..

"Haat maat laga mainu..!Kaan khuli hui haye..!Bahra ya andha nai hu ki haat pakarke ya barbar chuke baat samjhana pare!

[Don't touch me..!My ears are open..!I am neither deaf nor blind that you have to hold my hands or touch me constantly to make me understand!]"

Veera frowned at that outburst..

What was wrong with this guy?!First he mentions Saahilas hers and now he istelling not to touch him..?!

She shook her head and decided to bother about it alter,but for now she had to talk to him.

"Baldeva,tu mainu uththe chadhdhke chala aya kiu?!Agar main kho jaati to?!

[Baldeva,why did you leave me there and come?!What if I had lost myself?!]"She asked pouting her lips a bit..

His only reaction was rolling his eyes as he looked the other way..

"Khud jab chadhdhke jaati hai to khabar nahi hoti..

[When she herself leaves then she does not think..]"He muttered under his breath,but Veera had heard it.

Her eyes widened and she opened her mouth to ask the next question when the van came..

They both got in quietly.

The van was already occupied,by one man on the seat they went to sit on.

Baldev sat beside him,so that Veera sat away from him..

But just before the van started another guy came in and sat beside Veera.The guy smelled of alcohol,and was pierced all over,and a huge dragon tattoed along his right arm..

The moment he got in he started eyeing Veera,and Veera started feeling uncomfortable..

And the guy was deliberately leaning onto her..

Veera tried to ignore this as the van started but to no avail.

Five minutes had passed and she could feel the guy deliberately trying to touch her and lean against her,and she was getting frustrated as to what to do next..

Suddenly she jumped as she felt a strong hand touch her waist..She was about to react when she noticed it was Baldev's hand.

He still looked out the window as if he did not know what he was doing,but he had pulled her up close to his body,his arm curving round her waist so that she was now cuddled up against his body now..

The guy who had been pestering her till now got the sign that she was not alone,and moved away..

Veera closed her eyes and let out a silent sigh of relief..

That was when she felt his hand round her waist and tighten closer upto his body,and she did just that.Loving the warmth that passed from his body to hers trapping her in its warm cocoon.

She peeped another look at his profile..He was still looking the other way..So Veera sighed and lent her head against his shoulder,lost in confusing thoughts..

Baldev did not talk to her much even when they returned to the farmhouse..

The little politeness he was showing to her vanished when Saahil was seen waiting for them..

Baldev walked away,leaving Veera alone to talk with Saahil...

Veera had dinner with an unusually silent Baldev,and she was wondering how to break the silence when,he stood up and left after finishing his dinner.

Veera alone went back to the cottage wondering where he could be..

As she lay on her bed lost in thoughts of him,she tried to think of the reason behind his changed behaviour..

She tried to replay what had happened the past two days..

Day-1:When they arrived things were all normal,until she had gotten those blisters..Baldev had carried her into the cottage,and they had gotten locked in..Awarm blush spread through her cheeks at the memory of that time he had picked her up..Of the way he had looked pained when she ahd winced in pain..

Veera hugged her pillow tight,as she tried to forget her eyes,and think of Day-2..

Day-2:Veera had gone after Mr.Neil and there infront of his cottage she had met Saahil..Saahil had wanted to take her somewhere when Baldev had arrived..Baaldev had looked angry for no reason..When Baldev had asked what was the matter and Veera was about to explain it to him Saahil had stopped her God knew why..And then Baldev had fought for her when she had fainted,and then the windmill task..

Veera felt another blush spread through her face,at the memory..

Baldev had told her and Saahil that he will be with her,and no one would stop him..Well not maybe in these exact words,but something like this..

He had carried those sacks up for her..And then that hug..

Veera felt her heart flutter even then,at the memory of that hug..It was as if she could still smell him all around her..

Of course she could..!Why would she not?! When Baldev had left his sweaty shirt hanging on top of her head..!

Veera looked up irritated at the blue shirt hanging by the side of the double decked bed..

He was so messy!She thought angrily,as she was about to throw the shirt away,when a memory flashed through her mind..

She had been walking in the market today morning without Baldev!She had left him alone,when he had even taken punishment for helping her..

Suddenly Veera felt guilt take over her,as he remembered him running after them and asking why they had left him..!

And still he had sung for her in the evening o cheer her up..!

Now Veera held the shirt she was about to throw away and hugged it to her chest..

He had said he did not need to be touched..Was it because Veera had touched Saahil while askn him for help..?!

Was Baldev jealous?!

Veera suddenly felt impatient,and wanted to see him..She should reassure him that he ahd thought wrong..!That there was nothing between her and Saahil..

As she lay down back in her bed,with the shirt hugged to her heart,the person of her thoughts were not sitting very far..

Baldev finished the bottle of wine in one long gulp,and wiped his lips with the back of his hand..

He was sitting by the fire where he and Veera had their dinner earlier..

And he had watched over her until he saw her getting into the cottage,and then went looking for a drink..

He closed his eyes,and remembered her in his lap..

Then the scene moved to Saahil holding her arm yesterday morning..

He clenched his hand into tight fists but the image changed to him hugging her..And then today when she was about to slip..

He touched his cheek,,Why had she forced him to look at her,when he was looking at those Polish girls..?!

Why did he see affection in her eyes once,and then nothing like when she walked off with Saahil today..

Did she feel nothing for him?!

He needed answers..

He swaggered to his feet,and walked towards the cottage..His steps a little bit unsteady due to the alcohol consumption,but still he could walk..

He needed answers now,and it was to Veera he had to go to get them..

And get them he will..All the answers..

And with those thoughts he banged open the cottage door and locked it shut behind him..

He saw Veera jump up in her bed..

A smirk came on his lips..So she was awake was she..?

She walked upto her and looked down at her with glittering eyes..

She stood up,and the next instant he had pushed her up against the wall..

"Baldeva tu ki-.."

"Shshshshhh!"He silenced her placing his finger on her parted lips,and Veera went quiet..

Baldev smirked and moved closer to her..Ensuring she had no escape route as he rested his left hand by the side of her head,while his right hand's forefinger was still on her lips,and his body blocked her way out.

His dark eyes glittered as he stared into her wide eyes,both breathing heavily..And there mingled harsh breathing was the only sound in the room at that moment..

Omg I cant believe he didn't kiss her!!! It was the perfect set up, but this is veeba nothing can be done in the usual way. 😊 was just re-reding the first bit when ur update arrived. Would have done a happy dance but was lying in bed.

Great update, poor baldev he is so jealous and defeated that he thinks she wants mr chaikidaar and doesn't want her to touch him. 🥱
