For once I am getting to see a female lead stand up not only for what is right but for herself as well. She never lets raman get away with his bs and she definitely doesnt waste a chance to tell him like it is. (TBH all of the iyer women are strong women who hold their ideals strongly and do not back off regardless of who is challenging them). She fights for what is right even if it is against her husband, MIL or even her own family and it has been a great pleasure watching this. Which is why the way she handled todays episode was even more powerful. Today ish found the man she had married only for a little girl she loved but is know finding herself falling for( though she hasnt completely admitted it to herself) secretly meeting his ex wife. A woman as far as she has known he has hated completely and then when she sees him he just keeps walking not bothering to explain himself. She returns home shattered and when he comes home he tells the family its no one's business utterly shutting down any chance for dialogue. She lets all of this go without a word. And that is last thing one would expect from wife after all she has every right to ask what where you doing but this is where ishita differs and why i love her char so much.
See by not being the typical wife (aka shagun) she sent an even stronger message to raman, cause raman knows he's been doing the wrong thing hiding the truth from ish but he was able to convince himself its ok however now that ish knows he cant hide it everything he does she knows at least partially why he is doing it and it is killing him. But i must applaud the way ishita handled this i personally had wanted her to just walk away from the hotel and to her moms house but instead she went about as if nothing had changed and then when ram couldnt take the silence and asked her to ask him she said why what is the point obviously it is not something work talking about since you havent till yet. And she threw in that their marriage was a contract and he doesnt owe her anything and the final nail...trust isnt something you ask for it...it is earned...i absolutely loved this!! Call me a sadist but I am kind of hoping ram continues with his secret rendezvous with shagun (apparently this holiday trip) and the reason is because it will lead to ishita leaving raman and i dont think raman will truly value what he has until he loses it.
Plus I kind of want raman to have to be the first to admit he's falling for ish cause he definitely got the better end of the deal IMO
I dont want to put the whole blame on raman after all he is doing what he thinks will protect his son the son that was taken away from him and has only shown him hatred, but the one and probably only wrong he did was hide it COMPLETELY from ishita. All he had to say at some point was i need to work things out with shagun for aditya whether it was to imply it was about his school or just his relationship and ishita would have supported him without question and wouldnt have dug deeper (in fact she is the one that told him to talk more politely with shagun for aditya) instead he hid it from her and continued to hide it until he was busted red handed...and even then he gave vague statements asking for her trust and there in the man fell on his own sword. I am curious to see how raman will be able to regain the trust and faith he has thrown away...i do hope it is a path filled with many hills as i do believe the man needs to do some serious groveling...
