Bombay Velvet is by far going to be the most expensive film that director Anurag Kashyap has made. The film which travels through over two decades showcases Bombay through 50s, 60s and 70s.

The film has been shot in Sri Lanka. Painstaking effort has gone into creating the Bombay of yore. It has now been learnt that more than 200 vintage cars have been used in this Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma starrer.

Bombay Velvet is based on writer Gyan Prakash's book Mumbai Fables and records the era and period before Mumbai became the mega city it is today.

Using more than 200 vintage cars in a film is rather unusual and could have proved to be difficult for the person helming the production design of the film. Luckily, since the film has been extensively shot in Sri Lanka, it was as difficult to procure vintage cars in that country. Sri Lanka has a huge number of vintage cars which are still in great and running condition.

The film's period look will have a lot of British influence right from the costumes to night club settings the film will unravel.

Bombay Velvet is expected to release on November 28.

Looking forward to this movie for Anurag Kashyap and Ranbir. Hope RK has done justice to this role. I really don't want to come back after the movie saying ''Damn, miscast!''
And the producers shouldn't promote this movie like a masala flick. It's a dark movie and promote it authentically. 200 vintage cars information-- Rohit Shetty comes to my head. Not liking the style of promotion. It's such a big movie and this is the info they release to the media!😡

Although I've never liked Kashyap's movies, still hoping that other Phantom producers like Motwane and Vikas Behl will rub off their magic on this movie and this turns out into a masterpiece.⭐️

i hope they are putting as much effort on the script, screenplay, direction, performances.
you can put 1,000 vintage cars, what really matters in the end, the whole movie itself.
still i have confidence in biru and anuskha, they gonna deliver. can't wait for this one.
