After marathon, it's telethon! Yes that's the latest mantra to gather funds for charity that should probably work in a big way thanks to the star appeal factor. On January 26, the country will witness its first telethon that will be a seven-hour event. The show will be a live tele-show on the Sony Entertainment Television on January 26 where Shahrukh Khan will head the Bollywood bandwagon.
Audiences will get a chance to talk with their favorite Bollywood celebrities by making phone calls to the show and contributing any amount of money that will go on towards charity funds. The event organized by the CRY is being produced by UTV. The funds collected will be used towards both, attending the tsunami victims and the other NGO activities.
Other prominent celebrities to appear on the show include Bipasha Basu, John Abraham, Raveena Tandon, Rahul Bose, Boman Irani, Diana Hayden, singer Shaan, ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh, cricketer Mohinder Amarnath and commentator Harsha Bhogle.
