Indraneil quits TV for film

Indraneil Sengupta, of Ek Radha Ek Shyam fame, was signed up for Zee's Banoo Main Teri Dulhann soon after the former show ended. He was rather comfortable being the second lead and just when he was told there would be a twist in his track — a love triangle with Vidya and Sagar — he chose to quit!

"Yes, I have quit the show," says Indraneil rather matter-of-factly without explaining why. He couldn't be bothered because he's landed himself another great role. He's bagged a role in Vikram Bhatt's Mumbai Salsa for which he has already begun shooting. "I was offered the film a while ago but nothing happened and then suddenly I was contacted again. The film is young and modern so I am thrilled about it. Moreover, Vikram is an accomplished director," says Indraneil.

So obviously, he decided to quit after the film offer materialised. Isn't it unfair to leave his serial in the lurch? "I spoke to them, my dates were clashing and I couldn't leave the film. So my producer agreed to end my character," he justifies.
