you explained it beautifully! Infact it reminds me of a line from one of my favorite books. "We accept the love we think we deserve" clearly the case with ARI.Originally posted by: MrDarcyfan
Great post. Here is my two cents on ARI and his commitment issues!
Aahil has no faith in relationships of the romantic nature or in himself for that matter. His father married two times. The second time to a much younger women. He must have realised at least in retrospect, that the marriage was not really a successful one. Also, he thinks he killed his father? So he punishes himself for his sin. He thinks that if people despise him for who and what he is, or the way he acts, he deserves their hate. A person who has psychological problems don't think like you and I do. HE is trying to get the hatred and dislike of the world by being rude, arrogant, and a player. He believes he DESERVES this. He thinks he killed his dad and let his mum take the wrap for it!! So whatever dislike he gets from the world, he is actually trying to earn, as per what he thinks a person like him deserves! In HIS shoes, would you think you are worthy of love? I think that is why he dosent want to get close to any women. One he dosent think he can ever share with someone his guilt and his dark past. Also, maybe he thinks if he shares this with anyone then they will never love him?? Will such a man try to become intimate with a women in any other way than physically? Because emotionally he is a child. Physically he is a man. So he forms sexual relationships with women, as per what a man would do. But he does not form emmotional bonds. Because that is only something a man with emotional maturity can do. Not just physical maturity. Only a man who is secure can share himself emotionally. Aahil is not a secure man. For all his bravado, he is terribly lonely and insecure within himself. So my take is, Aahil Raza Ibrahim does not think he deserves to be loved, and he also fears that his past makes him UNLOVABLE. That is why he dosent want to emotionally attach to a women. Why he dosent want to get married. It is a lot more complex than meets the eye. The man is a study in complexity. Guilt and fear of rejection being the overriding factors behind the way he acts!
Nicely put dear.👍🏼Originally posted by: MrDarcyfan
