Hello Sky,

I would advise you to get proper music lessons with a vocal coach or a guru. This cannot be taught online; you really need personal interaction.

You will have to practice scales and/or ragas thoroughly and then you will move on to songs. If you're figuring out notes on the piano, that's the very first step - associating a sound with a note. Then loads of practice and learning technicalities.

Remember that many of these contestants on Indian Idol have been singing or taking lessons for 5-10 years.

A guru can help you correct your sur for the most part. But, making it further really depends on your vocal range, voice quality and throw.

singing is sumthing which is godgifted.one cant learn singing.its a talent which cannot be adopted by everyone.these gurus and riyas r secondry things EITHER U CAN SING OR U CANT

lolzzz...aji bura mat mano..see tum bhais ke aage been baja rahe ho....if we knew hw to sing or hw to learn to sing..wht wud we do here??? we wud have gone to take part in such a competition.....but i guess...the first thing u need is a good voice...just try singing any song..ur fav song..and see hw well u can sing it..ask ppl around u if u can hit the notes right....and if u can do tht...then get a coach..a music teacher who can tell u the technical points..but first see if u have the basic voice for singing..agar gala hi na diya ho bhawaan ne..to singing seekhke fayda kya???? 😉
