CIDians! Solve the case!(answer on page 3)

A death happens in a village and two local constables are asked to reach the spot and prepare an FIR.

As it was night and too far from the station, the two constables didn't go there. Instead they made a fake FIR.

The case comes to ACP Pradyuman. After reading the report ACP suspends the constables for making a fake report without going to the crime spot.


The FIR is written as follows:

When we reached the murder spot, the door was open. A man aged about 40 -45 was found dead on a chair. The light and fan are on. There's a table in front of the dead body.

On the table the following items were found.

One opened bottle of poison, one half filled drinking water bottle, one pen , one open book showing pages 13-14, one table top calendar opened showing date as June 10, one 5 rupee coin, one notebook.

There is also a bed in the room.


The man appears to have committed suicide.



Question is...How did Acp know that it's a fake report?

i am not sure if this is correct but is it because "table top calendar opened showing date as June 10" as the murder happened on 18th June...😕🤔🤔

The opened bottle of poison shows that the man took the poison as a means to do suicide. Maybe the forensics tested and found no traces of poison in the body.
Thus concluding that the said poison bottle is imaginary..

There is no mention of date in the FIR.. I mean that when the FIR was mentioned so this seems the possible deduction to me.
