Poor khushi. She not only had to see kavi dying with her eyes, she has been accused for his death due to no fault of her.
Abhay is alway there to support khushi and she is thankfull about that.

such a heart wrenching update.

that was a really worse past. it was painful and difficult to digest. kushi's life is like a pendulum. neither it stays in one place nor it keeps going forever. it requires a battery to generate energy so that it keeps on working. likewise, kushi thinks that her work is her need and solace. it is the battery to her life. hope arnav helps her in coming out of this scarred and painful past. wonderful update

I don't know what I have written in this part.😭

I was trying to give you guys a little Arnav-Khushi moment, but I am not very satisfied with the out result. So read at your own risk.

Part- 17

Khushi heard the knock and frowned. As she checked the time in her wrist watch it showed 11 of night. She stood up from bed and straightened her white tracks and black sweater before walking to the door.

When she checked who it was through the peep hole she shrugged and opened the door.

"Hello" greeted Abhay little nervously.

Khushi's eyebrows bunched in confusion, because whenever Abhay dropped at her place he never bothered to greet. He would just walk inside. Her small apartment was as much his and NK's as hers then what's with the greetings now.

But as Abhay moved a step aside she found Arnav grinning at her sheepishly waving his hand at her, uncertain of her reaction.

Her eyebrows shot up and she glared at Abhay who just raised his both hands in surrender and spoke hurriedly, "He wanted to meet you and kind of blackmailed me giving all emotional arguments. I was already indebted to him for saving my life so I couldn't deny, don't hurt me." He said as if he was expecting that Khushi to bring her pistol and shoot him square on his chest.

Khushi lifted her left brow mockingly tilting her head little to the right as if saying, really now!

Arnav could only stare at them amused.

Abhay suddenly took a step ahead and leaned forward so that his mouth was near Khsuhi's ear as he whispered mischievously, "I know I am safe. Anyways you don't want to reveal before the Raizada your small little secret that first chamber of your pistol contains false bullet like all of ours, do you now?"

Seeing her confused reaction he elaborated, "I know the stunt that you pulled on him on the first day."

Looking at Khushi's stunned expression he had to bit the inner wall of his mouth to stop the grin which was about to break free on his lips and continued, "I was around. Sorry, didn't have any intention to eavesdrop. And after a second pause he added, And I know you are happy seeing him here, your eyes are twinkling darling." and Khushi looked away biting her lower lips anxiously.

Abhay stepped back now smirking, happy getting the desired reaction and glad realizing that the darkness hadn't engulfed her completely as she always proclaimed.

If Arnav was curious that what Abhay spoke in Khushi's ear, he didn't show it on his face and didn't dare to eavesdrop. It was already enough that she didn't order them to go back right away.

"Come in" Khushi invited them in keeping her face straight, not letting them see that Abhay's introspection had left her all flustered.

"No I had a long day and I want to go and rest in my private heaven for a change, Abhay smarted, and I am sure when you are with him he doesn't need me as bodyguard, so I would take your leave, but make sure to drop him home safely or I would be held guilty." Abhay finished and fled form there not wanting to become kabab me haddi between the two lov... err... partners.

Khushi and Arnav both stared at his retreating back unable to hold their amusement back as they both had a twin almost grin on their faces.

Khushi ushered Arnav in, and Arnav followed her silently. He didn't expect such calm and nice welcome and he was elated to say the least.

What he didn't know was that she was as restless as him, and the longing to see him in private was as intense like his.

Arnav wanted to make sure that Khushi was fine after the morning fiasco and so he went to the only person who could help him leaving all his ego and jealousy behind, Abhay. And to his surprise it didn't take him much time to convince him to bring him here in Khsuhi's apartment. Though he was little astonished when he had come to know that Khushi doesn't live with Shashi uncle, but he knew better than to question.

He knew there was more to that hug than just father-daughter's simple gesture. He knew that Shashi kept more to himself than he let on. But he also knew that he have to wait until Khushi herself open up to him, because at last it was her life to share.

Time would answer all his questions, right now what important was for him to know that she was alright.

On the other hand Khushi wanted to be with Arnav, because since she had met him he was the only person with whom she found the tidbits of peace and solace in her otherwise chaotic life. But she was afraid that if she contacted him, then maybe he would expect an explanation, some revelation, and more exposure in her life, which she couldn't afford for the life of her. So right now when she saw him before her she was delighted to say the least, but tried hard to not show it on her face.

Arnav's steps faltered as he himself stepped on the shoelace of his other foot, which had come off lose. In his hurry he didn't tie them properly and with his one hand stuck in sling it was anyways a tough job without any help.

Khushi held him on time before he could fall flat on his face and he gave her a nervous acknowledging smile to which she shook her head sighing, He could be child at sometimes.

She made him sit on the nearby couch and crouched down before him to take his shoes off.

Arnav gasped, "NO". Shaking his head in denial he took his legs back, not wishing her to touch his feet.

She looked up from his feet to his face and said with a saccharine sweet voice and a smile intact on her face, "Do you want me to get taunted once again for not taking care of you? ha?" and she smiled some more.

Aranv looked horrified as his head went side to side vigorously. He felt ashamed all over again remembering the morning incident and lowered his head down not moving an inch anymore. His fair ears turned red in embarrassment effectively.

"Better" Khushi said sternly, biting back the smile threatening to spread on her lips seeing the guilty, grumpy and pouty child before her.

She took out his shoes slowly, both of them unaware how domestic the whole act looked.

"Is your hand better?" Khushi asked as she stood up.

"It's still paining, but much lesser than before and I took pain killer before coming here so in sometime it will be okay." Arnav assured looking up and smiling bright at her.

"Hmm... Would you like to have something to drink?" her approach was as easy as it would be in any normal day between the two of them.

And Arnav understood that right now they were just Arnav and Khushi like old times and he loved it this way. He also felt good thinking that she was trying not to let the recent bitter moments between them harm their otherwise easy camaraderie and so he played along feeling more at ease with her.

He nodded his ascent to her offer and she went in to bring something for them.

Arnav let his eyes roam around the modest and cozy apartment with a look of appreciation.

It wasn't much but it was just screaming her presences and touch in every place. Simple and elegant.

And he liked what he saw.

Well you like everything about her, don't you? His inner voice reminded making him blush a little.

Khsuhi came back with two bottles of Breezers.

"Much alcohol isn't good for you when you are on med" she declared as she passed a bottle to him.

Arnav nodded in acceptance as he took the small bottle from her hand, suppressing the smile with super human effort. It really felt good whenever she cared for him.

As they sipped the drink in comfortable silence like many other times the balcony connected to the hall attracted him and he decided to take a look of it.

He stood up to walk there, but before he could take a single step something hard touched the side of his feet. Frowning he looked down to find a pair of slippers near his feet, which Khushi had pushed with her leg to him.

He looked up little confused when she shrugged and cleared "The floor is cold out there and you are not even wearing anything warm." Khushi pointed his clothes through her eyes.

And she was right. He was wearing his home casuals, a blue tee and a pair of cargo shorts. He didn't waste time in changing when Abhay was ready to take him to Khushi.

He smiled sheepishly and wore the slippers before walking towards the glass sliding doors of the balcony. Khsuhi followed him close behind.

She slid the door open for him when she saw him struggling with one hand which held the breezer bottle too. He smiled his Thank You to her and stepped out in the cold night.

The road before their eyes almost asleep and the whole area seemed calm and peaceful.

They both stood their looking ahead sipping their drink.

After a long silence Khushi heard Arnav ask, "Tum theek ho?"

She looked at him from the corner of her eyes. He had his eyes on her as he kept the now empty bottle aside. He was looking at her intently and waiting for her answer concernedly.

She sighed and answered honestly, because somewhere she knew that he would read her lie on her face.

"Not completely, but I will be."

"Why you are always so crisp and to the point?" Arnav couldn't help but ask little irked. Why couldn't she just open up a little? Let him see what was hidden inside the strong facade of hers.

She chuckled mirthlessly, "Keunke main aaisi hi hu." She stated shrugging her shoulder a little, in fake nonchalance and next minute she found herself turned and looking straight in Arnav's searching eyes.

Arnav had used his good hand to turn her swiftly and bring her face to face with him. He wanted to see if she would meet his eyes when she was lying or it didn't matter if it was him, whom she was lying and lie confidently.

And he wasn't disappointed when she averted her eyes and mumbled something like, "What are you doing, you aren't in good condition."

He sighed exasperatedly hearing her retort "When will you understand Khushi that I don't want just that with you? If you want me to spell it out for you then be it..." with a determined stance he encircled her waist with the same hand drawing her closer, breathing on her lips he spoke, "I want more from our relationship other than physical intimacy Khushi. I want us involved in this relationship in every way possible, like between a man and his woman. I want you as my woman Khushi. I want you to be mine and only mine not just physically but emotionally too. I don't know how to say it anymore clearer" His eyes bore into hers as he exhaled after saying all that in a breath.

Khsuhi could only stare.

Yes she knew that he wanted more from their relationship, but hearing it from his mouth directly made a difference. She couldn't shove him off of her and she couldn't deny on his face and she couldn't lie to him saying that she didn't understand what he was saying. Because again she knew he would read her face and the truth without any difficulty, that she felt for him.

She opened her mouth to say something but she could only gasp as Arnav clamped their mouth together.

It was long that they were together alone like this and both of them felt it that moment that how they have missed each other's touch and their closeness. So when Arnav half expected her to push him away she encircled her hands around his neck and drew him closer to kiss him more deep and passionately.

He sighed in her mouth feeling the pure bliss after a long time.

They came apart breathlessly. Khushi was the first one to pull out creating some distance between their almost fused body, "We should stop it here, or you will get hurt" she managed to say catching her breathe.

Arnav nodded and left her waist but not before kissing lightly on her lips once again.

"Did I tell you?" Arnav asked in between breathing heavily.

"what?"

"You are looking breathtaking with your hair down and kind of edible with your thoroughly kissed lips" Arnav complimented, his tongue in cheek.

Khushi's eyes went round on her face for a moment before she composed herself but the red hue on her cheeks stayed little longer for Arnav to notice and smirk.

Khushi looked away biting her lower lips to stop herself from smiling.

But then she heard his serious voice "Tell me Khsuhi you were saying something."

"Nothing. I was saying nothing." Came her pat reply before she turned only to witness his burning eyes.

"Why Khushi why don't you think me worthy to open your heart?" he asked hissing furiously taking dangerous steps close to her.

She looked least perturbed as she told him the truth, "It's not about being worthy Arnav. It's about keeping you away from the darkness that my past is. You know nothing about me."

"Then tell Me." his voice was urgent and eager.

"Believe me you aren't gonna like it a bit. It's too harsh for you to digest." Khushi warned him.

"Let me decide that." Arnav sounded relax, all of his fury gone as soon as he heard a ring of positiveness in her voice, that she was at least contemplating telling him.

"Okay" Khushi finally put her weapons down.

"SO are you gonna tell me?" the shock in his voice hard to miss and it made her smile faintly.

"Yes." She confirmed.

Arnav took a few steps back and leaned his back on the parapet wall, "I am waiting for you to start." He let her know.

Khushi chuckled seeing his eagerness before telling him "Then wait a little more, I will tell you for sure but not tonight."

"Okay." Came is pat reply taking her by surprise and "Huh?" All Khushi could manage.

"I said I will wait." Arnav affirmed. He had waited long enough and when she herself had said she would open up to him then he was ready to wait until she was ready.

They stood there staring in each others eyes until a loud horn from below broke their trance.

Arnav mentally cursed the car driver but then he grinned secretly when Khushi offered him to drive back home.

A more than half an hour drive with her didn't sound bad. Not at all.

Couldn't get them more closer than a kiss when our hero's hand is stuck in sling, logic😆
