Characters:

1: Maharaja Surajdeva- Affectionately called Surya. King of Pragyapura. Bravery, chivalry and courage are his virtues. Has high respect for his mother who governed the kingdom for his when he was a toddler. His father died in his infancy.

2: Rani Sukanya- His first queen, married her in age of 14. He holds respect for her but does not show affection. She is a good friend and advisor for him but he rarely shows love to her. They have a child called Haradeva.He is 5 years old.

3: Rani Jwaladevi- She was daughter of a petty court employee. Once she saved the king from an assassin. When king asked her to ask for a reward she asked for his love as she was in love with him for a long time. As king has promised her, he married her but she was warned that she would not extract any advantages for her family with this relationship. She agreed. A respectable queen of the king, his favorite. She is a devoted wife.

4: Rani Indravati- Most beloved wife of the king. He is very fond of her. She is a devoted wife. She is a very virtuous lady. She has a kid called Vishnushankar. Favorite daughter in law of kanakwati(mother of surya).

5: Karnawati- Mother of Surya. Runs the harem of the king.

6: Nandini- A mystery.
