'I'm not imitating Amit'

Ankur Nayyar may have replaced Amit Saadh in a show but says that he will prefer acting in his own style

DEEPALI DHINGRA

He's recently replaced Amit Saadh in the serial Durgesh Nandini and Ankur Nayyar says that he had no qualms about stepping into another actor's shoes. "I'm not seeing it like that," he says adding that he's taking it as just another new show and just another new character. But hasn't he spoken to Amit to sort out what the issue was that led him to leave Durgesh...? "No, I haven't," he replies and says that it's between the production house and Amit and he would prefer not to get involved with this matter.
In fact, Ankur is quite excited about taking up the show. "All this while, the character was positive but now, there are going to be grey shades in the character. There's always something that happens whenever he's around and he can't go unnoticed whenever he's on screen," he says. But since the audience has got used to seeing Amit as Kshitij in the show, does he thing they will have a problem accepting him? "See I'm here to do my job as an actor. Then I'll leave everything to the audience," he says. And would he following Amit's style of acting? "No, I will not imitate Amit. I'll bring my own body language and own skills as an actor to the show," he says.
As for films, Hum Jo Keh Na Paaye and Detective Nani in which he has acted in have not yet seen the light of day. "I have no idea what's happened to them, so there's no use talking about them," he says with a shrug. But Ankur does want to make a mark in movies. "That's my main aim," he says. And he's also realistic about the fact that he might not get a solo hero project in the beginning. "In fact, I would prefr working in a multi starcast film at first as the entire burden of the film's success doesn't fall on me. Also, it will also let the audience get hooked on to watching me," he adds.
Apart from Durgesh... Ankur can currently be seen in Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki and Viraasat. Juggling three dailies can be quite a task but Ankur says that it's all about good planning. "I don't have major work in Woh Rehne... so that makes things a little better," he says. But Ankur admits that he rarely has time for himself. And that's one of the reasons he doesn't have time for a 'special someone' in his life. "At the moment, it's just work, work and more work," he smiles.

OWN IDENTITY: Ankur Nayyar and (below) Amit Saadh

I think Ankur has always been like this, he is not imitating anyone. I think he looked more good in Kuch apne kuch paraye and offcours raet(shekhar) or he was also good as pran thappar in star one's show yehi to hai wohh, then anyother today's shows, I think for his personality, he needs to be choosy being priyanka's puppet doesn't really suit him... 😳 but then again who cares 🤢
