THE LOVE- HATE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE TWO CONTINUES WITH THE KAPOOR GIRL COMING BACK ON BOARD FOR SHUDDHI OPPOSITE SALMAN KHAN

After Hrithik Roshan opted out of Karan Johar's Shuddhi due to personal reasons, the project was almost shelved but KJo then unveiled the status of the project by personally announcing its release date in 2015. We have learnt from reliable sources that Karan has now finalised Salman Khan to play the lead. As for the leading lady, it is believed that Karan is back to his original choice Kareena Kapoor Khan.

This naturally raises questions if everything is now alright between the one- time close friends Karan and Kareena? A source informs that both Karan and Kareena are professionals and their personal rapport has never been so terrible that they would turn their backs to each other.

So what exactly went wrong between Kareena and Karan, who has even addressed her as his sister on several occasions? To date, the two have done four films together, which also includes the blockbuster film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

Despite their last debacle Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, it was Karan who brought back Kareena to star opposite Hrithik this time for Shuddhi. Unfortunately due to Hrithik's brain surgery the film got delayed indefinitely which affected Kareena's dates as well.

What irked Kareena further was that she had given almost 200 days to Shuddhi before she learnt that Hrithik had left the project. The actress went on to snub Karan in an interview by commenting that she was unsure about the fate of Shuddhi. Interestingly, soon after that Karan revealed Shuddhi's status by announcing its 2015 release date. After that several names were being considered for its lead pair and Ranveer Singh- Deepika Padukone was one of them.

However, Ranveer- Deepika went on to do Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani.

While there was a lot of buzz about the rift between Kareena and Karan deepening, her absence at Karan's birthday party further fuelled the rumours.

Interestingly, Kareena reacted on her absence at Karan's party by saying that she was in Goa for the shoot of Singham Returns.

The patch- up between Kareena and Karan seems to have happened recently as the latter hinted during a recent event of his forthcoming film when Alia Bhatt was compared to Kareena by candidly saying: " There can be only one Kareena, I am extremely close to her." Well it seems things are finally sorted between the two. At least for now.

Karan and Kareena were unavailable for comment.
