"Revenge proves its own executioner." - John Ford, The Broken Heart
So here I am, taking sometime off of studies. I was thinking something and I can only make one sense out of this track. No, I am not going into the CVs liking of one actor or another, because I personally don't even know the whole story there so I don't want to comment on that. I am merely talking about the dilemma Raghav is in. I am guessing that the only reason that CVs (if truly professional and do actually have a story in mind) wanted to show the play of revenge and fate.
Raghav's drive to get revenge on his mother's culprite burned brightly and he didn't realize what he was doing. What were the consequences of it all? He's the one who ended up suffering the most. Not only can't he be with the one person he loves the most but also he is branded a cheater and a liar. He has portrayed himself as weak by taking the path of revenge. In an attempt to to thwart Kapoors' plans and to ruin them, he has only ruined himself - whether it was by losing the people who could be his potential family, or the girl who could have given him the world.
Let's look at Kalpi, the poor girl. What was her fault in all of this? She's suffered the most when it came to EMA. We have all felt for her at least at one point. She's still suffering and holding onto a small hope that everything will be better. But would it? Would it ever really get better? Would her wounds ever heal?
Who's really hurting other than them? I want to say Pakhi is another victim in this but that's entirely another story. Right now, the person who matters to him the most is the one hurting the most besides him. He hasn't gained anything with this revenge - even the Kapoors are faring well. It leads me to say that a person should always keep in mind that revenge is playing with fire, where fire would only burn your hand but revenge will burn everything else.
Not only that, it has come to a point where he could be misleading Pakhi (though very unintentionally) that he has started to warm up to her. I am not sure why a girl would want to stay with her husband if she finds out that he only married her for revenge. Still not sure why Kamla would convince Pakhi to stay if she cares so much for her happiness. But the situation is only getting worse day by day.
Now, in all of this, is revenge ever really worth it? I am sure a lot of you have heard "An eye for an eye will only make the whole world blind" by Mahatma Gandhi. So, the best revenge would not be to strive to make someone suffer but strive to make yourself happy because one thing your enemies hate is seeing you happy - that's the best kind of revenge. In Raghav's case, I don't mean that he should've let them off the hook so easily. I mean to say that he should have gathered evidence and testified against the Kapoors. He should've ruined them by wealth and status and their "izzat" in their "high standard" society. After all, there's nothing they value the most other than their show of power.
It's high time that Raghav finds a way out of this asap. Because I personally feel that the situation could still be redeemed if done properly. But alas, if only the CVs listen to us.
Alright so here's my two cents and rant. Do share your opinion!
