The Poonawalas are never short of admirers. And the latest in their long list of friends is this influential family from the film industry. The diarist has learnt that one of the family members has been rather expressive about her gratitude towards the Poonawalas, and with good reason. When the entire clan needed to get away quickly for a holiday to Thailand, but were strapped for air-tickets, it was the Poonwalas who came to their rescue. They happily offered them their private jet, and won a special place in their hearts for a while to come. Incidentally, another gent who had in the past offered his private jet to the patriarch of this family, is behind bars at the moment, feeling rather friendless and unloved, we can assure you.

Yes. Subrata Roy and Sahara headquarters all based in Lucknow. Heard of Sahara's projects in Pune but no idea if Subrata Roy lives there.
