I now pronounce you my WIFE ... to have & to hold ... till death do us part
I ended my last post by saying it promises to be a action packed week ahead for YHM ... & boy was it action packed ... yes drama was expected BUT the crescendo which the "mohabbat" is reaching is truly breath taking ...
It was a week packed with romance, softness, closeness, screaming, acrimony, tears, making & breaking of bonds ... a family standing together ... or would it be much better to say ... A FAMILY COMING TOGETHER ...
Writing about 6 days worth of episode in a single post .. specially in a week when so much happened would result in me actually filling pages ... hence i will pick out a couple of moments which to me defined YHM ... a few nuances which took this regular script into the reaches of BRILLIANCE which honestly i did not expect ... but whats more ... it told a story which was FAR FAR more than 2 people coming together to build a YOUNG GIRLS life ...
The first such moment is of course on the SHOUT DAY ...
To me the above was one of the defining moments in YHM ... the trust which Raman showed towards Ishita was completed in this moment ... It was a day of acrimony in the Bhalla household .. the "ghar ki bahu" had allegated the "ghar ka damad" ...
A loving brother who knew his wife was RIGHT ... could only quietly stand by and stare at the scene ... On that day ... his sister walked up & slapped his INNOCENT WIFE ... she pointed fingers on his wife's character ... but at that moment he did not stand up for her ...
Was it any wonder ... a couple of weeks later ... with the STRONG BOND OF TRUST which was SET ... that the brother would REPRIMAND his sister to dare raise a FINGER on his WIFE ... or was it the HUSBAND who STOOD like a SHIELD in front of his WIFE ... i would call Raman Bhalla a husband that day ...
When he went to bring Ishita back home after the "rape" fiasco ... he apologised to her ... that i couldn't protect You ... was it any wonder that at the first sign of TROUBLE he stood in front of her to protect her ... Because for Raman Bhalla it clearly is ... "ek baar maine jo commitment Kar di" ...
A brilliant moment ... hopefully the writers will work on the brother sister angle ( going by Simi's part in the Romi fiasco it seems highly probable)
The next moment was ...
Gaadi dhyaan se chalana ... Khoon? ... No ...
Ok i guess these pics aren't saying a thousand words ... so here are a few from me ...
It was way back in January when Raman & Ishita met in a coffee shop to discuss with each other their expectations from their upcoming marriage ... The 2 had a fight on who could outnumber the other in the no. of times they would say we are marrying "FOR RUHI's SAKE"
CUT TO present moment ... when a husband sweetly murmurs amidst a throat closed with emotion ... "DRIVE SAFELY" ... there could be no better way to SHOW US ... that Raman Kumar Bhalla was talking to his WIFE ... & not RUHI's mother ... cause this is the mundane statement which any caring couple speaks to each other a million times ... To me this showed better than any moment how the STATUS QUO in the BHALLA MARRIAGE had changed ...
Now lets go to the next series ...
A worried Ishita runs into the hospital collides with Raman & sees him covered in blood .. she runs her fingers on his shirt ... at that particular moment ... There was NO ISHITA IYER in that room ... the only thought in her mind was RAMAN BHALLA my husband covered in BLOOD ... the question ... HOW BADLY HURT ARE YOU ????
The next moment a husband completely in tune with his wife ... gently nods his head .. with a simple gesture he told her its not me ... i am fine ... its "amma" ... & the next word Ishita whispers is AMMA ... there ISHITA IYER was back ... her focus shifted right back ...
Dunno how many of u caught this moment ... but to me the brilliance of the DIRECTOR shown through in this gesture ... this subtle nuance actually clearly showed us ... MR. & MRS. RAMAN KUMAR BHALLA ... standing together holding on to each other & facing the crisis ...
Often times a writer wants to say a lot of things with his scene & his dialog ... specially in TV i have seen that most of the subtle nuances are lost ... as the director fails to show the same on screen ... BUT this is one time .. i would bow down to the director for his incredible brilliance ... & whats more the performance of the lead pair was WAY PAR EXCELLENCE ... with simple expressions they conveyed a shot devoid of dialogs ... but clear in its message ...
WORLD WE NOW GIVE U ... MRS. & MR. RAMAN KUMAR BHALLA ... Oh well if u recall they are also parents to Ruhi Bhalla ...
Just a few days back ..Raman told Shagun ... his relation with Ishita far transcended Phyiscal manifestations ... & the meaning of that dialog was shown in this scene ... they have not consummated their marriage but they know each others every gesture as their own ... BRILLIANT AINT IT ...
I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU MY WIFE

I know in a series of most romantic dialogs between the leads i picked up the one about amma ... ok heres why ...
A simple ques ... was this about AMMA?
or was this simply ... your my wife ...
A few days back .. Raman sat in his room overhearing his wife speaking to Bala on the phone ... where bala was giving a gift of a saree to Ishita for Mihika's engagement ... the next moment the husband walked up ... & bought his wife NEW 'gaudy" JEWELLERY asserting ... I am the husband & i will PROVIDE for my wife ...
Now connect this above Bala scene with the dialog ... I don't just call her amma .. i believe she is amma to ... So basically a relation which started on the firm platform of IN NAME ONLY .. today stands changed ... TODAY the NAME is ISHITA RAMAN BHALLA ... Mrs. Raman Kumar Bhalla ... MY WIFE ...
Was Raman simply saying ... our relation is no more IN NAME ONLY ... its a relation which i BELIVE IN & RELATION WHICH I INTEND FULFILLING FULLY ..
When u sit back & connect the dots of a scene which was a couple of weeks back to a small dialog in another scene ... what u get is the deep intertwining of a script ... but whats more the brilliance of the writer leaves u gasping ...
Now connect this to the very next scene ... MATHANGEE IYER ...
The scene immediately moves to NAME ... simply put whats in a NAME ... apparently theres a lot of fun in a name specially if its MATHANGEE ... but the beauty was they shared a moment ... he asserted himself by saying ... ur Raman Bhalla's wife ... he spoke about introducing her to his acquaintances as Mrs. Bhalla ... now pause here for a moment ... is this the same RAMAN .. who only ever took Ishita out when he was FORCED .. is this the same RAMAN who is taking about taking her out for business functions ...
BuT but But ... interestingly ... Mrs. & Mr. Bhalla now have a secret ...
MERE PYAARE JIJAJI ...
The picture says it all ... love was in the air ... oops sorry love was on the floor of that hospital ... & beware Ruhi's mumma ... ISHIMAA ... u r in love
Ishita had fallen in love once before ... she fell in love with Subbu ... her Bala Jijju's brother ... that was the closest she could come to her IDEAL ... she hero worshipped her jijaji & hence projected that on his brother ..only to realise that the image was nowhere close to the reality ...
Then she married a man ... who was as FAR AWAY from her ideal as possible... both were chalk & cheese .. oil & water never to be matched ... a man whom she thought as a person DEVOID of FEELINGS ...
Slowly & steadily the scales fell from her eyes ... from a ruthless man devoid of love ... she saw a man who was far from ruthless & far from loveless ... he was actually a very very sensitive man ... who had loads of love to give ... yes this man had prickly thorns on him ... but the very core of this man was as innocent as a rose ...
ISHITA ... the mature scarred broken ISHITA ... mended herself in the HOSPITAL that night ... she found her IDEAL MAN sitting in a stained shirt right beside her ... & he was all hers ...
Did u ever wonder why their first romantic scene (devoid of any nok jhok) had to be picturised in a hospital ... well simply a hospital is a place where broken go to be mended ... & that day on the floor of that hospital we saw a mended Mr. & Mrs. Bhalla ...
She is in love ... its there in her eyes ... its there in her gestures ... its definitely there in her heart
He Cares ... he is MENDING ... he is TRUSTING ... he is SCARED ... he is HOME ...
The couple slept together in each others arms for the first time ... & in the morning we had a husband rushing to take the problems out of his wife's life ... & we had a wife being a wife ... she prepared FOOD for her husband & gave him his dabba ...
Was there any other way to show the START of the MARRIAGE OF ISHITA & RAMAN ... a married couple sat & shared a common cup of tea ... then they shared each others secrets ... then they slept in each others arms ... & the next morning was the DAWN OF THEIR MARRIAGE ...
I would say ... this week would be a landmark week in YHM ... since it was the culmination of so many loops ... & it was the start of the marriage of Ruhi's parents ... who were no more JUST PARENTS ...
The entire week was peppered with gems of episodes ... i have not even covered the Romi & Param scene .. which i thot was whistle variety ... but paucity of time & space ... the next week shud show us some sweeter moments ... & the marriage track should gallop forward .. HOPEFULLY 😉
