Naina was not even completely awake from her deep slumber when Geet gave her another push calling urgently," NAINA!!!!"
Naina woke up with a start. Naina's scream even woke Pari up and both of them stared angrily at Geet. If looks could kill Geet would have been in ashes just by their looks.
Naina:" GEEET!!! Are you nuts? Why are you calling me so early, it is Sunday remember?"
Pari:" God Geet, I had been chatting with Yash almost the whole night. I hardly slept..."
Pari made a face. Geet couldn't help but smile at the cuteness of it all. Then watching them both almost making up their mind to kill her Geet finally said," Sorry Pari, I was not calling you. This Nainadevi was the one. Her scream woke you up.. Seriously Naina, you can scream and bring down government. Dev will have a permanent hearing issue if he is going to spend his life hearing this scream."
Geet knew her words would have the desired effect. While Pari laughed out loud forgetting to crib about her lost sleep Naina got up screaming and ran behind Geet with her side pillow in her hand.
After a minute of dodging and running each other and throwing half of their belongings on the floor they called it quits and had a group hug.
Naina:" Seriously now Geet, tell me what is going on? Why did you want to wake me up so early in the morning?"
Geet:" Well blame your certain Veerji for it. He is making me work even on Sunday."
Naina laughed as Geet pouted. Geet added naughtily," Sweeties, don't laugh because you are working with me. We have very little time and a full high class business party to organize. Actually Maan's secretary has been taken ill and today is the party so Maan called me and asked me to organize the party. Since I have zero idea about these types of parties he asked me to take your help as well. "
Geet spoke almost breathless. Naina nodded her head thoughtfully and said," I was supposed to go to this party tonight with Dev and let me tell you this is a very important party as some of the foreign investors are invited. No wonder Maan veerji is freaking out. Geet, we have no time to waste so let's get going. And do you have the details??"
Geet:" Yes, Maan said he would mail me. It should be in my mailbox now."
Naina:" Good, and Pari, you want to come or are you taking rest?"
Pari:" Guys, as much as I want to help I need at least few hours of sleep before I can be productive. Tell you what, you guys go and I will join you in another three or four hour. All the best girls!"
Naina:" Sure dear! Give any of us a call and I will tell you where to come. Geet, where is the venue..."
Geet:"Umm it's some hotel Meridian (I just made up the name, not sure if there is any such hotel) at the Marine Drive..."
Naina:" Great, I know the place. Geet, get ready. We don't have time for break-fast so we can have something outside."
Geet:" Yeah, hey! Let me do one thing. I will call the event planner directly at the venue so we don't have to waste time."
Naina:" Cool!! Don't worry Geet, I am there to help."
Geet and Naina made their way towards the venue only to find a girl sitting in the lobby. She was sophisticated and had an aura around her.
Geet:" Hi, you must be Ananya, the event planner."
Ananya:" Hello. You must be Geet. Nice to meet you. "
Geet:" Okay, since I was not into planning of the event can you kindly brief me about the progress and your ideas about tonight."
All three settled down on the sofas kept in the lobby and they started discussing. While Ananya briefed about the plan Geet and Naina listened to it attentively and gave in their ideas and inputs. Naina particularly liked Geet's idea of using orchids as decorative rather than roses. Then Ananya showed them her designs and Geet pointed out that placing the tables very near to the dance floor might cause congestion no matter how beautiful it looked on paper.
The discussion was going on and on when Geet said," Okay, I will call up Maan, we will go as per his idea."
Geet called up Maan and he picked up after two rings:
Maan:" Hey Geet, everything okay?"
Geet:" Yes Maan, me and Naina are here talking with today's event planner Ananya. We are having a small issue with something. Please help us."
Maan:"Sure, tell me about it."
Geet briefed him about it. Maan off course was not there to see the design but he said," Geet, I am not there to actually see the things. But if you and Naina think that certain changes are required go ahead and do it. You have full authority. I have an important meeting right now so please take care. You can call me if anything urgent comes up."
So after a long discussion they changed the placing of tables a bit that it won't cause congestion yet won't look bad either.
So it was a hectic day for all of them. Geet ,Naina and even Pari who joined after sometime were running all over the places; from decoration of hall to contacting the caterer and checking and re-confirming the menu, from contacting the DJ to check with the electrician about the lighting and connection, from sending the email invites to checking for the bar counter...it was a tiresome job.
But at the end Geet with the help from others was satisfied about everything. She was glad that she had completed her work nicely. Looking at the time she saw it was already 6pm in the evening and Naina was supposed to be accompanying Dev. So Geet asked Naina," Naina, you should get going. The party starts in another two hours so you must be ready by that time."
Pari:" Yes Naina. You would have to shower after all this running around. Already you have got less time."
Naina:" Girls, I knew this would happen that's why I brought my dress along with me here itself. I have booked a room and get ready here itself. You guys can come along and freshen up as well."
Geet:" You go, we will be there. Let me and Pari do the final checks once again. I don't want anything to go wrong."
Naina left while both Geet and Pari started cross checking all the arrangements right from security of all thee VIPs to music and lighting. Pari and Geet were two tired and sat down.
Pari:" This place is looking really good. We kind of did a good job Geet, you know."
Geet:" I was nervous at the beginning but you are right."
Pari:" Shame we won't be attending this party. But you should get MK to treat us at some nice place. We slogged away behind this wasting our Sunday. Can you believe tomorrow is Monday already? I hate Mondays (line for every working person. Grrr)"
Before Geet could answer a deep baritone answered," And what if Miss Parineeta, I give you an off tomorrow?"
Both Geet and Pari stood up and saw Maan Singh Khurana standing behind them smirking and looking devastatingly handsome. Before they could even form a reply even Maan continued," Geet you did a fabulous job and you have saved our reputation. I am really happy with all the arrangements. I can't thank you enough for doing this even on a Sunday when this was not even your job to do. I thank you too Miss Parineeta. So it will be off for both of you. And I would also like to invite you both to this party you have spent hours arranging."
Pari's mouth was wide open after Maan finished. She looked at Geet and said out loud," I am dreaming Geet. There's no way MK is standing in front of me and giving me an off tomorrow and inviting me to this party. I might have fallen asleep after all the work."
Geet pinched her hard and said," Shut up Pari!!"
Pari:" Ouchchch!! Nobody asked you to pinch this hard!"
Geet:" You deserve this for all you're blabbering."
Maan was amused with their interaction. For all the times he has talked to Geet this was the first time she was actually acting like a girl who was fresh passed out from college without really having the hang of the corporate world. Otherwise Geet had always been too matured for her age.
Unknowingly he smiled at their bickering and cleared his throat to gain their attention.
Maan:" Now that it is settled that you both are not dreaming and you are invited to this party and getting a day off tomorrow I think you should get ready. You don't want to attend this party like that do you?"
Pari:" Right but err we really had no idea of this party and..."
Geet:" I mean, we don't really have proper dresses and all and moreover this is a theme party means we have to wear something Black..."
Maan:" Hmm, don't worry. I had called Naina in the afternoon telling about my idea to invite you two for the party. She has made all arrangements for you guys. So get going."
Pari and Geet ran eagerly towards the lift to go to the room booked by Naina. After all this is going to be their first party in Mumbai.
Maan smiled and thought, "What is it about you Geet that makes me do things I have never done? You are affecting me Geet and I can feel you have a lot more going on than you let on. All I want is for you to become that girl you were few minutes ago. I want you to share your burden Geet and I don't even know where this urge is coming from."

Naina was waiting eagerly for them. She had freshened up and as soon as they reached she sent Ggeet for taking shower and showed Pari the dresses she had brought for them. They were beautiful and not to mention that right from Naintara Rathode's wardrobe so super classy.
One Geet and Pari had showered began the phase of putting on make ups. A girl needs her own time to get ready so imagine three.
Geet was overwhelmed by the way they both were talking about her makeup. She was always conscious about her looks right from her teenager days. Her nails were always in shape and well polished. Her hairs were always styled properly. Whenever in party, she had just the right amount of make-up making her an eye-turner always. She loved dressing up... That's the truth, she loved ...
After Armaan, she had stopped maintaining herself. She had stopped because getting ready had suddenly lost its value when that one person was not there to watch her and praise her with his eyes and shower her his love. She even started wearing lighter shades unknowingly and she avoided red like a plague. So tonight when her nails were painted red and she had used red lip-gloss giving her lips a perfect pout it suddenly seemed alien to her.
Geet was lost in her own world when Naina shook her and said," Geet, you look so beautiful dear. I had always seen you without any make-up that today you seem more like a princess."
Pari:" Truly Geet, you should get ready more often and maybe even try and keep your nails all painted and in shape."
Geet:" what's the point Pari? Nothing would change?"
Naina:" What do you mean Geet? Do you have any idea how beautiful you are looking right now... anyone would go week in his knees just by glancing at you dear."
Geet gave a smile that wasn't really a smile. "Naina, this beauty is meaningless to me if he cannot watch me and I cannot see him love me."
Pari kind of knew what Geet was hinting at. How do you console and say words of encouragement in such moments?
Pari:" Geet, I understand. But you know him better than me. I mean I have never really known him personally but from whatever Yash had told me I understand he had loved you a lot. Don't hold yourself back in the name of his love. It will be an insult to him. Come Naina, let's go. Geet, you take your time but come in fifteen minutes or I am sending someone to get you."
Pari took away a worried Naina away. Dev met them outside the party hall and escorted them inside.
Geet knew Pari was right. She cannot do this to herself or him. But sometimes she cannot help it. Closing her eyes she whispered," Armaan, love you dear. I wish you were here!"
Geet slowly came near the hall. She was wearing just long earrings in the name of accessories and a watch in one hand. Yet she looked elegant as her curls tossed around her cheeks trying to escape from the bun Naina made.
Maan who had come out to take an important call was returning back when he saw this ethereal beauty in front of him. She was standing just by the door little apprehensive and nervous. Her curls were so teasing his senses in a way nothing had ever had. Her smooth fair skin was well complemented by the black dress she was wearing. First time in 29 years of his life, Maan felt attracted to a girl to the extent of losing his senses. Getting a grip over his wayward thoughts and telling himself that she was just a friend Maan proceeded towards Geet.
Geet was a nervous wreck trying to think about getting into the party alone when the deep baritone of Maan caught her ears," Party is inside Geet."
Geet looked up thanking her stars for sending Maan out.
Geet:" I know Maan but err... I mean I am kind of nervous to get in. I have never ever been to any such kind of parties."
Maan:" Hmm... But there is nothing to be nervous Geet. They are all just people inside like you and me. They won't eat you or anything."
Geet:" Easy for you to say. You are The Maan Singh Khurana. Entering a party like that is a cake walk for you. But I am mere Geet, I feel apprehensive about all these, party, the environment, the five-star hotel. It is like I don't belong here."
Maan:" You will be fine Geet. Come I will escort you inside and trust me, in sometime you will see that behind all this pomp and show they are all people like yourself maybe people with lot more insecurities than you."
Maan held Geet lightly by her shoulder and just before they would enter whispered," And you are looking breathtakingly beautiful Geet. Trust me everyone inside will envy me for having this beautiful lady in my arms."
Without giving Geet a moment Maan escorted Geet inside even as red hues crept up on her cheeks. Those who noticed Geet and Maan together could feel they complimented each other perfectly. He was devastatingly handsome and she was a beauty to behold. Dressed in black they felt sinfully attractive together. They seemed like a perfect couple to strangers even when they were not remotely so. But then Party had just started...
