Predictions have a base that is followed esp in Astrology thats why it is considered a science. Now how the prediciton affects our efforts is up for debate.

Casinos are nothing but structured gambling where the winning percentage is already fixed. Dating sites are nothing but fun place or lonely hearts or call it soemthing else. I dont know how u relate them to preditions.

I think it depends upon person to person how their course of action will be after listening to predictions. A person may work hard to achieve their goals after listening to a positive feedback whereas another person may rest assured that he will succeed because it was prediction so. It depends upon each persons attitude.

So what I understand from ur views is that in cases where the prediction is made then the strong belief of the preson wld stop him/her from actions and let destiny rule. Does this imply that events in life are preordained and one shd just let live?

I don't know if events in life are preordained (I'd certainly like to believe that we have some degree of control over what happens in our lives) but if the future trend of our lives can accurately be predicted well ahead of us actively making those decisions in our lives, then it does suggest that perhaps those events were preordained and there was nothing we could have changed...that perhaps at some subconscious level we were driven into doing the things we did and making the decisions we made. And this is exactly the reason why I am so skeptical about the ability to forecast the future - being able to predict implies a future set in stone, and I'm just not sure I believe in the concept of having absolutely no control over our lives.

Psst. Great thread! 😊

From my point of view , if 🤔Ajmeri baba tells me I am going to win in this casino today then and only then I will visit casino and so would many others who would make sure their gamble pays off for sure...😈

Same for dating sites... Everyone would be able to find their soulmate on first try after knowing who it is....😛

If Ajmeri baba, Pandit Maharaj, Peer Sayd Saheb and Prem jyotish can predict future than WTH have they not made their millions yet?? Still working on screwing people in name of fortune and fixing problems 😡 🤢

Why can't they fix their own money problems 😕

Very rightly said. Most of the times people blindly believe and somehow go slow on efforts.

The analytical thinking mind will derive the same. Having strong influence of science and logic in our lives its natural to be skeptical about the art/science of prediction.

Many engineers/doctors/CA/actors/teachers/politicians do seek opinions on their future course of action.Does it bring in a lackadaisical attitude in terms of effort/hardwork? And if it happens it strenghtens the belief in the prediction and not on the effort made.

By looking at the sheer no of astrologers/palmists/numerologists and the like the field is blooming. Even TV shows are increasing on all channels.

The point remains does it render our morale for hardwork ineffective or guide us to select the best path for us?

Thanks😳 for ur views and appreciating the thread.

There are people who trust their astrologers/palmists/numerologists and claim to have their future predicted correctly. I look at it as their faith/trust.

The point for debating is how do these predictions effect our decision making/efforts/morale etc when these hold true and how much influence they have on judgement or course correction.

Digressing here a bit an e.g that comes upfront to me is of Rabri Devi ex CM of Bihar. She made no efforts and had no desire to become CM yet she did. The explanation can be perhaps she was destined.

I wasnt questioning the ability of the astrologer/palmist etc. there are numerous educated people from all fields who believe in them and share experiences to validate. Lets take it as their faith.

I will rephrase my question.

Taking an e.g of an employee who wants to know whether he will be promoted or not? Now if he is told "yes" he wld be then does it make him boost his morale and works really hard or he adopts a taken for granted approach.

Assuming there is a businessman who is incurring losses and seeks an astrologer. He is told he shd take up a job! Now what shd he do? Take risk in business or change is like? Or say he was into pharma and is told to enter textiles?

After the board results the parents and children are under dilemma regd which field to choose?

abt the Baba's not fixing their own probs-all I can say is "its in their destiny"😆
