Hi all

Everyone at some point is interested in knowing what future holds for him or her. Whether their dreams & aspirations are met and wishes fulfilled for a happy life. The way can be by Kundali or numerology or tarot cards or palmistry or crystal ball etc.

Does knowing the predicted future help you move towards your goal or dream?

If the prediction is positive (in affirmative) then does it enhance your resolve, firmness of purpose, morale booster or makes you take it for granted and you relax.

In case its negative (dissenting) then does it deter you from even trying to achieve and lead you to change your goal? Do you then pursue what the prediction suggests or guides you to?

Looking fwd for your views.

Nice topic! 😃

Does knowing the predicted future help you move towards your goal or dream?
hmm..well i think it really depends.. as some ppl would believe that they now have a goal to achieve for (which they believe they will achieve since it was predicted) so they aim for it and it motivates them to achieve their goal. Yet on the other hand, a lot of ppl hearing their predicted future might feel relaxed at ease and just lay back and wait for everything to happen for them i.e. they want it all on a silver platter. So i think it depends from person to person.

In my case, i don't go for tarot card readings and any sort of prediction on my future, simply because I believe in making my own future. But i guess if u were to receive a positive prediction, u might lay back a bit and take it easy.. as u believe that goods gonna happen anyhow, so might as well just wait for it 🤔

In case its negative (dissenting) then does it deter you from even trying to achieve and lead you to change your goal? Do you then pursue what the prediction suggests or guides you to?
well as i mentioned above, i dont follow prediction on my future, so i guess this doesn't really apply to me. So receiving a dissenting prediction does not stir me up at all, or cause me to feel upset or want to change my goals.

Looking fwd for your views.
Thanks!

Agreed and you have given another perspective. Does culture play a role here or personality?

Thats a danger of taking prediction too surely.

ur most welcome 😃 and welcome to IF! hope u enjoy it here 😊

Ok.. so does culture play a role here or personality?

I believe to some extent culture does play a role in determining how seriously u take predictions and things in ur 'Kundali' as some cultures have very strong beliefs when it comes to such areas. Other cultures are totally against the idea of predictions, so that just goes to show that people who follow those cultures would have different beliefs abt predictions in general.

Yet i believe personality is a big deciding factor in how u interpret predictions received, how u react to them and what action u take as a result of them.

For one thing, I'm quite skeptical about whether someone's future really can be predicted accurately. I just haven't heard of too many instances of an on-the-dot prediction. Most of the time, the "predictions" are vague, ambiguous statements that could apply to anyone out there. But just for discussion sake, even if someone could accurately predict my future, I still wouldn't want to know what lies ahead - for me, life is better lived with some surprise element to it. Knowing what lies ahead would take all the fun out of it. And if someone IS able to predict your future, the whole predictability of it implies that your future is something set in stone, and so if some event (good or bad) is going to take place regardless of your own actions, then what's the point in knowing of its occurrence ahead of time while being able to do nothing about it...it's not like you can change that future...if you could, then it woulnt really be predictable, would it? I dont know if I'm making a lot of sense...😕...need more coffeeeee...*sigh*

THanks😳 for the welcome and interesting views shared.

You have rightly said that cultures define how much we beleive in it. In some communities even today when a child i s born the kundali is prepared and acc to it name is kept and it decides when and what things they will do. e.g day of going to school, whom to marry etc. recent celebrity e.g is Abhi-Aish marriage so this belief cuts across all the strata in society.

Western socities also believe in predictions like in sun signs/palmistry or numerology but yes its less prevalent and not strictly adhered to.

I agree very few people can predict correctly . There are people who claim that their future had been predicted accurately.

So what I understand from ur views is that in cases where the prediction is made then the strong belief of the preson wld stop him/her from actions and let destiny rule. Does this imply that events in life are preordained and one shd just let live?

Definitely these are the logical points. What I was seeking for is do predictions help in achievement of goals/dreams? If yes in a positive/negative way?
