Pakistani PM Benazir Bhutto was in her element during a recent television interview where she confidentially stole a march over her interviewer. When repeatedly questioned on whether she planned to get into a political arrangement with the deposed Chief Justice of the Pakistan, the very astute politician replied that while her party supported Iftikhar Chaudhry, they were not aware of his political inclinations. She went on to talk about wanting to bring back democracy to Pakistan, this is subject to her returning to the country, which she insisted she had every plan to do so. And like all smart strategists she used this platform to convey the message of how much she had sacrificed for her country and the price that she's paying. Whatever the outcome one thing's for sure Bhutto has every plan to set foot into her country.

While that may have been the only newsworthy interview in this whole week, Roshini Chopra's pretentious efforts at playing host on Zee Music make a mockery of a good show. Kasamh Se's Piya is completely ill at ease in her new avatar and keeps praising wannabe actors and B grade stars for no apparent reason. Her wide-eyed look even when she's asking the most mundane of questions and her unnecessary fawning over every guest on her show is ridiculous.

Roshini should stick to plain acting and that too in saas bahu kind of serials only. Meanwhile she's in her element in Kasamh Se where she makes life hell for her sister Bani who now has Mr Bajaj aka Ronit Roy playing her knight in shinning armour on the show even as estranged hubby, Jai Walia aka Ram Kapoor still pines for her. Complicated but looks like this week belongs to Ronit who had a whole song dedicated to his character, Mr Bajaj from Kasauti Zindagi Key on the Star Pariwar Awards.

The show was a complete entertainer with of course the dance performance of Neena Gupta and Ketaki Dave with two young TV actors being a riot. Full credits to the 40 plus ladies, they completely stole the show with their moves. The awards though were predictable and even as some of the TV stars did their best to put up a Miss India wide-eyed look ad, it simply didn't work. Awards have lost their meaning and are all about belonging to the right camp and being in the good books of the TV channel.
