I think you need to know your tonal quality and sing a song that suits your voice the best... 😊 Remember its just those 5 minutes with you, so go with the genre that you think you can give your best.. I guess, thats your best chance to impress the judges 😳

But I have a question here... out of the thousands that usually always turn up in these auditions, be it any contest, how do they trim it down to the few hundreds whom they listen to? 😕 Does anyone have any idea? 😕

I think they have an audition round similar to II3. A contestant sings for about 20-30 seconds and the judges make their decision.

Just a guess based on the episodes I've seen. Its looks like some auditioned before and were selected to sing in front of the audience.

it depends on the program. i know for sure seeing Aadesh in C2005 and VOI that i would not sing a fast beat/party type song so in VOI i would choose a very sober song that suits my voice and range. in indian idol however, if i start singing classical/ semi-classical type anu ji would tell me to sing some modern song so i would probably sing something recent like guru, in srgmp i would choose an old lata/asha song because that is what i really love singing and judges there are not too picky about song selection but more about the actual singing.

wow smallwonder u hav an excellent choice...dese are all my favouarites too..but my list is too long dat its impossible for me to select only 2,3..😳but wat i m thinking is if i will sing a song composed by adesh or sung by alka-abhjisjeet..its going to help me or not..i mean do dese judges give preference to singers who sing deir songs bcoz in one epi i saw adesh saying i dont lyk dese type pf songs(and de girl sang aisa mera pyaar hein)its one of my fav..😕

wow brilliant calcualtions..i think de auditions dat dey show on air are done by judhes and rest are done by some expert jury or may be only few hundrer ppl turn up for auditions..wid 3 reality shows on de floor i dont think frm ecah city dey get thousands of contestents auditioning bcoz i dont think evry person want to be a singer.bcoz evry show say dat dey auditioned lakhs of ppl and selected only 14..15 ..but i really dont think dat dese many ppl turn up for audiotions..wid ppl busy in other things 2..😕

Sorry but you did not get the comment. Why are you assuming people here hate SRGMP? 😕
I watch SRGMP as well and visit the forum. Anyway...

Usually when a ASVOI contestant sings a song composed by HR or VS, they get put down by the ASVOI judges. If I want to get selected, its best that I do not select a song composed by a SRGMP mentor.

Hope that makes sense? 😕

oh i got ur pnt now...but i havent seen any saregama judges doing de same..dey give preference to talent/singing not to wat dey r singing and whoz song dey r singing..😛

but i think even dose auditions are being done by some spl jury and not by dese judges bcoz wid such a busy schedule i dont think dese judges can devoote dis much tym for a talent hunt show😕

i think ur analysis is perfect..but dont u think judging must be done on basis of singing and not de song..and i think singing a party/beat song is moe difficult dan singing a classical song (atleast for me)..but still judges give preference to ppl singing soft songs..😕
