Hi. It seems ages since i had any good scenes of Gaurav to analyse, though i realised this morning that it has been only 3 episodes... kehte hai nai, you should never ask a hungry person for an estimate of how much to cook!!
I still dont know how Abhimanyu is reacting to Naveen's death... he's come here to lay that ghost to rest (pun fully intended!) but when Naina said she doesnt want it followed up, he let it go... and he's back on the same back slapping terms with Rajeev.... what happened? Does he now want to find those people who framed Naveen? Is he ok with Rajeev's act of killing? Instead, the man participates in a 'mission' to keep Yudi as cadet and get Aalekh and Neelu married to each other...
Anyway, the entire mission thing is over and thank god for that. Just one observation: the scene in which Gaurav said 'jab kisi patient ko patiently samjhaya jaaye ki woh patient hai...etc', it was a very Amitabh Bachchan scene... the kind of comedy that he used to do in his films... par mujhe jaise Gaurav ne bola, AB ki yaad nahi aayi... i was so proud of that!
Now to yesterday's episode... incidentally, i think hawks and eagles would have been better titles than hawks and doves... this is too black and white, predator and prey, that would have been more interesting since its not necessary that those being chased are always doves or prey. Also, if Puneet Issar goes on saying things like 'doves yani kabootar', i shall throw something at my tv... dialogue writer, go kill yourself.
As for Gaurav in uniform, have never been too much of a uniform person to be impressed though i liked the hair tied back... cheeni kum, anyone?!... incidentally, i liked the inclination of head that Yudi gives to Abhimanyu when they are told that he is going to lead them... a half smile on Gaurav's face and a half smile on Kunal's face.... i want to see more of his equation with people other than Rajeev and Naina... what do the other students think of him?... what is his relationship/equation with them?
I liked the way Gaurav did the half smile again when Rajeev asked for permissin to take an orderly along... it was 'yeh dono kabhi nahi sudharenge' but not really exasperated kind of expression... the same which was shown in the promo.
And of course records toh todenge hi... heroes jo hain!!
Achcha Teena i hope you are happy now... your romance might just be beginning.... Naina ko patience of a predator kahan dikh gaya Abhimanyu mein.... humein toh bahut kuch dikha tha par yeh nahi... 😛
You know the reason i like Gaurav is perhaps precisely this, that he makes me believe in what he is saying... i think he built that scene so well... to be 9, the burden of being distinguished, wanting to live up to your father's expectations, fear of the inability to do so, unwillingness to kill or destroy something which is beautiful... also the sense of irony, mocking one's own self... knowing it was something that displeased his father... knowing that even then, in the moment of taking the decision.... and now finding that displeasure and fear of displeasure both still touching and important and also slightly funny... and then ending the whole thing with something completely irrelevant... which is the only way you can end such stories. If you go back to the scene, he's matched the mood of every line... changed the pitch of the scene throuhgout. Achche se kiya yeh...
Achcha though the dialogues were silly here, i liked the situation... it was a very vulnerable moment that he was sharing, though he made it sound anything but vulnerable, which is not surprising since that is how a lot of men cope with being vulnerable :).... more establishment of Abhi's character.
I loved the scene where he holds his hand out to her, he looked very heroic in this one ... and i absolutely loved the fact that she shakes her head and gets up on her own... very, very cute! Kudos to Naina for this one 😃
Pata hai, mujhe pata hi nahi tha ki har faisle ka apna plus or minus hota hai!!.. why do the dialogue writers make these people say such super brilliant things that leave me either irritated or laughing (depending on my mood) and in no way willing to give the show any chance?
Waise Abhimanyu kuch kam nahi hai... Huda and Yudi kept saying sir, he never said 'Humne kya decide kiya tha, what will you call me?'... woh sirf Naina ko pucha... toh phir forum pe toh gaaliyan padni hi hai 😛
You know, all this running around and trying to guess who has gone where must be fun... I'm very kiddish in that i love all such games... being left in a maze is my idea of joy... issliye i'm thouroughly enjoying myself, though of course move-counter move and espionage games can be done much better... par itna bhi bahut hai iss show se. 😃
Finally, today, hopefully the chase will get more exciting... through this chase, there were this small scenes... for instance, the bonding with yudi scene, the looking for clues scene... but on the whole the chase scene has not had any good Gaurav scenes so far... he's constantly teaching the people with him, letting them take the lead, which is what he should be doing as a teacher, but which doesnt really help him right now.
Well thats that. I shall give my erratic chattering a rest here!
