Hello everyone, though I am a regular on this forum, I have been a silent reader till now
But today I couldn't help but make this post
the current trend has been really disturbing
This post is addressing some of the cast and cvs of EMA who have been "interacting" with fans
Their tweets have been very "expressive" and here's what I want to say about them.
They seem to be having this feeling that they owe nothing to the viewers and the show is running because of them and them only.
So, here's my message to them to stop being delusional and wake up to the reality!
dear stars of EMA, Stop, read and get real
1. A show is made by viewers, and to disrespect viewers opinion can be damaging for a show
2. Though online viewers and forum wasis may not directly contribute to the TRPs, their feelings about the episode are mirrored by all viewers and hence are a valuable feedback for creatives
3. Even the topmost stars of film industry love and respect their fans and fan opinions and recognize that the love of their fans is a big contributing factor is their success. They are never rude to their fans
4. Fans do know the difference between an actor and a character, and have strong reactions towards the characters and not actors. This is true for both positive and negative reactions
5. The viewers invest their time and emotions in a show, are an intelligent thinking group so will analyse and form opinions about characters and their actions with their own perspective and not accept anything that is shoved at them.
6. Television shows often change tracks and characters are routinely changing their behavior so, if we love a character today, we may hate him or her tomorrow, based on their actions.
7. If actors accept positive feedback with grace and humility, so they should accept negative feedback with equanimity too, as it's not targeted at them personally, it is for the character they are portraying.
8. Viewers strongly align with a lead pair and do judge all the others in the cast as they influence the lead pairs lives. So characters who support the lead will be loved and those who create obstacles will be disliked. It is nothing personal, just the way human emotions work. So most of us who came here because the story of kalpi and Raghav touched our hearts will always align with kalpi and Raghav only.
9. We all understand that the story will have trails and tests for the main lead, all we as fans expect is that our feelings are dealt with with sensitivity.
10. A viewer becomes a fan of the actor when the actor displays grace and dignity off screen, so actors and writers who are rude and dismissive of fans will lose a lot of fans and this will have a negative impact on the show
11. And the actors who feel that the creative team gives them work and not fans, well. There are many good shows and actors that were cancelled because there were no viewers. There are many actors who are out of work, but viewers are never out of shows to watch!
I watch this show only for kalpi and her quest for ema, and if her dreams break, so does my heart. And when the cast doesn't understand and relate to our pain, it shakes my faith in them.
Hence this post, no offense to anyone, just stating my point of view after reading all the tweets between fans and the cast and writer.
