Most of the TV shows I watch are American drama shows & I prefer them over Indian serials overall. Their two different worlds.
I honestly am not that into a lot of Ekta's works, in fact, I usually just watch bits & pieces her shows. "Kumkum Bhagya" is the exception because I am actually following this show- watching every episode from beginning to end & I am already seeing differences between KB & her other Zee works. In fact, I told my sister that I think she is playing it more safe w/KB than her previous Zee works w/having the show have 3 main heroes rather than one main hero. I notice that the show tends to go the more nauseating rout when she mainly focuses on one main hero. In "Astitva Ek Prem Kahani", all three women liked Abhi & even though Simran was the main heroine on the show & she was one of these women, he ended having a kid with each of these women & he cheated on Simran during their marriage w/one of them😲. In "Kasam Se", the main hero was Jai Walia, & well the writing got quite atrocious w/the Bani (main heroin)-Jai-Pia triangle, & although the writing was overall less atrocious w/the Purvi-Arjun-Ovi triangle, I ended up having issues w/both pairs, Arjun-Purvi and Arjun-Ovi for different reasons so in conclusion I am glad that KB is more like an American show & less like her past works, focusing on more than one hero, even if it means seeing different amounts of the 3 heroes in different episodes since even on American shows, u won't see all the heroes have equal screen space in every single episode. Enough w/more than one woman liking the same guy business & the romantic element of the show mainly focusing on this one guy & all the women who like him. Our dear KB is not like this so I am gonna give this show a big 🤗 because of this and because I have a feeling Ekta is gonna stick w/her story.
I watch "Ek Mutthi Aasmaan" & I never shipped the main pairing on it- Ragna (Raghav & Kalpi). They're not a couple on the show anymore because he ditched Kalpi on their wedding day & married Paakhi for revenge. Even after he did all this, a good chunk of viewers still want Kalpi to end up w/Raghav 😔. They want him to divorce Paakhi & after he divorces her, they want Kalpi to go back to him. Here I am thinkin' why the heck is it that on so many Zee serials the main heroine ends up with the very first guy she falls in love with regardless of what he does. Even American shows don't stoop this low a lot of the time. At least w/them, it's more of a question as to whether the guy/girl will end up with their first love. Only some people in real life even end up with the first guy they fall in love with for crying out loud. It's still a question as to whether the CV's are gonna have Ragna be endgame but I really hope the CV's decide to experiment w/showing a well executed love story between Kalpi & Prem (they haven't become a couple on the show yet) & Prem eventually marrying Kalpi only unlike what Raghav did to her. Anyways, your topic post reminds me of what I want to see in EMA.
