Apoorva Lakhia's starstudded Shootout At Lokhandwala is doing very well in the Mumbai circuit, and fair at other centres. Cheeni Kum is a multiplex fim to which the multiplex audience does not seem to have taken fancy. While the film's performance just about passes muster in Mumbai, elsewhere it is a no go.

Shootout At Lokhandwala

Cast: Sanjay Dutt, Vivek Oberoi, Tusshar Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan.
Director: Apoorva Lakhia.
Decent performance from Vivek Oberoi.

Bad script, acting, characters.

Number of weeks: New.
BO Verdict: Solid opening.




Cheeni Kum

Cast: Amitabh Bachchan, Tabu, Zohra Sehgal, Paresh Rawal.
Director: R Balki.
Great performances, especially from Bachchan.

Poor third act, contrived climax.

Number of weeks: New.
BO Verdict: Poor opening.




Ek Chalis Ki Last Local

Cast: Abhay Deol, Neha Dhupia
Director: Sanjay Khanduri.
Interesting premise, good work from Abhay.

Poor execution, inconsistent script.

Number of weeks: 1.
BO Verdict: Flop.




Raqeeb

Cast: Rahul Khanna, Sharman Joshi, Tanushree Datta, Jimmy Shergill.
Director: Anurag Singh.
Good performance from Sharman, good thrills.

Badly executed, Tanushree can't act.

Number of weeks: 1.
BO Verdict: Flop.




Metro

Cast: Kay Kay Menon, Shilpa Shetty, Shiney Ahuja, Irrfan Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Sharman Joshi and Kangana Ranaut.
Director: Anurag Basu.
Good music, great performances.

Quite a few loopholes in the script.

Number of weeks: 2.
BO Verdict: Flop.




Good Boy Bad Boy

Cast: Tusshar Kapoor, Emraan Hashmi, Isha Sherwani, Tanushree Dutta, Paresh Rawal.
Director: Ashwini Choudhury.
Paresh Rawal.

Illogical story, wooden performances.

Number of weeks: 2.
BO Verdict: Flop.




Spider-Man 3

Cast: Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Topher Grace.
Director: Sam Raimi.
Good effects, some great scenes.

Melodramatic, forgettable, too long.

Number of weeks: 3.
BO Verdict: Superhit.




Yatra

Cast: Nana Patekar, Rekha, Deepti Naval.
Director: Gautam Ghose.
Interesting storyline, good dialogues.

Slow, pretentious, acting below par.

Number of weeks: 3.
BO Verdict: Flop.




Ta Ra Rum Pum

Cast: Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji.
Director: Siddharth Anand.
Good performances from the lead cast.

Poor direction, tacky car racing sequences.

Number of weeks: 4.
BO Verdict: Flop.




Kya Love Story Hai

Cast: Tusshar Kapoor, Ayesha Takia.
Director: Lucky Singh.
Kareena Kapoor's item number It's Rocking.

Stiff performances, regressive cinema.

I agree with all the reviews except for Tara Rum Pum's as i thought the second half made up for the somewhat slow first half which was made up of those umimpressive car sequences. But the other movies seem right, Tanushree cannot act 😛
