Lovely Analysis.
It is true that young has no experience but has enthusiasm( like Aastha) and that is always needed to bring changes in the family/ society/ culture/ politics/ religion - everywhere. Sometimes young needs support from old (like Vinayak., Varad ) to fulfill their aspiration.

One scene was very catchy to me like . Initially Shlok protested the idea of Anjali- performing the Puja ( it could be the fear on NA's wrath/ could be a sign of protest to toward's Anjali's cold behavior to her own children/ it might be a sign of his hatred towards Anjali or her character). But when Anjali mentioned that NA ( at least some male member of the family) should be doing the Puja and it was the tradition and rules of Agni house in vogue and breach of this tradition and rules - would not be liked (? tolerated) by NA , at that moment Shlok looked at Anjlai very strangely (? surprisingly). He was probably shocked - that it was not Anjali , in fact it was NA indirectly imposing the tradition and rules in Agni house). Still when Anjali started Puja, , he was about to leave the place ( it might be a sing of protest towards Anjali's weak nature). It might be fruitless to Shlok as the Puja was meant for the happiness of the family and the children of the family but' performing ' Puja by Anjali' might not fulfill that purpose ( 1. Anjali giving more importance to NA' rules than her own children' , 2. - NA's ruthless wrath) .

This my opinion from my observation.

Yes youth like astha are needed to make changes in all walks of lifes , but they definitely do need guidance of elders so as to not make mistakes which may have repercussions in the long run , and especially when it is others matters they interfere because they think that they know best , but in personal matters it is never good to take the decisions in our hands as that person only knows what they might want or the problems they have to face;
Yeah sathia as you said shlok doesn't want his mother to do pooja as it would be fruitless as the pooja was being done for the good of the children , and anjali's chlidren and shlok also thinks that anjali gives more importance to rules and cutoms than her children,
I saw the clip after reading your post and I didn't see shlok surprised but he looked as if he knew it and that's why also maybe didn't want anjali to do it as baba would get angry and wouldn't like it ,
And shlok went away from there as he didn't want anjali to do pooja as per the reasons above ;your last line 1 point could be correct more than the 2 one, but shlok does know baba's wrath I think ; lets see ...what astha and shlok will do .
