Salman Takes Away Shahrukh's Release Date

Both Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan are the superstars of the Bollywood film industry and have a huge fan following in India. Both of them are Bollywood's A-list actors and have been working in the film industry for more than 2 decades. In the initial years, when both actors were making their stand in the industry, they both shared a deep bond of friendship with each other. The friendship of Salman and Shahrukh was laudable and they co-operated with each other professionally. But with time, they soon drifted apart and ultimately became hostile to each other, if not rivals. Hence, clashes of movie release dates are nothing new to them, especially when both of them are always involved with one shooting or the other. Recently, Salman Khan decided to release Prem Ratan Dhan Payo on Diwali, which is believed to have taken away the date from Shahrukh Khan.

With big film stars like Shahrukh and Salman, release dates for their movies do matter a lot, especially when they release few films per year. In general, Shahrukh's movie had always been released on Diwali, while Salman's on Eid, but the year 2015 seems to be a different story altogether. Salman Khan seems to have taken away Shahrukh Khan's release date for his movie Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, which is scheduled to release on Diwali 2015. However, Salman fans are quite eager to check out the pairing of their favorite star with Sonam Kapoor.

Both the actors had not been on talking terms since 2008 but their conflict was limited to ignoring each other in various parties or not talking to each other in person. However, their antagonism seems to have reached new heights this time, because of the date clash, into the professional field as well. There has been an immense rise in competition in the film industry, especially in the recent years and people in Bollywood are trying to survive in every possible way.

Most people believe that Salman made his choice for Diwali 2015, particularly because Shahrukh Khan released his movie, Chennai Express, in Eid 2013. This is not only creating rifts between them but also adding fire to the enmity. Shahrukh'sChennai Express made magnanimous profits in the box office that crossed all records of Salman's movies released on Eid.

It is also being said, that both Shahrukh Khan's movie Raees and Salman's home production movie will be released on Eid 2015 and now, Salman has officially stated, that his movie Prem Ratan Dhan Payo will be released on Diwali 2015.

The rivalry between Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan seemed to have come to an end last year when both of them reportedly hugged each other in an Iftar' party. However, the discord seems to have taken over the friendship, especially when Salman Khan has taken away Shahrukh Khan's release date. With the increase in competition, each movie will try to extract as much revenue as possible, by releasing on such dates, when the strength of audience will be at its peak in the movie theatres. Nevertheless, whether the clash of release date was intentional or not, could not be confirmed as per the media reports.
