Over the week, i have done a virtual tour of many serials...i viewed them dispassionately.Despite this, everytime,I was back to thinking of EMA and regretting the fall of a good show.I wondered whether I was justified in m.y anger and disappointment .I questioned whether my reaction towards Kamala Vitthal Jadhav was not too vehement. Why do I feel so strongly against these characters and creatives? Herein lies my answer
I visited SSLK on Friday...I watch it now and then, but am familiar with the storyline. No doubt there are two girls in the Garg household, but the creatives are very sure as to who is the lead.Gunjan is always given more airtime. So the current track is about a guruji, who is bound to be fake...scope for yet another lecture from Gunjan on blind faith and superstition. But when Gunjan sermonises, unlike Kamala,it does not grate on my nerves..I realised why...Because Gunjan ,unlike Kamala, has no fear or favour ...be it Mayank, saasuma, mausima kr Rachna,Gunjan deals with all of them in the same vein..an iron hand against the wrongdoer...that is her strength...her unbiased attitude.Unlike Kamala's partisan nature.Wish Kamala had taken a leaf from Gunjan's book when she had lived at the chawl.

Jodha Akbar has all the elements in it for a great serial...murder,conspiracy,revenge,separation,love.Hats off to Ekta for recognising her kind of story and creating a serial that tops the charts.Jallal marries Jodha for revenge,Mahamanga conspires and kills, mother tells Jodha that she has to endure the marriage ,no matter what ..does it not strike a bell...raghav ,kamala,Paakhi and the Kapoors??Difference is Jodha is not a abla naari.Within the confines of the society she lived in,she fought for her self respect...,This was a tale that occurred in 1500s.So ,in essence, creatives of EMA are handing us a 500 year old story...where is the reality? No wonder,we empowered women are unable to digest the Raaki track or Kamal's advise to pooki.Old wine in a new bottle

The makers of Mahabharat have extended their creative license to the point that probably,Ved Vyas would be ,at present, squirming.Yet their redeeming feature,is that they have been clear in the character definitions...Pandavas are virtuous...Kauravas are bad.In the 200th episode,Duryodhana does not tell Bhim that I threw you in the river with the intention of strengthening you...Nor does Krishna tell Draupadi to forget Dusshashana's heinous act and forgive him...never once does he tell her that rishtey bante bante ho jaayenge. Instead he tells her that a wrong should be punished, more so that done to sully a woman...So Kamala Vitthal Jadhav, are you going against the Lord's teachings? Is that not a crime? But wait, maybe ,since you pray to Bappa(of that too I am not too sure) ,you are unaware of this

I will be visiting Modi Bhavan, this whole week.I am going to be very careful that I will only be a guest there.Never will I forge a bond with any of them. For I have learnt a valuable lesson from Ragna. My hands will itch to log onto the LU or read the WU...but my wavering mind will be strengthened by the insolent remarks of certain people and the audacious tone they utilised.I have resolved never to tune in to 118 till I get my favourite couple onscreen...whether it will be at the end of the serial or whether the serial will end before that...I will wait and watch..But no matter what, either way,I will have the last laugh. We viewers will move on easily ,but can you do the same???Hence a small piece of advise...think before you speak, sorry tweet. And ,yes I am leaving ,beacuse the unhappiness is not worth it.

When you stop by the Modis this week say hi to me, that's my original home on IF, and it's always a welcoming place. Since the current fiasco of EMA I am also searching out new places. I don't want to start watching a new serial because I'm afraid of getting attached and involved and then getting duped again. EMA was the last new show I decided to watch and we all know how that has turned out. Like u said with all the other shows it is very clear who are the leads, it's only with EMA that this seems to waver on the whims of the CVs.

Let us hope they have the good sense to sort out the mess before it is too late

I agree. I am not a follower of SSLK, but have followed it from a distance. I admire Gunjan's character in that show, strong, bold, respects elders, but is capable enough to sift right from wrong and take a stand for right! I agree, her screen time & plot has never been compromised, and she is a great attraction to many viewers.
Jodha Akbar: well, I am hardly active in that forum. But before watching EMA, I was and still am its ardent viewer. It has many things going for its good TRPs: a good storyline, supposedly inspired from a historical character, which means the scope of separating the leads, like forever are very less. Therefore viewers are able to bear temporary separation tracks also! utilisation of its leads to the best, and they are one of the best actors I have seen, especially Rajat Tokas. They really give them good dialogues, and emoting scenes! n most importantly it always has a nice balance between negative & positive characters.

Other shows, I used to watch Ek Hasina Thi also, but I dare not attach myself to any other show as I have stupidly done in case of EMA!!!😭
I try and watch either music channels, or kids' shows/channels which are actually quite stress relieving!!!!and these days even news is interesting!

EMA has left me so heart broken, that I am thinking of going back to watching/surfing bollywood/hollywood movies, instead of wasting my time on Indian shows.

But yes, I can't forget my Ragna, so I will definitely keep a watch on EMa's story...if anything good is ever shown!
