Mani Ratnam's producer brother dies

Noted filmmaker Mani Ratnam's brother G. Srinivasan died in a tragic accident while trekking in a tourist resort in Manali along with his family on Sunday.

Srinivasan was a well known producer who had produced Mani Ratnam's highly acclaimed films like Iruvar and Kannathinmuthanittal. He had also produced Bollywood films like Yuva and Guru which were directed by his brother Mani Ratnam.

Reportedly, Srinivasan who was holidaying with his family in Manali for the last one week fell into a 100 feet deep gorge. The body was later retrieved by officials.

The 49 year old producer is survived by his wife and three daughters. His body will be flown in from Manali on Monday for the last rites.
