"All hail, the Great Raja Raja Khush Rai I is gracing his presence", the crowd yelled as they gathered together waiting for the king to arrive. The precession was massive as, great powerful horses pounded one after the other carrying the glory of fire that lighted their kingdom. The palace's gates opened welcoming the air of victory of winning over yet another kingdom. The peacock colored place. Flowers were strewn on the path as the great king walked down the corridors of the Chandra Kant Mahal. It was a joyous day for the empire and why not indeed. The Rai Empire just conquered another empire under its wing and their young king, the youngest their history has ever had had been the first king to conquer 23 Kingdoms within his nine year reign. Kitchens roared in glory, courtesans prepared for the entertainment and the highest of ministers sat down to enjoy the celebrations.
Later that evening
"Your Highness, Raja of Myanmar sent in a request offering his youngest daughter and one forth of his kingdom for a treaty of peace" the minister read out. The King looked up from his long dark lashes, and the hint of a victorious smirk adorned his face. "So the King decided to get away cowardly this time", he mused. "Send out a word that I agree to his alliance on the condition of not one forth but one half of his empire", he ordered before heading way to his private chambers.
As he laid down, staring at the silver carved ceiling on top. Conquering the Kingdom of Myanmar had been one of his biggest goals and he drifted of satisfied with the power he had over destiny. If only he knew...
Then men waited with waited breath as the young girl was saying the last of her goodbyes to her family, her Dai ma and most importantly to the person who mattered most.
The summer wind played at the brink of their separation. "I never forget you will Veeru", she said clutching on to her lehenga as she took in his form for the last time. "stay brave and go, our destinies will cross paths again. But until then, you will live in my heart, My Dear Seera", he said cupping her face. Unable to stand the excruciating pain, she ran as fast as she can towards the armed warriors where the carriage waited.
The sun started to set as she was taken away, from his own eyes, from his on land to a place far away where he might not be able to even touch her shadow. "Don't worry Seera, we will unite and destiny will play its price", he thought sternly wiping his tears.
The opening of the doors woke her up again and this time an old women adorned in strings of pearls walked in with their golden cane. She looked at the girl sitting on the floor and roughly clutched her chin upward. The sudden movement caused Seera to wail in pain as the women tilted her face and looked at her. Suddenly, an emotion changed in her eyes. From grunted sternness to a mysterious glint which made Seera's toes curl up in fear. "She has the eyes", she retorted with the greedy smile.
"Take Her!", she pushed Seera into the group of female servants waiting at the door. "Get her to the Maharaja by this evening", she said as she rushed out of the dungeon.
Khushi gulped in fear. One of the servants the held her arm looked softly at the girl she was dragging. "What will happen to me?", Seera whispered with fear. The servant pitied the young girl who looked not a day older than 18 years old. "Nothing, just do as your told", she whispered back.
The Rajmata and the Maharani waited with the old women in the chamber as she was dragged there. Seeing her the Maharaja grin's grew wider as he looked at the ragged girl. "Welcome back, my dear daughter, Arnavi", the maharaja said through his wrinkled grin.
