Paro... she smiles for the first time after the hurt she got when her fairytale world collapsed when Suneri reminded of a childhood tale of a princess, whose life was fraught with tragedy.. yet who finally attained her prince and lived happily ever after..
Her own fairytale was shattered the previous night.. but that treacherous organ called the heart cannot stop yearning for that illusive fairytale ending.. if not for the fairytale journey..
Earlier she was very sure that he was hers.. that divinity has united the 2 of them.. but now knowing he was very much human.. that the relationship they have is very much human.. her certainty is gone.. in its place is a yearning.. for that perfection that she thought she had.. and what she hopes one day might be hers.. just maybe.. she isn't sure..not now.. not anymore.. but can she make her heart stop praying? nope.. she cannot..
And she becomes the sensible Paro who deals with practicalities.. and her gentle care shines through as she helps him with small tasks, takes care of him..
And while doing so, she gets small indications of his softening towards her.. a tiny brick of the wall around her heart which she used to keep the hope at bay falls away.. leaving a crack for hope to seep in..
just a tiny bit..
And then.. when she realizes that he brought her the puppet show to see a smile on her face, she was exultant.. and a sweet smile escaped her lips.. and seeing his reaction to it, her heart skipped a beat.. why was her major saab so happy that she is happy? why is he so worried that she is sad and is ready to do anything to make her happy? why... this is the question in her heart..
the treacherous heart is teased with more hope as the crack around it widens allowing hope to reach it..
And then.. as she sits down, Laila feeds a bit of poison.. and this time poison is not in comparison.. just that Rudra is not likely to come, simply pointing at his 'hearless/jallad' personality. WHICH is what Paro knows that led him to have a soulless mindless tumble in bed.. carnal flesh based relationship.. WHICH is what she fears.. not that he may need Laila back.. but that he is still the same, and might not have any feelings invested in their marriage..
And when she sees him, she is relived.. not because he came for her when he didn't come for Laila. But because, he is changing.. he is showing he has a heart to care.. he is not a stone..
And she escapes in to a world of dreams with him.. losing herself in it..only to subconsciously feel the stab from Laila.. she is shaken and is brought back to earth..
And as her eyes cloud up in pain, glistening big fat tears brim over.. which results in him putting a stop to the puppet show, cz he thought it was the story of the puppets that were making her cry..
And when she realizes that for her tears, he stopped the show.. she slips.. cz he has been gently stripping away one defence after the other that was guarding her heart against hope..
And Paro forgets about everything else as she lets her treacherous heart to lead her to ask those questions.. not to demand anything from him.. but to gently wonder aloud what she feels. what she is scared of..
and that past she asks him about.. its not just the past with Laila. But that past which led him to Laila. which led him to be inhuman.. a jallad..
she is asking him whether he is ready to free his heart from the demons from the childhood as well as wuth Laila where due to his mother leaving him he became an animal that didn't have emotions..and which led him to Laila..
She is asking him if he is ready to feel again..
She is not asking for a fairytale this time.. just asking her raja whether he will ever manage to stop letting the past to control his present and future with his rani.. or if this fairytale is that.. where the rani leaves the raja and goes away..
this rani has forgotten for a moment in her grief that the Rani will have to leave her Raja whether he loves her or not.. only for his sake..
but then that is so human.. it was the previous night when all her fairylike dreams shattered and left with her brutal reality..
And within the day Rudra's actions, sweet behaviour towards her is making her hope that he just might be ready to give her his heart.. its his own actions that changes her from being completely given up to slightly hopeful.. and she is human enough to worry.. to let insecurity touch her for moments when the puppet dance seemed to remind her things that she didn't want to..
Somehow it was an episode filled with emotions.. volatile, yearnings of both Paro and Rudra.. which culminated with her despite all her earlier good intentions asking him again whether he would want to be hers.. and an episode where forgetting all his previous vows he himself at one point tells her that the Raja would prefer to fight and bring his heart back!!
