Thanks again to everyone who read and liked the story. And thanks for the words of appreciation. As I said, i was really nervous posting this, and your words mean a lot!!😃
From the comments here I've seen some have understood &/or liked😲 what Laila did in the end, but quite a few appeared shocked and confused too. In the end, it is an act done by a slightly crazed, very furious woman in a state of desperation, so it may not be possible to completely explain it. But, here's what I thought about it.
Like Sunara and Maya said, the problems between Rudra and Laila should be resolved between Laila and Rudra, not drag Paro into it and hurt her. But how does Laila reach this conclusion? Initially, for Laila Paro may be the villain, because its her arrival that changed things and disturbed the equilibrium they had. At this stage its more of a petty jealousy, while she still believes Rudra belongs to her and Paro is a minor glitch in her larger plans. So she does some stupid things to hurt Paro.
Rudra and Laila have never had a proper discussion on where the relationship stands, every time she brings it up he lashes out or walks off. So when they do have this discussion, Laila comes to realise that although Paro may be the catalyst that's changing Rudra, Laila has never meant anything to him at all. At this stage her fury is way beyond considering things like the petty jealousy she had for Paro. Her anger is directed at Rudra for what he has done. The final act, you can call it a moment of clarity or a moment of madness, your call.
