hey guyz, there is a new article online(courtsey leaky cauldron) and the link to it is

https://www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles/1560108/story.jhtml

well,the article is as follows:

Harry Potter Conference Hits New Orleans: Quidditch, Tribute Bands And 'Snape Is Sexy!'

Faithful flock — in costume — to Phoenix Rising, a conference dedicated to all things Harry Potter.

NEW ORLEANS — Overheard comments at Phoenix Rising, the conference devoted to all things Harry Potter: "I told my work there was a death in the family so I could come here instead." ... "They're starting up a help hotline in the U.K., for people who are depressed when they finish the [final Potter] book." ... "Snape is sexy!"

Let there be no doubt about the devotion of Harry Potter fans, more than a thousand of whom congregated in the Big Easy last weekend for a fan conference celebrating the books and movies. There have been other such HP conferences before — the Witching Hour, Lumos, Accio — and there will be more afterwards — Sectus, Terminus, Prophecy — but Phoenix Rising is the last one before the release of the last book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," on July 21 (see " 'Harry Potter' Book Covers Provide Clues, Confusion About Showdown With Voldemort"). And for the truly devoted, that means it's the end.

See, Harry Potter conventions — which attract mostly female delegates — don't share the same focus as, say, Star Trek conventions or Comic-Cons, which veer more into nostalgia and merchandising. Sure, superficially, they might look a little alike — lots of people wandering around in elaborate costumes emulating both favorite and obscure characters (instead of storm troopers or Spock or Superman, here you get Severus Snape and Lucius Malfoy and gothic schoolgirls). Since the con isn't sponsored by the publisher or movie studio, it's not about getting a sneak peek at the next film or book or buying all the toys (though a selection of wands — chocolate and otherwise — are available).

Most of the fans just want to talk — and talk they do. About theories, about "ships," and about slash — homoerotic pairings in fan fiction (who knew Harry and Draco Malfoy could be such a hot couple?).

In fact, one of the most anticipated events wasn't the non-magical games of Quidditch beside the Mississippi River (it's more like rugby meets basketball), or the masquerade ball at the Sheraton Hotel or performances on Bourbon Street by wizard rock bands like the Remus Lupins (whose singer was treated like the Pete Wentz of this world — random women kept grabbing his butt once he got offstage).

What really got people talking was the "Snape: Friend or Foe?" panel. "Fights are going to break out at that one!" one woman-turned-witch-for-the-weekend predicted. And as delegates tried to get a seat in the ballroom for it, they wondered: Was the massive line split into two so that you had to decide where you stood on the issue before you even entered the room?

Because of his ambiguity, Snape is such a polarizing character that two hours wasn't nearly enough to discuss all the theories about him, which range from him being a double-agent favoring whichever team seemed to be winning at the time; to him harboring a secret love for Harry's deceased mother, Lily; to him having taken more than one Unbreakable Vow (one of which would have been to protect Harry, thus entwining their lives). No wonder Snape keeps saving Harry's life yet treats him so shabbily, panelist Hilary K. Justice theorized: "He's scared to death of Harry, because his life is in the hands of a half-trained, well-intentioned, but reckless teenage boy ... What would it be like to be Snape during 'Goblet of Fire'? 'Harry's putting my world and my life in danger ... just by procrastinating?' You'd have a heart attack!"

Some theories were booed, others applauded, but no matter where they stood on the issue, fans walking out of the room agreed: "That was awesome!" Then came the sighs, because for all the fun they'd had imagining possible scenarios and explanations for what's to come in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," not knowing was far more interesting, however excruciating it might be. As Justice said, "We'll be put out of our misery soon enough."

well guyz, dont blame me for the language of the article.i have published the link..i know some of u can be very touchy about the language used but i cant help it..hope u like the article...
