The harsh desert sands of Rajasthan plays host to this passionate tale of two destined soulmates, bound together and yet torn apart in the hues of love and hate.

Parvati and Rudra.

Reth mein shuru hue ek prem ki dastaan; lekin iss dastaan mein kya pyaar payenge ya rakht behega?

A childhood encounter

"Bacchon ka dil pyar samajh tha hai, sachhaai aur jhoot, achaai aur burayi mein pharak samajhtha hai aur jab viswaas karta hai tho wo jhoota nahi hota..."

She, a beloved daughter whose parents were murdered by BSD forces and He, a once happy boy now tormented by his mother's unexplained abandonment.

"Kuch nahi hua, kuch nahi hua, sab teekh hojayega. Maa, bapusa aaraha hai"

"Iss Maa ki badua hai tuje, ki jis tarah se tune aaj mere beta ko mujse alag kiya na? Ussi tarah iss Ishwar bhi tuje teri maa se alag kardega"

They meet as children at a bus stop where a caring Paro attempts to comfort an upset by parting with her treasured doll, a memento of parents who are no more.

"Manne lagta hai ki main apne soch mein bahut aamir hu"

"Tujhe takleef main dekhkar mujhe bhi takleef hoti hai"

For Rudra, guarded against the taunts and tortures of the world, the comfort given by this slight girl is unexpected but deeply appreciated.

"Woh apne aage bhagwaan ko bhi nah maane, toh santan ko kya maanegi? ... Usne aaj tak na kabhi thara bapusa ko chaha, na tujhe"

"Mera saara bachpan, main khela nahi, main toota, bikhra aur fir nafrat ki maine aur ajj bhi karta hu, main nahin chahata woh aiye, par woh laut ayi...saari zindagi ladke jisse door hoya woh laut ayi...mera majak udane"

They meet and then part again but what was a chance encounter between two young souls scarred by their lost childhood was simply the beginning of a destined love story.

An officer and a bride

Time marches on and those two children have now grown into adults who while living in the present are still haunted by the ghosts of the past.

"Birpur ki hawa bolti hai, baat karti hai aur bhatke hue ko rasta dhikati hai"

The girl who once lost her world has found built another in Birpur.

"Birpur se bahar kabhi nahi nikari shayad. Jindagi inn reth ke teelo mein kaate hue dikthi hai. Kuch logon ke liye bade khaas, bade apne se hota hai ye reth ke teele, tumhare liya bhi hain na?"

Raised in the loving care of her Mamisa and under the adoring watch of the village Thakurain, Paro has blossomed into a woman of beauty and grace.

"Suraj ki roshni, registan ki ret tak iski shakal nahi dekh sakti, agar mein na chahu"

She dreams of a happy future whilst carrying cherished memories of the past.

"Apne suna na Bholeji? Kya kehrahe the woh? Woh matlab...woh. Aur koi na jaane iss baat ko, kyunki pehle kabhi hoto pe na layi. Par aapke to mann ki avaaz sunaijave hai. Haazaron bar suna hoga aapne, mhare mann ka yahi sapna. Ki mhara bhi ek chota sa ghar ho, jaha ki deewaron pe bina hijak mhare pasand ka chuna karvao, ki mharo calendar tangvao, mhari rasoi, mhara apna parivaar"

The only darkness present in sun-filled life is that of the danger posed by the BSD. They were the ones blamed for her parents' deaths and that of many others.

"BSD aag hai, aag! Aur aag janmi hai chitha ki saheli banne"

"Bas! Gaon mein ghoomte kutte ki baddai kar lijo par dobara kabhi BSD walon ki baddai na karjo"

All of Birpur fear the BSD; a fear that has been nurtured and harvested by the Birpur's Thakur for his own sinister purposes.
"Yaha ki logon ko BSD se itni nafrat hai ke lagta hai inki sabziyo mein namak nahi, BSD ke khilaf zeher khilayi jaata hai inkon"

Annually, he arranges for a grand wedding where a daughter of Birpur is married to a groom from across the border.

"Sarkar jor jabarjasthi se zameen pe kato ke bard gardh sake, hain himmat to humare dillon main ye kato ke bard gardh dekhave, sarkar. Mhere liya koi sarhad nahi, aapke liye koi sarhad nahi, mhare betiyo, mhare jawan ke liye koi sarhad nahi!"

But in reality it is a disguise for his gun smuggling operations; gun parts arrives with the groom's party and cash payments depart with the bridal procession. This year it is Parvati who is the bride, destined for a cruel future once across the border.

"Par main apne ek beti ko ghar vapas lane ke liya, Birpur ke har bahu aur beti ki izzat aur jaan khatre mein nahi dahlunga. Aaj agar main BSD walon ko Birpur mein kadam pasarene ka jaga dhedhu to kal ko inhe BSD walon ke wahi kadam Birpur ke galiyon se hote hue mhare gharo mein ghoos jayenge. Aur uske badh aapko Birpur ke naliyon mein Birpur ka mardho ka rakht aur yaha ki bahu betiyan ka izzat behti hui nazar ayega"

"Iski sapno mein na aayaho par iski sapno ka raj kumar issi lejane aa raha hi hoga. Iss registan me uske pair iske ghar ki taraf murdh hi gaya hoge. Iske aankhon mein na aye tho kya hoya, uske aankhon mein Paro baisa ki sapne avela"

As fate would have it, Rudra has also arrived in Birpur as a ruthless and relentless major in the BSD.

"Tumne rules ki book ulti pardhe ho kya? Pehle dushman se bhirdo, phir unne khatam karthe ho, phir apne team ko kehete ho unke bodies uthane ko, aur uske baad me tum jaake apne seniors ko inform karthe ho. Ye bewakoofi nahin, suicidal bhi hain!"

"Yes, you and your men may go home. Aaram kar. Bohot busy din tha na aaj? Do ladkiyo ko pakardne mein takhat lagayi, Kesari Ram ko bhagane diya. Thakgaya hogaya. Rest karo"

Returning to Birpur has brought back tortured memories of a childhood abandoned, of a child betrayed and an innocence lost.

"Mhare ko shanti deta hai, shakti deta hai ye gana,un dino ki yad dilatha hai jab mein khush thi,jab sab theek tha, aur mujhe taklif deta hai gana.. un dino ki yad dilate jine yaad nahi karna chahti"

The wounds cast so many years ago are as yet unhealed and Rudra will not let them heal, forever burning himself and those around him. His father's words still echo with him.

"Apne aap ko pathar isliye bana ke rakha hai na aapne, ki is pathar ke neeche wo viswaas dab jaaye.."

"Apne baap ki ek seek yadh rakhna. Khoobsurat aurate kisiki nahi hoti. Na apne baap ki. Na apne pati ki. Na apne aulad ki. Kisiki nahi!"

And so when he rescues a beautiful Paro from thugs on the eve of her wedding, he reminds himself of this truth when he lets her go.

A border clash

"Kamine guns ko lekar BSD ke naak ke niche aisa nikalgaye, jaisa apne baap ke pajama silwane aiye"

"Pura gaon haveli mein hoga, sir. Kabootoro ke beech mein kaweh baiteh honge. Pehchana muskhil hoga"

"Bidaai dulhaan ki nahi, aapki dos aur aapki azaadi ki hogi"

As the wedding draws closer, the BSD realize the truth behind these cross-border weddings and under Rudra's leadership they begin laying out a trap to catch the Thakur and his minions.

"Kabhi kisse sher ko shikar karthe hua dekha, Amandeep? Shikar ko dekhkar who ek kadam aage bardatha hai aur phir do kadam peeche letha. Sirf takhat nahi, chard, chardtha hai who apne shikar ko. Shikar dhoke mein aakar samajtha hai ki khatra gaya magar sher ka chard aur baas ek charda sab khatam"

"Tejawat, museum me pardi keemti murat ki tarah hai jise hum dekh to sakthe hai lekin choo nahi sakthe. ~ Chooenge bhi aur thapad bhi marenge! Iss Tejawat ki duniya, oolatni hai aaj"

But the Thakur is no less alert and rushes the wedding rituals of Paro to Varun, her future husband who has managed to win her heart with his sincerity.

Thakurainsa chahathi ki unka diya jhoda pehne, par shayad Ishwar ki marzi na thi. Woh chahathe the ki ma ki jhoda mein beti beendini bhane"

"Isse dhyaan ho naho par manne tho dhyaan hain ki isse kaisa bheendh chahiye; seedha, dheeme dheeme boltha, pyaar bhare dilwala; voh kavi nahi hote? Jo geet likne vala? Vaisa. Har jiv ki jaan samajne wala, jo nazar niche karke chale ki kahi bhoolse paoke niche koi cheeti na aajave"

Jab tak zinda hu, tab tak na to khudh, na apne, apne kabhi BSD ke gulaam bane doonga."

They are farewelled with great pomp from Birpur but are unexpectedly greeted at the border crossing by Rudra and the BSD forces.
"Anne do. Anne do iss baraat ko. Iska swagat aisa hoga jaisa aaj tak kisse baraat ka nahi hoga"

"Rudra, remember, apne duties dil se karo aur actions dimaag se"

A gun battle breaks out and bloodshed ensues.

"BSD mein do tarah ki log hote hai; ek wo jo rules ke hisab se chalte hai aur dusre wo jo apne rules khud banathe hai. Badkismati se tum aise insaan ke saath kaam kar rahe ho jo dusre category mein aatha hai"

"What the hell is this? Tumhe laashon ko dekhne ka shauk hai kya? Itne insaan maare tumne ki itne keerde makorde bhi hote tho dekhke dukh hota. Kya paya itna khoon kharaba karke?"

To Paro's horror she witnesses Rudra kill Varun, unaware that it was done to protect her from her deceitful husband who in reality was involved with the smuggling operations.

"Yeh dekho parda hai ek aur Hindustan ke rakhwala, apne hi mitthi mein dhool chatthe hue"

"Aur ye tiranga, ithrahte hue, lehrahte hue, accha nahi lagraha hai. Iss desh ki mitti mein humare jhoote gandhe ho gaye hai, aaj jaate jaate saaf karenge"

As the lone survivor of the bridal party, Paro is taken into protective custody by Rudra.

"Ye ladki humari akri gavaah hai isliya iski khamoshi todna bahut zaroori hai"
"Ye chote mote morche jeetne se fateh nahi kehlata; akri ladrayi jeetne ko kehte hai fateh. Apne witness ko azaadi ka lalach do; darr se nahi, hope se"

Hostilities and hostages

"Ek vidhwa Paro ke liye, pura gaon vidhwa bann jata. Bilkul sahi kiya mhare gaon walon ne. Bilkul sahi"

Within the space of a few hours, Paro goes from bride to widow and she lays the blame for all of this on Rudra.

"Ye aag ubalta hosala,ye bahaduri agar galath logo ka saath nahi deti na tho vvake taarif karta iski"

Her fears of the BSD are realized and she refuses to cooperate with Rudra or believe his claims that it is the Thakur who is the real culprit.

"Jis din se tujhse mila hu, us din se sirf ek hi chhej kar raha hu, tujhe jindas rakhne ki koshish. Sirf main hoon mein, jiski vajah se aaj teri saasein chal rahi hai"

"Kinnko bacha rahe hai tu? Kinnko bacha rahe hai tu? Unnko, jinno ne tere saath me rishta rehne se manna kardiya?"

"Isliya Jallad nahi, apne rakshak, apne suraksha chakra ka naam dijiye unhe. Woh zyaada sahi hoga"
Desperate to protect Paro after attempts on her life and bring justice to the Thakur and his fallen comrades, Rudra resorts to taking her as his personal hostage.

"Apne usse lardayi mein legaye the, aur aaj aap hi ke vajese mera beta... Itni himmat, itni himmat kaha se ayi? Ke ek maa ke samne aake ye kahe ki kya hogaya? Koi baat nahin ki usne apna baccha khodiya. Tum officer the na? Tho aapne apne chahtipe par uss goliyon ko kyun nahin khaya? Kyun mere bacche ko aage kiya? Kyun? "

To do so he steps into a world that he distanced himself from over a decade ago; the Ranawat Haveli where is his extended family currently lives.

"Bevakoof ladki is ghar ke bahar kadam rakh kar, apne mauth ko khud apn a chehra dikhake a raha hai tu"

"Agar mhaare ko kisiko chunna pada, toh mein wo haath na chunu jo mhare apmaan ke liye aur mhare ko thappad marne ke liye utha tha. Nafrat karti hoon usse lekin phir bhi unpe aapse jyaada bharosa karti hoon!"

"Thare aankein uski hai! Inhe podhle, bhool jayenge uskon!"

It is within the confines of the haveli's walls that these two engage in a battle of the wills; his aim to break her defiance and hers to remain steadfast against him.

"Koi raasta hi nahi hai, Haaregi tho tu hai..Ladaayi tere aur mere beech hai aur mein haartha nahi hoon paro, bachi tu"

"BSD ne ye nahi sikhaye ki choti choti tu tu mei mei hi dushman ki ghutane aise thod do ki wo anthim ladayi ke liye dobara khada hi na ho payi"

But there are other forces at play as well on the battlefield and it is through the machinations of Mohini, Rudra's Kakisa, that the two are cornered into undergoing wedding preparations.

"Waise mein purane khyaalothon ka nahi hoon, tum chahe tho mujhe mere naam se bula sakte ho Rudra, ya Jallad kehna jyaada acha lagta hai, bas mujhe kuch pharak nai padta, tere muh se tho wo bhi meetha lagte hai"

"Byah ke pehle mere honewali beendni ki shakal koi nahi dekhega"

Neither wish to wed and they know it so instead they determine that this will be the final battle for supremacy; pushing each other to the limits to determine who will break first.

"Ab tho saare haq hai tujhpe, hone wala pati jo hoon tera"

"Adharmi patni lag rahi hai meri"

"Jal ne ki itna shauk hai na tho hamare shaadi ke baad phero wali aag me khood jana, shadi ke baad kuyn shaadi ki phle hi khud jaaungi"

Revelations of truths and destinies

"Sach suraj ki saman hove beta, saam dalte dalte thodi der chupna jaroori hove, par subah aati hai, suraj nikalta hai aur tab uske ujhale ko phelne se koi na rook sake"

"Jab ek din, mauth achanak samne aakar khade ho jaayegi, par mauth aur tere beech mein nahi aaunga tab ye saare baatein yaad ayenge aur phir pachthayegi tu"

The wedding day arrives and with it brings unexpected revelations for Paro and Rudra.

"Mat ja, mat ja Paro, maar dalega ye tuje mat ja"

"Agar usse kharoj bhi aaya na tejawat, thho vada kartha hoon cheerke rakh doonga"

Parvati's faith in the Thakur is shattered when he divulges the truth of her wedding to Varun and then attempts to kill her.

"Baisa aap sach mein itna na samajh ho ya na samajh hone ka don kar rahe ho"

"Baisa, kab tak moh maya ki bandhano mein jakhre rahoge? Mhari Paro, mharo gaon, mhari jindagi, tyaag do mooh maya ne. Vaise bhi Baisa, aaj thane zaroorat je zyaada janliya hai"

But a feisty Paro escapes and returns to Rudra, ready to cooperate and desperate to seek forgiveness for her disbelief in him.

"Jo pachthava hota hai na, bahuth bhooka hota hai, insaan ko dheere dheere andar se bahut dard deti aur khaa jaata hai phis iska pet nahi bharta"

Yet it is too late, for in her bid for freedom she has betrayed Rudra's belief in her innocence.

"Teen kadam aur tu apne ghar. Teen deen shareer me koi zakhm hove voh khatam. Teen mahine tere saath jo ghata uska dard khatam. Lekin teen janam bhi legi to chup rehekar apne inn logon ke saath jo galath karegi na uska karz nahi uttar payegi"

"Aur the sunlo, Dilsher ya uska janme hue uss bhode main mhare ghar mein kadam nahi rakhne doongi"

A belief that is further shaken when Paro is accused by his family members for attempting to burn his father to death.

"Dhyaanse meri baat sun dobara nahi bolunga. Iss pure duniya mein, iss pure duniya mein akela main hu main, shayad tu khud bhi nahin, jo tujhe jinda rakhna chahta hain"

Despite the accusations levelled at her, Paro remains staunch in her quest for Rudra's forgiveness and the nursing of his father to full health.

"Jab tak aap mhaari raksha ke liye ho tab tak mhare ko kuch nahi ho saktha"

"Mhare ko mhare major saab par pura bharosa hai isliye kissi bhi baat ki chinta nahi hai"

After many upheavals, the truth begins to unfold that Paro is truly innocent and genuine in her guilt.

"Ab dobara main aapko chot nai pahuchane doonga..kyun mhare ko chot pahuchane ka haq sirf aapko hai..mhaare ko bhi nahi"

"Mhare ko samajhne keliye aapko bahut mehnat karni hogi, mhare dil mein utarna hoga joote utaarke"

But a bigger truth is revealed to Paro when she discovers that Rudra is in fact the boy she met so many years ago.

Aap paida hi hua hai mujhe bachane ke liye..

Bewakoof ladki, tera raksha sirf mein kar saktha hoon..chod iska haath aur pakad mera haath..chal mere saath ..aa..

"Kya hai? Inn aakhein mein, iss avaaz mein? Jo itne bezaati aur beruki ki badh bhi kichi chali athi hai? Koi aur hoti to laath maarjaathi"

"Kaash us din humari bus rukhi hi na hoti, kash mai tujhse nila hi nahi hota"

An innocent but costly mistake

"Waise chahe tho Rudra ka naam apn hatheliyon par likhe ya na likhe usse koi pharak nahi padtha kyunki apni kismat me tho tu ne uska naam apne haathon se likh liya hai"

Taking this as sign of their joined destinies, she attempts to win Rudra's jaded heart.

"Bas yahi ek kami rahegi, kaash unka naam aapka naam mein se ek hota!"

"Diktha hai, jis tarah se tu usko choota hai, uske rakshak banta hai, uski parwa karta hai, tu ne usko haq de diya hai rudra, tujh par haq jamane ka"

But his angst runs too deep within him to accept Paro's overtures and he repeatedly spurns her attempts.

"Bhagwan ne mardh teen kisam ke banaye...Teesri kisam ka mardh hota hai janwar. Janwar aur iss kisam ka mardh pe farak itna sa hota hai; janwar ke paas dil hota hai aur unke paas... unke paas dil ke jaga hota hai katare. Andhar hi andhar, khud bhi cheelthe rehete hai aur unhe bhi cheelthe hai jo unke gale parda hota hai. Jaisa mera Rudra"

"Abhi bhi inkaar kar sakthi thi,kar sakti thi, nahi kiya kyunki aapse door rehna tha, shaayad tere bhaagya mein nahi hai mujhse alag rehna, aati hoon mein"

Alas his conniving cousin manages to use one such attempt to portray Rudra and his beloved BSD in a disreputable manner.

"Jaan nikal gayithi mhari ki ek baar fir mhari wajahse aapki naukri paar anch ayegi, ke mhari badtameezi ke wajah se aapko saza milti, main mar jati aur aap mazak hi karte reh jate"

This escalates even further leading to Rudra's suspension and in a state of drunken rage he attempts to take his revenge from the person he believes to be the root of all his problems; Paro.

"Naya kya kiya. Aurat ho na. Tum bhi aur woh bhi. Rishta todke, mudke, wapas na aane ke khasiyat paidha hote ho na tum log. Kuch naya sabhit nahi kiya. Sirf itna sabit kiya ki aurat ho"

He fulfils her wish for them to be joined in matrimony but promises her that this marriage will be one of pain and tears for her.

"Sahi pukara tha uss ladki ne. Jallad ho tum. ~Mention not!"

"Mai jaanti hu jija ki mhara bhyah koi pariyon ki kahaniya wala nahi hai par bhyah toh bhyah hai"

A deserving punishment for ignoring his wishes and forcing her way into his life.
"Mhare ko shanti deta hai, shakti deta hai ye gana,un dino ki yad dilatha hai jab mein khush thi,jab sab theek tha, aur mujhe taklif deta hai gana.. un dino ki yad dilate jine yaad nahi karna chahti"

"Darr mujhse, nafrat kar mujhse. Mujhe dekhke seene mein aag lagti hain na? Yeh darr, yeh nafrat, yeh aag bahot zaroori hain. Kyunki yahi tujhe mujhse alag nahin hone denge aur yahi tujhe jinda bhi rakhenge"

Growing closeness

"Aman bol isko maine BSD join nahi ki iski jaan bachane keliye. Gavaah hai yeh, sirf gavaah"

"Wo rahe, aapki Paro"

"Diktha hai, jis tarah se tu usko choota hai, uske rakshak banta hai, uski parwa karta hai, tu ne usko haq de diya hai rudra, tujh par haq jamane ka"

Their vows of marriage were filled with hateful words and vengeful promises but as the days go by Paro and Rudra are drawn closer and closer.

"Sunne mein kitna accha lagta hai na? Pehle pyaar fir shaadi par yeh sab sirf sapno mein hi hota hai, asliyat mein to rishtaa rishtaa hota hai aur ek rishte ki dor aurat ko hi sambhalni hoti hai"

"Hamare baare mein jab baat hoti thi ,tho tu thaara maara karta tha, aaj tu ne usse apna saath jod liya"

"Thari aankhon mein dekha tha maine, dekha tha wo bechaini, wo tadap, jo tu uskeliye mehsoos kar raha tha, dekha tha maine thari aawaz mein uske liye phikar"

After all, how long can one fight one's destiny?

"Apne hone wali beevi ke liye tofa laaya tha..tere naap ki hongi kyunki tere kalayiyon ka naap mujhe patha hai"

"Ab woh mujhse nafrat nahi karte, kuch to badla hain unme aur iske liye unka gussa mujhe manzoor hai"

But fate can be cruel as well and Kakisa's ploys are almost successful in snatching away Rudra's life.

"Lagta hai dhua kumari ka hawan kund ke chaaro taraf phere kaatne ka mann hai isiliye agni dev ne gusse me aakar iske gore gore hathon mein aise khrod dikhaa diya"

"Bachchi hainjo khel rahi thi aur kissi ne mujhe kuch bataya kyu nahi, bhabisa aap iska khayal nahi rakh sakti thi"

"Kuch haani ka vrat rakha hai kya? Agar tereko kuch ho jata toh mera kya..."

That is until, Parvati promises to her Bholenath that she will forsake the most beloved thing in her life, her Rudra, if his life is saved and he fully recovers.

"Woh tera pati nahi hai"

"Tu mera patni hai"

Her prayers are answered and her husband saved.

"Jab tak mein jinda hoon tu usse lekar nai ja sakta yahan se"

"Jab jindagi ki raste thode kaai bhari ho na, tho phisalke jameen par girne ke baad rone ke bajay hasa kar, dard kam hoga"

But at what cost?

Naye rishte banane se pehle puraane rishton ka raaz chupaana nahi chahiye, Rudra

"Bhoolja apne atith ko Rudra aur apne aaj mein jee, utaar fek iss boj ko apne kandho se warna yeh kandhe jhook jayege iss boj se"

Rudra Pratap Ranawat is the only son of Dilsher and Mala. He is a mixture of different shades which makes his character even more intruiging. After his mother abandoned him he became a hearltless and ruthless BSD officer [Major] who is unaffected by feelings. He is a patriotic and honest officer who can sacrifice his life for his motherland. He shares a bitter-sweet relation with his father. Even though he loves his father, he fails to show it. His job is a part of his soul and snatching that away would mean him dying. Although he shared a physical relationship with Laila but he doesn't love her. His dull life changed overnight after meeting his destiny, Paro. He is married to Paro but yet to realize his love for her.

Parvati Rudra Pratap Ranawat urf Paro is of slight built, of an unusual beauty that makes her both innocent and alluring. Her want for a calm and content atmosphere create a misconception, hiding her many talents. She can take what life has to give in stride, choosing to live in today, but her easily earned trust brings about problems for herself and others around her. Her spirit and fight do not protect her from the claws of nightmares every so often. However, she is one who loves with all her heart, which craves to love and to be loved. She can be diplomatic when needed to, especially when concerning her better half, but is easily irritated and quite sensitive, traits which are revealed usually in the presence of her better half once again. There is also a hidden bout of courage within her that is seen only when necessary. This child-woman can be outspoken in one moment yet beseechingly shy in the next. She is many things, but it seems that jealous is not one of them. This ungodly women, a walking contradiction waiting to be discover, is none other than Paro.

Thakur Param Singh Tejawat is man who is considered to be a "God" of Birpur. He is the Thakur of Birpur, who is very shrewd and cunning. The whole village, including his wife is unaware of his arms smugling business. From past a few years he had fed poison to the villagers about BSD. Every year he arranges a charade of marriage which is a medium for him to gain the arms and send money to the other side of border. He had killed Bindi as she got to know about his deeds and tried to kill Paro several times but he failed. Currently he's not traceable as he fled away with his wife, whom he loves a lot because the BSD officers are about to catch him as they had got proof against him.

Mala is Rudra's mother and Dilsher's ex-wife. She is beautiful, humble and caring by nature. For some reason [not revealed yet] she abandoned Rudra and Dilsher and ran away from Chandangarh. After many years, it was shown that she is Param Singh Tejawat's wife and the Thakurain of Birpur. She shares a motherly relation with Paro and always cared about her. She misses her son, Rudra a lot and still kept her contacts with Danveer, who was her brother-in-law. She's unaware of Tejawat being a smuggler and trusts him blindly. Also she has no clue about Rudra and Paro's marriage.

Dilsher Ranawat is man, roughened by the years spent in his own, personal hell. A twist of fate has left him lonely, full of animosity and hatred all directed towards women, beautiful women that is. His ego and dignity deny him to extend a hand for help in any situation, even if that meant eating burnt, tasteless food for the rest of his life. However, thanks to his stubborn, impulsive son, he was met with new possibilities, ones that included good food. Entrapped by this butterfly of a girl, his life took a turn for the better. Returning to a brother that out up with his endless list of complexities, he began to shed a bit of his humongous pride. And this man, like hardened wax that begun to melt in the light.

Danveer Ranawat is a BSD officer, yet strangely it seems as if he is a man who abhors aggression and violence. However, if needed he will fight for his family. One who enjoys agreeable company, on the quiet side of the spectrum. One look at his wife and you see that he is of tolerant behavior. He aims to be reasonable, balanced and honest. A loyal man, one in whom you can find warmth and kindness. Seemingly accepting of life and it's ways. There's a sensitive side to him as well, especially when it comes to his family. He is a calm and kind man, who is obviously in the wrong career field.

Mohini Danveer Ranawat is nothing sort of a snake's distant relative, her sharp eyes and poisonous tongue were proof. She is an ingenious strategist, evil and destructive, a dangerous combo. An unhealthy lust for wealth and prosperity nurtures within her. One who finds everything inadequate till it is impeccably ideal. Her distaste for laziness and idleness is not well hidden nor is her want calculative control. Plotting for her is like breathing for the rest of us, essential and easy. Although a little devil and his smoke always seem to interfere nowadays. She is unsympathetic woman, bringing past and pain back like a storm.

Samrat Ranawat is Mohini and Danveer's son. He has a younger brother and sister also he is Rudra's cousin. He is a bit workaholic, snesible but always stays mum in front of his mother, Mohini. Even though he can't go against his mother, when she taunts him and Maithili he still loves his wife and family a lot. He likes to stay away from any kind of trouble and household fights.

Maithili Samrat Ranawat is the eldest daughter-in-law of the Ranawat house and Samrat's wife. She is a sweet person in nature and shares a sisterly bond with Paro and Sunehri. She is very obedient, helpful and loves her family and husbad immensely. She stays timid in front of her mother-in-law, Mohini as she keeps on taunting her for not being a mother. She is supportive mostly and deeply cares for Paro.

Sumer Ranawat is perhaps the snake's stupid distance relative. Seems he has a knack for making foes rather than friends as opposed to other boys his age. His tractor like heart and sugary sweet words are not enough for any women to fall prey to. Like mother like son, he has a undying lust for money, which seems to be his true love. He is not very pedantic in nature, thus leading to the failure of his many schemes. For the amount of scorn resting him in, he is very trustworthy of his mother, an attribute that ultimately led to his downfall. He is the money minded man , and now lives in some alley making friends with mosquitoes.

Sunehri Ranawat is cheerful, full of happiness, made of everything sweet. She is undemanding and very understanding, especially towards their new house guest. Impressionistic is her middle name as she everything warm and kind, like a big, bright, unmissable sun. A dreamer is what she is, dreaming of love, of fairy tales, of every wishful thing out there. She is one to love easily and hopelessly. Her nasty mother and brother have no effect on her love for life and unending optimism. She is a sugary bubble of sunshine.

Laila is a bold and interesting character. By profession she is a dancer and shares physical relation with Rudra from past 8 years. So far we didn't get to see much of her scenes but we can conclude that she loves Rudra love immensely and can go to any extent for him, even killing someone won't matter to her. In Last few episodes we are seeing how she is hell bend on destroying Rudra and Paro's relationship and not leaving any scope of physically hurting Paro. Lately she entered Rudra's house and is playing a Pawn of Mohini.

Amandeep urf Aman is man of many qualities, loyalty, kindness, and humor are just a few to be named. There is a cheeriness about him despite the cruelties he is witness to as a BSD officer. Far more reasonable and tolerant than his stubborn and angry superior. He has proven himself to be reliable in any situation, whether it be within the confines of BSD headquarters, in the arid desert sands, or in the Ranawat haveli. His quiet and calm composure given away nothing of his teasing, humorous and sarcastic side. He is a dedicated man, who has proved to be just as good of a friend and brother as he is an officer, maybe even a future chudi-wala.

Bindi lived in Birpur and was Paro's best friend. She was full of life and enjoyed life thoroughly and had a bubly nature and was talkative at times. She was killed brutally by Thakur-sa as she got to know about Thakur being an arms smuggler.

Normally father-son relationship are considered to be the best one but this one is different. Rudra and Dilsher, the father son duo had faced a lot of hardships after Mala abandoned them forever. Eventually, Dilsher had drowned in depression and fed venom to his son against beautiful women referring to his wife and Rudra as a child gulped it all down remembering each and every word which probably scarred his future. But later, when Dilsher was aware of his mistake he tried to rectify it but alas! He was late as his chirpy son transformed into a heartless one. Despite everything, this relation stands out as no matter what, both of them stand by each other's side. Even though Rudra loves his father a lot, he fails to show it but Dilsher gets his concern for him which is hidden between his harsh words as their understanding is much more deep than any other thing.

To be honest, in this era, no one accepts a stranger as a family member. But Dilsher proved it wrong by accepting Paro as his daughter and made her a part of his small family. Paro who had always craved for fatherly love, finally got it from Dilsher, who was a father for her. Dilsher had always stood by Paro's side and at times gave her the right advice. When Dilsher was in coma, after Rudra Paro was the one who was completely shocked and broken. She really meant the word "Bapusa" and she could do anything for her bapusa. When the entire family, including Rudra held Paro responsible for Dilsher's vulnerable state, Dilsher was the one who said that Paro could never push him near death. Their bonding made this relation more unique and strong.

Mala is like a mother to Parvati. She brought her up and taught her how to be a respectful woman. Paro might not be her own blood but she never considered her to be some other person's daughter. Their relationship proved that it is not necesary to born from a woman's womb to be a daughter. Paro respects Mala more than her own aunt. Mala took all the responsibility of Paro's marriage and was shattered when she came to know how Paro lost her first husband Varun. After that when she was taken by the BSD and then suddenly there was no knows of Paro and the other villagers refused to find Paro, she secretly appointed a detective to know whether Paro was alive and safe.

Soul sister seems like and understatement to describe the relationship that is shared between the two daughter-in-laws of Ranawat family. There bond is so strong that they dont need to explain each and everything to each other they come to know seeing or feeling each other's distress. One thing is for sure they stood for each other when the world went against them and time has proven that they were ready to risk their lives to help out the other. A Beautiful bond between them makes us believe that two daughter-in-laws of a family could actually love each other unconditionally. Maithili and Paro are the greatest example of such relationship.

Almost all the senior-junior relationship relies on hatred but Aman-Rudra is different from all. Aman, who works under Rudra, trusts his boss a lot and vice versa. When the seniors failed to give Rudra the interrogation letter, Rudra handed Aman the fake one. Aman didn't question and did the job that his sir wanted him to execute. Also, Aman had helped Rudra in accomplishing the most dreadful case. Even during the award ceremony speech, Rudra had stated that without Aman this case was impossible and considered him as his friend. The trust between them helped their bond to stand out between the other relations.
Paro and Bindi shared a beautiful bond of friendship. They were childhood friends and they have grown up together. A sister like never before would be the right phrase to use for these to crazy friends. They shared their happiness and well as sorrow with each other and she was Paro's only friend she had before Paro got married to Varun. But their friendship was short lived because she was killed by Tejawat when she came to know about the arms trading secret. The death of her best friend felt as if she lost one of Paro's body part.

A bus is shown travelling some where in the North West Rajasthan border, on the way to Birpur village, where the bus stops for sometime, the driver asks the passengers to refresh to start journey again.. Suddenly the firing starts leaving all the passengers in the bus dead with in minutes including Paro's parents. Paro is shown playing with her friend rukmini, the blue butterfly when her sister calls her..Paro is shocked and shattered to see her parents dead, and being burnt in front of her eyes. Paro is consoled by her aunt and uncle. On the other side,140km from Birpur, Rudra is shown in the school. His classmates make fun of Rudra talking about his mom, that she eloped leaving him.. This irks Rudra and he fights in the class. Rudra's father Dilsher says him to remember one thing- that beautiful women can never be owned by anyone, neither father ,nor husband, not even children. Rudra is hurt that his mom left him..Rudra and Paro buses which are going in opposite direction stops at a same place. Paro sees Rudra , who is crying and throws her doll to him to play with and her bus moves, while rudra watches .. This is the first encounter of Rudra-Paro in their childhood. Time passes 15 years later Paro is shown running in the desert, paro sees a camel hurt and seeks for help. A BSD officer comes there and lits fire around paro, who turn out to be Rudra in her dream..
The care, which little Paro shown for crying Rudra by giving away her doll inspite of being hurt herself on loss of her parents, makes episode the best..

Paro comes back to consciousness as the vicious battle around her has just finished only to see her husband being shot dead and then to be approached by the man who killed him like he was a brutal predator. Paro screams. And then she has been taken in to custody and dragged in to the BSD and thrown in a heap on to the floor and she loses her consciousness.
Tejwat is like a caged lion as he imparts what has happened to his wife and she is broken hearing about Paro's fate. Paro hallucinates that she is a small child and that her parents would come back to her with her doll and once again loses her consciousness as the shocks of the day is too much for her.
Rudra tries to treat his wounds and changes the shirt and comes out with Aman to pay last respect to the dead soldiers. And while he salutes them he becomes emotional. Paro finally regains consciousness and calls out to her mamisa, Takurainmasa and Bindi and finally breaks down crying seeing the handcuffs on her hands.. A dead soldier's mother comes and curses Rudra for being the reason her son is dead and wishes that he never would have his mother even at his deathbed.
Rudra is thinking of his past and just when he leaned on the glass partition to take his sadness away, unknowingly paro touched his hand on his hand only the glass partition separating them. Both of their cheeks touched only to be separated by 19 mm glass partiction. Rudra gasped back seeing her through and backs out. Paro on the other hand couldn't see him because the glass was a one way mirror from her side. Rudra looks on in fury as Paro weeps and finally slithers down the wall shattered.
He entered the compartment in rage and paro recalled he was the very man who stood in front of her who took away her husband's life.

Rudra comes back to BSD swaying a little and asks after Paro. Paro is lying on the floor dehydrated and thirsty when some officer offers her a glass of water. She takes it in both hands and drinks it thirstily when Rudra stumbles in to the room. Seeing him a shocked and terrified Paro drops the glass and backs away like a wounded animal and Rudra takes a step towards her and falls down. Paro backs away scared and the other officer goes away to call some other officers to help. When they come back they see Paro with Rudra's gun in her hands pointing it at him. The previous officer tells her that she is not a killer. And she sobs out telling she is not, but he is.. he killed everyone, he burned everyone. And that officer reasons out to her telling that even if she killed him the people that died will not come back. Paro is coaxed in to lowering the gun. And the moment he turns to ask the other officers to stop pointing the guns at Paro he turns only to see Paro having turned the gun on her head about to shoot herself. And that elderly man tries to talk her out of it explaining to her that there is no sin greater than taking one's own life and if she remained alive she would be able to prove that she was not wrong and one day will be able to go back home. Paro cries and drops the gun and is again frightened when it goes off and falls down and cries and the tears fall on Rudra waking him. And when he moves she is terrified and moves back and the BSD officer tells her not to be scared and directs the other officers to take Rudra away to the hospital. Paro is left terrified and crying.

Doctor has treated Rudra for the injury and he demands to have Paro brought to the same room and asks Aman to do it. The doctor after telling him about the foolishness of not getting the wound treated goes away. A nurse is taking off Paro's jewellery from her hand so that the IV can be inserted. The doctor comes and sends her away and asks Paro to close her eyes and go to sleep as she is weak. Then he is taking a poison filled injection and is about to insert it to her when Aman comes in and interrupts. Meanwhile the old BSD officer talks to Rudra and reveals him to be his uncle and Rudra shouts at him to hide his feelings and sends him off.

Paro is shifted to the room and she is unconscious. The doctor gives Rudra some medicine telling that they are antibiotics but they are actually sedatives. And just as he is about to take the medicine Paro starts having a nightmare and sobs and cries out asking someone to not put logs on her parents and not to burn them. She almost pushes herself out of the bed in her hysterical state and begs her mamisa to let her go. Seeing her struggling Rudra comes there and gets on to the bed holding her down tightly trying to control her seizure and whispering her 'shant' and she calms down slightly after she grabs hold of his Rudraksha.

Mythili was deeply hurt of not being a mother, even after five years of marriage. She decides to adopt a child..Paro comes to know about mythili's intention of adopting a child and supports her..Paro says mythili to ask mohini's permission regarding that. At the dinner table, mythili takes all her courage to speak up and expresses her idea of adopting a child, of becoming a mom, to mohini.. On hearing that, mohini rages at mythili for bringing such topic in front of her , Paro tries to go in middle but Rudra stops her.. Mythili says that she visited an orphanage too and almost begs mohini to permit her..mohini taunts her that she will cut her tongue for speaking like that, on hearing this Paro frees her hand from Rudra, and speaks on behalf of Maythili, Paro says that she was also adopted by her mamisa and tries to convince mohini.. Mohini bursts out in anger and raises her hand to slap paro, whilst Rudra comes in between and takes the slap.
Rudra, taking slap instead of Paro, protecting her and warning mohini not to repeat again, Rudra's care for Paro is the best part of the episode..

Mohini calls Tejwat and Mala answers and they barely miss each other over the phone. As the haldi ceremony starts Suneri brings Paro out and as Rudra's shirt arm gets stuck in the curtain divider Paro removes it from it so it will not tear. the ceremony starts with Maitili and Suneri applying haldi on Paro and playfully smearing her with it. Kakisa starts Rudra's haldi. And then Laila comes and covering her face applies haldi on Rudra, he is suspicious but is stopped from following her when Samrat stops him. Laila goes to a corner and mixes some compound in to the haldi telling that once this acidic haldi touches Paro's skin, her moonlike skin will only have blemishes.
And as she goes to Paro and applies handi all over her and whispers to her about her forgetting the advice she gave to her about the 3 types of men after Paro recognizes her. Paro is agitated and a little upset at the harsh things Laila told her.
Rudra stops Laila asking what she did and meanwhile Maitili is taking care of Paro fixing her hair, going to feed her, etc. When Laila tries to bluff through it Rudra tries to touch the haldi and Laila panics and reveals that is was poisoned. Rudra is shocked and runs off to Paro and drags her unceremoniously out of the ceremony as she continues to protest. And as she shriefs he dumps a bucket of water on her and then pushes her against a wall and fixes a line of water above her so it showers her. Paro struggles and pushes Rudra off. He tells her about the poison in the haldi and she doesn't believe him at first. But then her skin begins to sting and burn and she turns scared childlike eyes at him and he is frightened as he runs to her asking if it is burning. And when she confirms to it he grabs her arms and starts rubbing the acidic haldi away. Paro too allows him to do it after initially trying to help. Rudra washes her face like her is washing a child and then turns her around to wash her back. Laila comes there when Rudra is clearing her back and she is furious and then shouts at Paro and pushing Rudra away from her grabs a knife and tries to plunge it in to Paro. Paro screams 'Rudra' and he immediately comes between them and holds Laila's hand and pushes her off. Laila's head hits a steal bucket and is bleeding. She is incredulous that Rudra hurt her for Paro's sake and tries to tell Paro about the relationship b/w the 2 of them. And Rudra doesn't allow him and he instead wraps up Paro gently in a cloth so that her see-through clothes does not make her uncomfortable and takes her away from there. He leaves her at the entrance asking her to go inside and wait in the safety of Suner's room.

Laila says that she is in love with Rudra and he is asking her is she is insane and that he doesn't believe in feelings like love. And then Laila questions him as to what is between him and Paro if its not love? Rudra is shocked.

Paro and Bindi were attacked by the men in the chagda for Thakur Tejawat's money while on their way back to Birpur after taking Paro's wedding attire.Throwing Bindi off the chagda in the process. Satisfied with the money they attack Paro who begs to be let free, just then Rudra happens to pass by on his bike. Seeing him gives Paro a little hope and she screams begging him to help her. At first Rudra remains unaffected and rides away but could he actually leave her like that and go? Obviously not! He stops a little further ahead and waits till the chagda reaches him and in full force pulls the driver off the chagda. He beats up the goons one after another till then Paro manages to escape from the man and runs with all her might towards Rudra dropping the mirror which was her gift midway. Rudra immediately catches hold of Paro and puts her behind him shielding her while she unknowingly clutches onto his arm. Her eyes then fall onto the mirror as she sees herself being protected by this man and realizes that she has been holding his arm with so much trust like she knew him since forever. Staring at her savior, she quickly takes her hand back and moves a little more behind silently in the protective shield her savior offered her. One of the goons pulls out a gun and shoots at them just then Rudra quickly wraps his arms around Paro as they fall to the ground while she tightly holds the collar of his jacket as they keep rolling and finally come to a stop. They stare at each other while Paro quietly removes her hand off his collar. The goons try running away making Rudra run behind them unfortunately Rudra gets hit by a bullet and as they continue firing Rudra's bike explodes creating huge flames and Paro watches frightened and is reminded of her nightmares while Rudra run towards her and catches her just in time as she faints in his arms. He lifts her up carrying her to safety.

Rudra-Paro's marriage rituals start.. Disher gifts Paro, a necklace of Rudra's mom to wear as her blessing on the occasion of Ganesh sthapana puja..Later after the ritual finishes, Rudra sees Paro, who is trying to remove the chain.. Rudra calls Paro, and asks her to stop..Paro says he has no right to call her like that, Rudra says he has all the rights on her, since he is her would be husband now.. He says her, that she can call him with any name as she wish as Rudra or Jallad.. Rudra holds her hand, touches her and goes close to her, thus helping her to remove the chain. .Paro tries to leave from there but Rudra holds her hand and makes her wear the bangles he bought for his would be wife while kaki sees them..
Rudra bringing bangles for Paro and making her wear them, is the best part of the scene..

Paro spots Thakur Tejawat's man who was kidnapped by Mohini and Sumer quietly make his way out of the house. On seeing Paro the man flings a plate towards her and she gets hit on her forehead. The man makes a quick escape while Paro follows him and collides with Rudra who enters right then. Rudra notices the cut on her forehead which was enough to make him worried. He hurriedly goes to her and places his finger on the cut in order to stop the bleeding. Paro squirms in his hold,Rudra tries explaining to her but in vain, his finger accidentally moves from her forehead to her parting filling it with blood. Rudra watches stunned as he slowly realizes he filled her parting with blood knowing fully what it symbolizes. They argue over the situations in the house, Paro turns to leave but is stopped midway when he addresses her as Parvati Rudra Pratap Ranawat..astonished she turns to him and argues that they are not yet married and by god's grace they will never get married..Rudra cuts her talk and guides her by the shoulders till they come to face a mirror and he shows her the blood in the form of sindoor on her parting and exclaims that she looked like his wife already. Paro stares at her reflection not believing that destiny had tied them together yet again.

Rudra-Paro's Mehndi celebrations begins..Mohini asks Paro how will she write Rudra's name on her mehandi either Rudra or just R.. Paro doesn't want that to happen, she goes to kitchen and tries to hurt herself, by placing her hand on hot tawa so that mehandi can not be applied on her hand..Rudra sees this and rushes to her, washes her hand with cold water.. Rudra taunts Paro for hurting herself to avoid mehandi..Everyone thinks that mehandi can not be applied now..Rudra applies mehndi on Paro's hand with his hand, saying that its herbal and is actually good for burnt hand..Later he writes R on her wrist..
Rudra applying mehndi on Paro's hand with his hand in anokhe way makes it one of the best scenes..

Rudra and Paro arrive at Jaipur to attend the Ball organized by his officer VK Singh on his marriage anniversary..Rudra introduces Paro to Mrs. Singh, Geetanjali, and asks her to stay in room as she is new to such parties.. But Geetanjali pressurizes Paro to get ready , on which Paro agrees and comes down to join the party.. Rudra totally losts on seeing beauty of Paro..😳 Rudra holds Paro close and makes her dance, together they dance on a romantic number.. After the dance, on the name of celebration along with Vk singh and Geetanjali, Paro and Rudra consume alcohol..Under the effect of alcohol Rudra kisses Paro (hand) ..☺️

Congratulations!!! I remember the date, it was 17th Sep 2013 - Sanaya's b'day last year when the first article of Sanaya's new show appeared and I remember I lived on a cloud of euphoria as I managed to contact the Times journalist who wrote it and she confirmed it to me on FB!! That is the very first memory related to this show. And the 2nd was Sanaya's hint in her b'day interview to TS which kinda made me up my hopes even more!!
And them the trickle of articles started and only when SBS through a complete fluke managed to capture Sanaya's look test shoot moments on the sets of NF's DDEJ sets that I knew that the show was definitely on!! And that was when Ashish's name came to the contenders list to the first time among the list of other names that were mentioned till then.
And finally after a long list of auditions, news articles and many actor names Ashish was finalized opposite Sanaya. And then the trickle of the concept, and other crazy speculations started and we just went crazy waiting for this show!! It was sheer madness when we went through discussion threads at the speed of lightening chatting about the show.
Finally the 1st promo released so unexpectedly on a Friday night and WOW!! That was sheer shock and it left us speechless, cz whatever we expected this was way better!! JUST AMAZING!!
And after that there was no looking back after the next 2 promos, magical theatrical trailer and many interviews, press conferences later we came to 30th Dec 2013 when this amazing tale unfolded on TV for the first time!!

It left us spellbound with amazing cinematography, breathtaking visuals, a gripping storyline that was like no other on Indian TV and a talented cast of actors and a very dedicated crewthat made it all possible!
Paro..innocent naive Paro, so serene and sweet.. gentle yet strong.. resilient.. and the foil to the rage and fire that was to be Rudra.
And that journey began and from Bindi to Aman to Maitili jija to the Ranwat family to the Takur & Takurainsa.. each of these character became part of our lives. And there were many days when we were waited with baited breath for 9.30 to arrive and the next episode to unfold..

So finally its amazing to realize 100 amazing episodes have passed and we have reached this milestone in the story.. So at this moment I want to take the time to wish my doll Sanaya, all the other actors including Ashish, Geetanjali, etc, the entire creative and production team, Colors channel Congratulations and all the very best!!

Like it turned 100 today, may this be the first milestone of many more impressive milestones to come!! May the beautiful story of Paro & Rudra unfold and engulf us in its magic..

Lots of love and wishes!! 🤗
