Hi Mansi,
I am short of words today.
The episode we saw yesterday made me just speechless. A lot has been said about the episode and superb acting of the leads. So, i ll not repeat it.
But, yesterday, i again thought in my mind, Why do we remember THIS MAN after 450 years.?. And, when i look at the achievements and reforms of him, it makes me go BERSERK at those who spread nonsense regarding him. Actually, i had a debate with some 'communal' so-called 'preachers' of history who were spreading all nonsense about him in the library i visit, labelling him as an 'outsider' in India and spewing all crap about him. Just vented out there. So, that effect is visible in my writeup. :p It's true that at times he DID some acts which were quite shocking and brutal, but that was Early part in his life. No one is BORN perfect. He changes slowly. Even Ashoka underwent a reformation after Kalinga massacre. And, we remember him for his 'dhamma' not the brutality, as his greatness surpassed his negative acts 'early' in his life. Similarly, Jalal is on way to become Akbar, and there is much more to his credit which surpasses those negative acts. Lol. Thanx for allowing me to vent out.
I am eagerly waiting for the future such reforms. How can a person achieve so much in 1 birth.?. How can a person who was out on an agenda to win the Hindustan have a unique and beautiful love story side by side. He had many wives/ladies BUT only she had the 'claim' to his heart. It amazes me the wonder Akbar was.!. Equally and ably supported by his wife. Hats off. For me there is NO doubt, that Harka Bai was a GREAT GREAT GREAT influence in his life that she was an eyesore to the bigots who tried eliminating her from history, but not successful. It's evident from some of his reforms later like the Sati, etc. which DID HAVE her contribution, but as you said, it was also the greatness in Jalal that made him apply them making him comparable to the Insan-e-Kamil. Even today it's tough to introduce reforms and battle the 'religion' factor and such things happened in 16th centur. Imagine the opposition he must have faced. Making such reforms going against the clergy and not asking his wife to convert. These are not minor acts.!!!.
Sharing one more bit from history. When he passed away in 1605, BOTH Hindus and Muslims CRIED at his tomb.!!!!!!. This very thought makes it clear what he was 450 years back, and found place in hearts of one and all irrespective of religion, we RARELY find such people even TODAY. Quite Eager to watch how Jalal turns into Akbar, including the 'influence' of Harka Bai among 'other' people in his life. Blessed were Akbar-HK and blessed are we to watch these immortal legends on our screens. Add to this the beauty of Mughal Court in presence of the Navratans.
Did you notice, Munim Khan was speaking the language of maulvis.?. Another hint for us.
Very unhappy with Zee. Why don't the promote such awesome episodes.!!!!. I fail to understand the mentality of the Marketing dept.
M i the only one feeling that the Creative team has underwent some change or revamp.?.
Forgot to thank you for these amazing writeups daily, which adds to our watching pleasure. Awesome.
