suicide was something i could never come to terms with. very weak writing. he needed to be driven to a point to say what he had to... well, the creators of the characters ought to have found a more convincing scenario.

i loved "aur hum..." both dialogue and rendition. and the look in barun's eyes, coalesces all time and says more than anything words ever can.

i know that lavanya thing was just too weak. i tried hard to rationalise. didn't ring true. in fact, that was the issue, he did not have that feeling for her...

this episode and the next, as i just wrote to rhea, were actually asr's episode to me. without that powerful acting... i might have actually stopped watching the show around this time.

just made no sense.

and totally damaged khushi's character. her credibility.

but there was always that acting. and he managed to create an idea of passionate love that had me so completely sold.

how could asr be expected to have a calm chat with khushi about what he saw. and yet, in the episode straight after terrace he does make a move to talk to her, but anjali calls him... and even if he had spoken to her, as you rightly say, he would not have believed... i actually rather liked him not believing her, i love that sequence... so desperately wanting to and then not being able to... felt like what he would do... and felt real.

at gh we finally lost khushi. that original girl will not return... that will always sadden me.

The initial Khushi tried to make brief comebacks when she said in next epi that he doesn't deserve an explanation.. I truly loved that immensely hurt Khushi.. I am still not sure about the airport, if I liked it or not.. is it too painful to watch these two get separated... or is she too passive.. but yes we we officially lost khushi here..
I don't know if I could ever stop watching this love story how ever it stooped for the love of that intial asr and Khushi.. it was too powerful that could mask all dire imperfections later on..
asr is an out and out author backed role.. and yes acting infused those extra colors perhaps even writers couldn't foresee.. it was only and only viewer's fans gain..

thanks for reading 244. and i love the thought in pink. he has a powerful positive core... all his darkness and "uprooted" (nice word) sense of goodness may be there, but deep deep down, he is a creator, a man who makes... a positive personality... and he has a belief in a complete utter goodness, his mother's image is that isn't it... this sundari is somewhere in his imagination, maybe just as a longing... he does not look at it or speak of it... he pooh poohs it, did he always protest too much?... and quietly nurtures his plants, waits for the flowers, thinking and dreaming of what...

intriguing beautiful man.

so we are watching the love story of a rodent and a cockroach 😆 😆 and that too again. 😆

/QUOTE]

Just like that blue is figment of our imagination.. Kh is asr's perhaps.. you are so right he is so powerful positive at core..I see this question many times officially unofficially.. is it possible in real life to love/ live with some one like asr.. my answer has always been a resounding yes.. generally people tend to say no becos men with such hot temper seldom has a soft core .. but if he does like this man.. why can't he be livable with?? random thought.. but I don't think it is unrealistic at all...

"Safed kameez pe jilebi ki tarah hai" .. Who thinks of these dialogues? She shrieked and almost tore apart my ear drum while he stood as confused as ever. Arnav Singh Raizada. A name like a canon and is here to finish me off with a screw driver.. Actually girl, ask us. He doesn't even need that screwdriver, a look, a smirk, an eyebrow wriggle is enough to finish us off for good.

I'm laughing Rhea, you have completely become deewani of my sexy boy. i hope your hubby darling is not around.😆

Finally we see her as she stands making jilebis..I have missed that.."bheriye aur hirni ki larai".. Lion fell in love with the lamb.. Twilight.. Why is it always this romanticism that make a dangerous hero luring and a virginal innocent beauty worth rooting for!

The actors don't get to do it regularly on the show but use this chance to add in all the melodrama and over the top acting as they cry over her cold lifeless body. Not forgetting even Om Prakhashji, Lakshmiji, she stands remembering them all. She has touched everyone's life. If a girl is dreaming why not dream about Salmanji missing her as well! But the laad governor whose life she hasn't only touched but reshaped, remolded, metamorphosed has only two words to say.. "What the!" .. How she loves the man as is! Thinks of him with his characteristic what the. Popular dialogue from an iconic Indian film.. "koi pyaar karein toh tumse karein..tum jaise ho waise karein".. If someone loves he should love you .. just the way you are.. And on the tv continues Kamlesh Khabari.. "What the..kya iske peeche bhi koi raaz hai hai?" Oh yes Kamlesh ji if you do manage to decipher the spell that these words manage to cast when uttered by one Arnav Singh Raizada do let the entire world's female population in on the secret. We have been trying to understand the effect of these two elementary words on us for too long now.

One of my favourite scenes today.. "Aunty you sure ki wo thik hai? usne dinner bhi thik se nai kiya" .. I am grinning like a fool. He is worried about her and confiding in her amma. And ma consoles him a bit but is less worried. She has lived enough years with Khoosie bitiya to overlook these bouts of sanakaness. Haha the husband taking a glass of milk for his wife where else but in IPK? Its late and he wants amma to sleep. And ma smiles her loving smile. Cups his face in her hand. Again that ease.. A mother and son.. He doesn't need to call her ma as long as he respects her this way, loves her daughter this way, allows her to silently shower affection on him this way.

how sweet! he has really become the part of the family. But I still wish if he would've called her mom.

No longer a fight to deny his concern for his wife. In fact if something were to happen to her his very breath would leave him. ..saasein ruk jayengi.. He kill her? Even when he was blinded by rage he chose to marry her, not physically hurt her or have nothing to do with her but instead bind himself firmly to her as close as possible. Sanaya hugging her knees, brows scrunched in a frown, rocking looks adorable. He brings her milk and with his characteristic endearing gruffness tells her to drink it. "Tum thik ho?" .. Well main thik nai hun if anyone cares to ask. He wants to get a doctor. His instinct shouting at him something is terribly wrong. He wants to do something, anything, everything possible, for her. She stalls him and he concedes defeat for now. Knows he can't win against his jhalli.

His concern was a treat to watch. Asr was madly in love with this girl, but unfortunately couldn't trust her.

We get to see them together on the rickety bed again.. This time her sleep is all but stolen.. Sometime during the long night somehow the crazy girl manages to strangle herself in her sleep and he wakes up startled. Voice the right tone of drowsy and alert as he registers the weird sight. His hand raises of its accord to reassure his wife. But she scurries away from reach. Just a bad dream she reiterates and clutches the pillow to herself as she lies down again. Why the distance? Why can't she hold him? In a few days a time will come when they will be forced to stay apart for unbearable days. For now atleast all of us can savour their time together.

The nerve wrecking night of expecting the worst over. She wakes up before him. In true bollywood drama queen fashion she decides to end her life on her own terms rather than live in constant fear of getting killed by her very own laad governor.

sacrificing devi!!!!!

Even if I stretch my imagination past its limit I find it difficult to digest that however gullible this girl can be she is willing to actually consider her Arnavji is planning to kill her. What is apparent on the surface isn't all there is to this. Sohara also mentioned it and I felt the same. They may have a silly track to bring her to this decision but perhaps deep down inside Khushi is tired of fighting her feelings. The effort to not be loving and not crave love back too much to bear. A despair too strong to ignore that her own darling Anravji is not truly hers. Perhaps she fears that she isn't enough for him. That he would be happier with someone like Lavanya. And she is willing to end her life than contemplate living like this when he doesn't want her. He is her life and never have I been more certain of this than now when even for this silly reason she decides to end her life just because of him. She doesn't run away but wants to end it all. Sometimes in love we get so muddled that the smallest things blow out of proportion. Everything exaggerates and magnifies till our heart feels it acutely. No proof for any of this just a vague nagging feeling and strange assurance that Khushi actually has a bleeding heart..

bleeding heart, that's the word. she couldn't bear the loathe from her love. in that case to lead a life becomes burden. khushi loved Arnav so much that she preferred to die for the sake of her love.when i broke up with my boy friend i also thought to kill myself. but my strong believe on my Allah helped me to think positive. In that moment of life Khushi had no reason to live.

Still ending her life?!! What is this sweet girl thinking?!!! She sits down to leave her legacy behind on the day she has decided to leave it all once and for all..Kind of like ASR of old days I can't decide if I want to shout at her or smirk and indulge her.. And at the same time I want to sing for her a new song I love.. "Offo isse isse daat ke bhagau..offo ya ya seene se lagau? Sar pe Baithau ya thappar lagau.. Offo" . A childish act whether she is serious or not and yet Sanaya successfully conveys that indescribable fleeting something that makes your heart melt at Khushi's innocence.

sanaya is a brilliant actress. I love her so much.

What does an 18 year old loving girl leave behind if she decides to live no longer? I hate the fact that we see Khushi contemplating such a drastic action. Very very disturbing. An act of utter desperation. Impossible to comprehend what the man would do if his actions actually drove Khushi to such an extreme reaction. Add to that the fact he lost his ma the very same way. If all your dear ones leave you alone can you truly go on? Can there be a ranjha without his very heer? It is too painful to even imagine these two in such a tragedy. I want them sparklingly animated, shouting at each other, rabba veying happily, defying hatred, surrendering to love, eternally alive.

She was not 18, her actual age was (19+22.10)/2=20.5 years old.😆

i also thought, if she really would've committed suicide, what he would do. And some day the truth of her innocence sure would come out. would he able to survive then?

Sanjeevani for the vulnerable sister in law, tinkling bells for the house goat , her very own comfortable pretty white mojris (those same mojris we loved to see her in) for nani, all her saved money for buaji. Fond recollections of the parents who adopted her and gave her everything. She has always been grateful. Tried a little to hard to make everyone laugh. With only one person does she truly unconditionally belong. And as she glances at her stars, their parents perhaps decide to intervene He comes in. Wearing white, I have to add. Talks to her jiji and her eyes tear up. On the final day of the show when asked on stage how would she spend her last day I still mourn her not saying anything till the very end about her Arnavji. Such long lines about pyara parivaar and then a generic statement about him. While here I sit in front of a screen and the very thought of losing one of them has my very heart stopping. Hey devi maiyya aapka laakh laakh shukriya that you let the show end happily. 24 hours is not enough. In fact a whole lifetime is not enough when you get to spend it with that one person you love.. who completes you.. whom you complete.. your soulmate. Luckily for Arnav Singh Raizada and Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada they will have their forever.. Hamesha..

lovely.
Always love your deep insight and how you perceive things.
Khushi's will made me cry. Arnav gave everything to his sister, but Khushi whatever little she had, gave everything to everybody. i didn't see the episode yet. i forgot what he said about Arnav. But she gave him everything by giving up her life for him. And those stars were her most precious possession, what she gave it to his beloved Arnavji. That was her expression of love for him, cause she couldn't say loud and clear that she loved him so much that she was going to sacrifice her life for him
My favorite lines are blue.
My comments are in purple.

Deferred Dreams ...

love these images from the beginning..

"Bhoolna mat kyuonke mein yaad rakhoonga"[Don't forget it because I will remember it.Today our Mr Mechanic's words to Khushi are taking me to the first episode because he never forgets as he never did.In the first epi we encountered his past wounds given by his Chachaji and Arnav took his revenge from him to buy the Sheesh Mahal to throw him out just like he threw him and his sister out of their home.Still He was not at peace, He passed a design to build a hotel on Sheesh Mahal where Anjali's words are coming here in this picture..."tum humara ghar thod doge"?[are you going to demolish our house?] Then Arnav said - "Woh humara ghar tha di, ab nahin hai".[That was our house ,not now] Then Anjali said - "Yehi toh main tumhein kab se samjhate aayi hoon Arnav, lekin tum aaj bhi wahin khare ho, pandra saal ka Arnav apni di ko sambhalte hue andar hi andar sishak raha tha, apne aasoon apne di peh bhi zahir hone nehin diya".[I am trying to make you understand this but u are still standing at the same spot with same wounds which you don't even let your sister see] Then Arnav said - "Arnav Singh Raizada kab ka uss se aage nikal chuka hai aur apne hi dam par waqt ko badal bhi chuka hai". [ASR has crossed all to change his time]

Translation:Anjali:You will demolish this house...Arnav:that was our house di but not anymore...Anjali, this is what I have've been telling you all along but you are still standing at the same position,15 years old Arnav was crying silently by taking care of his Di and never let her see his tears also...Arnav said , ASR has come out of it and has changed the time too...

But has he changed himself, Nope, He never did forget or he will ever forget anything which has any attachment to him.

He never forget his father's behavior towards his mother, his mother's suffering, his sister's wedding attire...and that's why he can forget Khushi's words or Shyam's embrace on the terrace.Deep attachment of him over this WEDDING RELATION , which he doesn't believe according to him but his belief is way deeper than anyone.Once Anjali's marriage broke and today another one is at the brink of that state. He couldn't forget then and he can't forget now.

Symbolism and connection: Buaji and Amma is cooking for Damadji by using "Baby corn" and zucchini,With Baby corn , next word was walnut and Buaji said , Zucchni, as chinni ...As baby corn, a maize and immature ,not given time to be fully developed just like Arnav who was way too young to carry responsibilities but Buaji added Zuchinni/chinni/like Sugar .. when the layer is going to be peeled ,a young man with tender and sweet nature will be surfaced up... A big change in a boy in these years, layers with armor shells around as Arnav takes off his glasses when Chachaji witnessed that, that 12 year old boy is not a baby corn anymore... Indeed he has layers over that zucchini /chinni/ sugar nature...My grabber Amma and Buaji's concentration is solely on making their Damaad happy and comfortable, to ease his discomfort and get him to feel at home.

Love Buaji who make everyone flee for bothering her Babua... me too. I was so happy.

"Main yeh Repair centre kholne ke liye thayar Hoon"Arnav has agreed to mend all the broken things with associated with their relationship in this marriage but he added two edged sword with it "Don't won't forget because I will not "..telling her that he remember [about Shyam] regardless she has no clue... and at the same time he will not allow her to forget about their love [ when she walks away ]..

PONDERING CONNECTED DOTS: Next scene ...gift wrapper and terrace scene is back...and later he never let her walk away from him or breaking any alliance with him...tumhain paa keh rahoonga which will turn...don't leave me ever...

Pause here:Even without vest he is ASR and never forgets to make a deal with her wife without whom he can't live and above all he can't afford her discomfort when she says she will sleep on the floor"isski koi zaroorat nahin hai..."[man is already regretting making her sleep on the floor] but again she always keeps his comfort upmost at her front "ok whatever you will say" ..Khushi u never learn ur lesson dear...😛 but he really looks cute as a mechanic too.

such a look of concentration..

Arnav walks away from Buaji being annoyed by her interruptions and lands in a mess. Arnav is liberally smeared in it and stands up on his feet ...Yes in his messy life all the time he stands up on his own feet always.

Buaji who tried to help gets intimidated by his anger ..Now Khushi comes to step out and meets Arnav as Khushi is the only one who can stand in front of his anger. To mellow him down and that's what happens...She comes and says, "Aapko phir se sab se milwanye"[May I introduce you to all] and she also makes him acknowledge that he has become a complete part of her home, her life in one simple sentence when she says'Ab tou Aap Poori tarah se iss Mohalle ke Hogaye hain" ...[You are a complete part of this town]...My grabber is again the community ppl step forward and suggest that Khushi should remove the mess ..Khushi cleans him with all the mess...as water is Khushi...

We have another corn child and she is "Khushi". She is fortunate because she is being taken care of by loved ones regardless of all the nagging about being orphan. In 226 I refereed to Deferred Dreams of Khushi "Raisins" and after four heartbreaks, today her deepest desire"marrying with Rajkumar " comes in front of her Rajkumar who witnessed since childhood what she dreamt of.

Today again their Grihapravesh comes in the picture... where Khushi was remembering her dreams about marriage while touching the lehenga and that day Khushi needed to live the lesson taught by Amma "Koi farak nehin padta jeevan saathi aacha hona chahiye".. to absorb the shock of her life. Khushi really got married to her Rajkumar in a rush but she still is in obscurity of the fairness of life with her or not. That night the dream of a perfect marriage was shattered but The other thing is when Garima said that you can only know your Rajkumar while spending your entire life with him."Khuch Rishte jee kar hi pata chalet hain..." and that where Khushi is standing now and she will realize this destined relationship after sometime.Sudden decisions are bitter sometimes but gives you sweeter results at the end.

A girl who is trying to find answers and the reasons to the riddle her life has become is suddenly asked to reveal the finer details of it, the pleasures of it .The multimask Khushi who has mastered the art of escaping through smiles fabricates a false story about her Marriage, revealing the finer details, not knowing that this is her yearning and wish of a dream wedding

Today her "Rajkumarwitnessed his Rajkumari's dream of being "Perfect Bride" lovely line Faiqa. She described how her lehenga should be a mixture of green and red[green as for "forever"..Hamesha and red for LOVE... Earrings like chimes as ever lasted sangeet meaning happiness [charoon taraf roshini aur khushiyoon ka mahol" and veil must be over head as protective shield not for 6 months hanging sword... Everything was witnessed and heard by Arnav and couldn't meet his eyes with his soul. Both look at one another through the mirror that is giving a distorted view because truth itself has been deformed and twisted but the emotions cannot be misleading or diverted from it's focal point. Their eyes are reflecting spectrum of emotions... pain , a Loss, muted anger , rawness of wounds twhich are still open and fresh and a sadness at the way their life has turned out ...He cannot face her questionable eyes? He just cannot. He has not only shattered her dreams of perfect wedding but also he is responsible for her broken dreams of a life with her Rajkumar for eternity. He entered the GH with loads of Burden to find the answers of his confusions and today his trunk is heavier than Khushi amd all because if her trunk was loaded with lies , his is loaded with shattered innocence and PURITY which he put in dung by himself.

Here comes "mein yaad rakhoonga" Arnav listened to all these and he will fulfill all of her dreams and will prove he is Khushi's Rajkumar... His hunched and heavy shoulders are becoming heavier with the regret and pain which he had inflicted upon her. He who always said ,I don't not believe in marriage but decided to tie himself up to the girl who believed in it more than ever by crushing her dream by dragging her but still couldn't forget her Sindoor and Manglasutre which she will keepsake for the rest of her life...for her eternity...A distorted view reels in front of him.. She had squeezed her teary eyes when he announced her His "Aaj se tum meri patni ho" but shattering her delicate heart in million pieces..."Par sirf duniya keh liye and for six months..." His devastated eyes refused to leave her alone like that , he turns around as always and shares painful dark moments with her. Rabba Ve is screaming with painful "Duhai"Kyu dard hai itna tere ishq mein? duhai.. very beautiful word..

The pain might have reached their hearts but when the truth will make an entry into their hearts both will be cupping each other's face by realizing that their love has found each other for eternity.

Arnav retreats and comes to his room while painful, haunting, teary questionable, eyes and words make it difficult for him to reflect upon his own actions where his own remorse and regret are hiding meeting his eyes. His eyes retreat him for a second when Buaji breaks the barrier of his pain through a red file...an alarming sign to retreat from creating softness towards her and keep searching for answers of his own questions ... regardless he is looking at the wrong direction away from the real truth just like this file which is right in his bag but he is thinking of her as a wrong doer...LOve the way file changes from RED to GREY...Yes the mind can't accept and run from the TRUTH...

He is neither probing nor even trying to find the truth, even though it is right in front of him. All he needs to do is make an effort. Indeed Destiny is playing games with Arnav but he is responsible of this theft ,no one else... ...one side he is sparring with anger and the other second his "Paagal" and her antics fetch a smile on his face even in hate he can't resist her.

PONDERING CONNECTED DOTS: since he got married to Khushi. If first his mind sees Khushi being at fault, then the next moment his heart shows him that Khushi is completely innocent. From Sethi brothers to going to chemist with Shyam...From stolen car parts to file in the bag... Arnav is being torn between believing his mind and believing his heart as His mind is always more at command than his heart in such instances.

Destiny has some other plans for him and won't let him forget anything in his case.He is the one who write his own Destiny but can't write or change his cindering and betraying moments of life according to his own wish. He can't even vanquish this golden ,shiny piece of paper which is mocking the Great Mr ASR as the scab of his wound is out and open in the air "To Khushi with Love ,Shyam..." and he misunderstood the whole thing again. All he could connect it as her lovely possession given by Shyam... His mind went off to the terrace confrontation and again he believed what he saw. Coming to think of it, I think he is now more bothered about the lover in him than the brother in him. His possessiveness is growing. nice thought. I think so too. The wound reopened awakens the rage at why Khushi is not able to love him and why he cannot love her..

Symbolism and connection: Grey file in the bag represents the truth hidden but also Arnav's state of mind where "mein yaad rakhoonga" where he sees Gift wrapper as a Khushi who is labeled by Shyam but as a possessive lover he wants to see his name on this label. Don't forget Arnav is deeply in love with Khushi but for Khushi to fall in love with the mighty ASR completely... she has to see the hidden pure Arnav inside him. The GH track is for Arnav to be revealed to Khushi or Vice versa!

Just as his Heart had started to believe in Khushi, his Mind overpowers his Heart to prove that his Heart is still weak, fragile, hurting, again still vulnerable... The action of crushing the wrapping paper signified the way Arnav's heart was crushed mercilessly in a slow, heart-wrenching, painful, crumbling, and tightly clutched method . your words bring out all the pain in this scene. Arnav's eyes and body language is probing a wide range of spectrum of emotions today and no doubt this character ASR is alive because of Barun...hats off to him...

We are beginning to see Arnav restraining his impulses these days especially for His Khushi. As he has learned by now that his Mind is betraying him with regards to Khushi's character. He can't put his finger on it yet, but he is aware that he is mistaken about Khushi's nature. His gut feeling is churning confused thoughts in him - his Mind's 'sights' about Khushi is attacked by his Heart's 'encounters' with the true Khushi. When Khushi walks in and enquires about the reason behind his anger, he tells her to go out of the room before he can say or do anything that he may regret later.. She connects it to what happened earlier and tries to coax the matter but he drags her out holding her arm painfully which transfers through her face.

He has faced so many 'regret incidences' regarding Khushi now, that he is no longer sure whether to believe his Mind. However, pushed by Khushi to know the reason behind his anger, he is about to let her know when they are disturbed twice - first by the 'dhols' and then by 'Garimaji'. It kills Khushi thousand times seeing him in pain just because of her as she is assuming here. She doesn't know the reason by herself and that's why it was hard for her to bring smile on her face while Buaji was inquiring in the kitchen. I liked that scene where she stands alone.. away from everyone.. she can't smile when she has fought with Arnavji and he is in so much pain over something. As Arnav said earlier "I will remember and will make her remember too" " mein yaad rakhoonga" ...He can't forget pain and he won't let her forget either...

A mixed episode really. Some parts I didn't enjoy that much and some parts I liked. Your take captured it all very nicely. That connection with Zuchinni and baby corn is inspired thinking really! I have no idea how you think of such things.. but made sense when you explain it that way. was a very cute scene wasn't it?

Duhai.. beautiful choice of word.. and the description of the lover hearing his beloved's dreams for the very first time was very touching Faiqa..

I have marked my favourite lines above.

And thanks a lot for your comments on my takes. I enjoyed your comments a lot. Arnav teasing Khushi gives me immense happines..

i saw the episode yesterday, made edits, went through the usual things... work and stuff, and just now thought i'd sit down and write. when i asked myself, what i wanted to write about, the first time in all this while since we started watching ipk, the answer came clearly... nothing.

so this is a very short, teehee aisa bhi hota hai, take from the most longwinded one on the thread.

only one thing i do really want to say.

they done 'er in. kamlesh was right, someone was out to get her.

the gupta house track could have been spectacular, if they did not play the way they did with khushi's character... and found another way to show the growing ease and intimacy between asr and khushi.
can't agree more.

in a different milieu and away from a large household with its formal ways and demeanour, yes, wonderful things could have happened.

these here are very very capable writers... yes, they get a little "inspired" by movies. also, they borrow as and when they need from that common pitara of ideas that serials of indian channels seem to share. but they actually told a pretty good tale and with extreme understanding of character and the nature of love, romance, wild attraction and super acidity.

they are writers of great ingenuity even... some of the things... aah like a fine movie at times.

but i have no idea why... they went gloopy sweet and pink wall at gh. lost that ken.

saddest of all, they damaged khushi. the pen is mightier than the shears, the knife, the screw driver, the noose, even asr.
i think they did a little experiment with the story, like scientist do with guinea pigs !😆

i came to this forum when midnight after midnight i watched the sudden chaotic change in rhythm in a perfectly fabulous character and could not bear it... i needed help.

after more than two years, i feel exactly the same way about khushi during this track.

it was just plain wrong.

barun said once that this was, as happens in many shows indian, a story with an accent on the male protagonist. but actually he was not quite right; indian serials, unlike indian films are the opposite of that ever since ekta decreed so and the likes of parvati and tulsi invaded our living room.

a strange woman, cast in shades of tradition and hues of so called modernity came into being and has primetime in her stranglehold ever since. she in some way is supposed to be us... what the.

of course, we do get a bit of respite from our "mahanta" from time to time, but only the akbars and the rana prataps of this world or the panch pandav get to shift focus from the great indian bahus and betis.

a really strong male character, a mere mortal at that, is a rarity i think in our soaps. which is why asr was so precious and of course, his traits, main mar jawaan.

but khushi was gorgeous too... not just to look at, but as a differentiated, clearly thought out, zany yet rooted character, individualistic in her own way. khushi gave me hope.

gh track played with her in the most unkind way.

sorry, khushi would never do such a ridiculous thing: watch kamlesh and decide asr wants to kill her. then imagine mind numbing scenarios, oh suddenly is she brainless twit utterly. nahiiin, writer did not, and i underline that, solve the problem by getting amma and bua ji to comment on her state of sanka again and again, even asr's sweet gentle concern and is she ok killer lines did not do the trick.

would khushi really go kill herself suddenly like that? and even in that the ridiculing doesn't stop... the terrible hand phone sequence.

i may love asr, but i absolutely stood by khushi too. i am not into rituals and hey dm ways, but when she did it, it felt lovely and right... mainly because both writer and actor knew who she was. i knew jalebi cannot be made without fermenting the batter, but i let it pass because the character and jalebi had essential vibe, yeah, essential, samjhi tum?!

she had a complete personality. she was spicy and hot and intelligent with just the right amount of goofiness. it was so natural. she had a modern mind... she was far less a"hum" and far more a "main" than most girls in our shows. she had her own ways of tackling things and she fought for those. she was tradition loving, but never old fashioned. her approach to working in the initial episodes, to taking on new things, not fearing... aaah lovely girl.

she made mistakes. who doesn't.

but she was no fool.

after the wedding, when the road ahead did not look that clear... a suddenly spiked khushi was perhaps what they felt would catch trps, giggles, and give all a break to think what lies ahead.

might have even worked.

but the writing was just not sensitive or right. i wonder who lost touch with khushi and how.

i cannot imagine the girl who was standing with a phone on a ledge ready to jump off as the girl on the bridge later.

even "kis mitti se bani hai" does not save her. not for me. not if i am being honest with myself.

sanaya did brilliantly from bridge through kidnap... and because i just did not want to remember what i had seen here, i decided to let it be. but a funny kind of damage to the character was done and that never would get fixed. in fact, they kept shoving her around as and when they felt like it. sadly.

also this casting middil kilass as the good guys and the rich as baddies most insensitive, yikes, save me from these erroneous ideas... stereotypical and vapid they be.

okay enough talk.

love is a demanding thing... and i do love ipk... so it's okay, will take the tamasha and go on to what's next. as i do with lub in real lifewa.

gh track might have been brilliant though. all the actors did their very best. i am grateful... and taekwondo queen, kahin aur ek duniya hogi where you are allowed to kick and punch the h out of your macho husband no matter which bed you two share. no amnesia by your creator there.
ha ha I wish.

stray thoughts:

er 'scuse me, he is putting up clothesline for this house... where is my asr, where have you all hidden him? and sorry to be so terribly shallow but if he is the kind who always yearned to fix clotheslines in his in laws' home, then toodloo pip pip, asr, me go love another guy.
I'm right here to love him, not gonna leave him any way.

"laad governor safed kameez pe jalebi ke daag ki tarah hain... haar nahin maante!" laad gov is like a jalebi mark/stain on a white shirt, refuses to accept defeat. dialogue writers are trying hard to keep things interesting.

suddenly khushi is almost 23, just two months short of it. okay, whatever.
i already calculated her age in Rhea's take (19+22.10)/2=20.5 years old. Wow i'm so good at math, Patting my back.😆
yeah, someone clearly intended to kill khushi. she should have just run away from the script.

and full attendance demanded by khushi at funeral. even salman must be sad... sweet. just that i am fading.
yeah salman khan is mourning standing in the corner of the signal light of Laxmi nagar. Remeber ASR's taunt to khushi on their haldi?

it felt good to see asr looking mean and unconcerned. aww.

I know you are frustrated, So I was. You have every right to be indignant. But still love IPK, ASR and Khushi. what to do, love is blind.
Loved the lines in blue and have some comments as well.

Episode-241

Arnav is in convulsion remembering khushi's distraught countenance at her friend's query about her wedding. His memory goes back to the tempestuous wedding night, where he coerced her for the six months contract marriage. He bereaved her dream of her perfect dream wedding. He feels like a stranded ship, lost in a turbulence of emotions from where he couldn't save himself and there was no one else to draw comfort from. His heart constricts with scorching pain for the girl, whom he abomiantes for having an affair with her brother in law, who told him to leave his wife, his di.

When he was fighting with his tumultuous thought, Bua comes there to give him his file what he left outside. But Arnav can't find another important file. He thinks Khushi must've hid it; his naughty wife can do any antics to trouble him. He looks for it everywhere in the room and finally finds the peeping file inside his laptop bag. His visage suffuses with an apologetic expression for suspecting Khushi unnecessarily. But can't blame him either, his menacing, naughty's wife's previous record compels him to suspect her. Or moreover his whole life style has become topsy turvy in GH. Because of the wedding there is a complete anarchy in the house. I can't believe that fastidious and martinet ASR is coping up with this mess.

As his mood becomes well again another glittery peeping thing makes him flagrant again. He gets the peeping sparkling gift wrap from the drawer.

"pagal"

A derisive smile glints his face to see the used wrapping paper saved so carefully. But his smile turned to a conflagration when he reads the card pasted on the wrap,

"to Khushi

With love

From Shyam"

His whole countenance grapples with pure loathing and undisguised anger, his nose flares and his breath gets raspy, as he crumples the gift wrap in between his hand. Tremor runs inside his vein. The sheer intensity of rancor leaves him momentarily disoriented. Rage, pain, misery and betrayal twist his very being shredding him to gruesome merciless pieces. A raising inferno inside him wants to burn everything in it's wake now. He must be thinking, their relationship was so deep that shyam gave her gift and could write the letter love, or Khushi must loved shyam so much that she saved it as a token of his love. The air around him shuddered uncontrollably with intense, pure, unadulterated grief and undecipherable anger,.

Pause: I was terribly frustrated when I first saw the episode. Instead of fixing the MU, the cvs created new MU. Who the hell keep used gift wrap? I think it was bua who kept it. We know, shyam's camaraderie with her. And she was the culprit who coerced Khushi to marry that nefarious man. I can't forget, how she blackmailed that poor girl to marry that devil!.

The groom of Preetika has arrived with his obnoxious mama-mami. Nandini introduces them with Khushi's family, who are more than relatives to her. But dulha's uncle and aunt are not happy with the poor arrangement of the sangeet in small Gupta house. They accuse them for not hiring a big hall for the sangeet. bua says with acquiescence, they will take care of them well. Mama starts his taunt by looking at the small house,

"small colony, so house should be small."

He is not liking that his nephew is marrying a small town girl. Khushi tries to make him understand that it's more fun in small place, so that they all can sit cozily and having a group chat, rather scattering all over the place in a big hall. They get more upset when Khushi serves them juice in steel glass. Khushi deftly retorts them, glass can be broken and anybody can get hurt. She thinks the new relationship should be strong like steel. Bua anticipates their irritation, so she tells Khushi to keep shut and amma tells her to go inside. Bua tells the groom's family that her niece recently got married. Groom's mama banters them,, "in this small house!"

I wish if they would've known she got married his nephew's boss who is one of the richest guy in town.

It's time for groom's mami to show her meanness, she thinks they gave dulhan very light jewelry. Bua tries to alleviate the bitter mood of the groom's family, she suggests the girls to start the sangeet ceremony.

Khushi comes to call Arnav for the sangeet. But he is in no mood to do fun. Moreover seeing khushi there the fire of retribution starts to burn bright inside him. Repercussion goes back to the terrace scene again, where he found Khushi in Shyam's embrace. Khushi's words of telling Shyam to leave Anjali echo in his eardrums. His inside cringes with abhorrence for the swindler, immoral girl who is now standing in front of him. All of his wounds become raw and bleeding again. Seeing his angry state Khushi anticipates something is wrong. She asks him in tremulous voice, what's wrong! Arnav hobbles fast towards her, intends to say something. But the shrill drum beats can't let him speak.

I wish if he could blurt out everything what he buried inside his heart since the wedding night.

Khushi misinterprets his anger, she thinks because of her earlier convo with her friends about the wedding made him angry. That's obviously not the reason, he turns around in frustration. A glimmer of steel slowly enters his eyes, he tells her sternly to leave him alone. She still insists him, what's her fault if her friends wanted to know about her wedding. Her words incite the vendetta inside him. He turns towards her and holds her upper arms vehemently and says her scathingly, unable to hide the rapidly mushrooming loathe in his voice.

"god damn! Isse pehele ki mai kuch kardoo dafa ho jao yahase." He grabs her hand and wants to make her out from his sight. Khushi squirms in pain, she feels as if he would throttle her with his bare hands. Inhaling sharply his abhorrence, she opens her quivering lips to retort,

"bas aisa bata dijiye, yeh meherbani kiyu."

He is about to say about Shyam, but the knock on the door inhibits him. uff not again! The cvs wanted to prolong this MU more.

Amma comes there to call them. khushi goes outside, but Arnav shows reticence to come. Amma asks him is he well? He tries to pretend that he is fine. He can't hurt her family because of Khushi, they are such caring and loving people.

The sangeet is going on in full swing. Granny is dancing and Khushi is serving snacks and sweets to everybody. Such a serendipitous girl she is! There must be a debacle going inside her right now, but still she is smiling, trying to do her duty to please everybody. Khushi's friends tease her why jijaji is not coming. Groom's highhanded family get a chance to taunt them again, why their lofty son in law is not coming out, he is supercilious and haughty and all. Their nephew got promoted in a big company but still so down to earth. Bua can't bear the insinuation of her favorite babua, so she goes inside to call him. The shallow groom's family are now complaining about the heat, if they would've hired a big hall then they wouldn't have suffered like this. They want to know are the wedding is taking place in a big hall or not. Nandini assures them with supplication that the wedding will be in a community hall for sure.

Gosh never saw such obnoxious people in my life. I also didn't get it whythe groom's family is greater than the bride's family. Why bride's family has to show reverence to them?

In the kitchen Khushi is cooking something. She looks pensive, Arnav's misdemeanor ravaged her soul. She is also upset to see groom's family's meanness. Bua comes and asks Khushi did anything happen between her and Arnav? Cause he refused to come outside. khushi tries to avert her, tells her to leave it, he has lots of work, so that he can't join them. Nandini comes there also to ask bua where she kept groom's sherwani. The sherwani is in Khushi's room, so they have to disturb damadji again.

Arnav is getting prepared to leave GH. He is in so much resentment that staying with the swindler girl in this messed up place is impossible now. While he was telling Aman to send his car, bua and nandini come there and asks meekly his permission to enter. Bua gets groom's sherwani and passes it to Nandini. Nandini is in tizzy whether groom's family likes it or not. Amma and groom's mami also come there. mami is not happy with groom's gift. She insults them again, if they would've known that they are so poor, then her family would've spent for the whole wedding. Amma tries to avert her, she tells her to have dinner. Mami banters, they arranged dinner also! Bua pretends to be jovial; "the food is so delicious that you have to suck your finger." Arnav exasperates to hear that shallow woman's tiff.

He comes out to see who these haughty people are! I think he recognizes the groom, so to confirm it he calls Aman to find out which AR employee is getting married in recent days.

Groom's mama is complaining about the melted ice cream. Khushi says in a quick repartee, if he gets so hot in anger then the ice cream must melt. If he relaxes, the ice cream will not melt.

khushi andar jao and get another ice cream." Arnav intervenes. He introduces himself, "I'm Arnav, khushi's husband.'

Mama jeers him that finally he came out. He tells Arnav to teach his wife how to talk with elders. Without arguing he tells him grimly,

"Koshish karoonga"

Khushi enrages to hear him.

Arnav leaves the place to receive Aman's call. When he was leaving, his eyes go to the crestfallen bride. What he thought? He couldn't see the injustice to the girl, the insult of her family. Where he sees something wrong, he always tries to fix that. after that tempestuous night of his parent's death, he experienced so many hurdles. He saw how people oppressed the weak, deprive the unprivileged.

Determination glints his eyes to teach the groom and his family a lesson. Khushi also follows him in the room. She will not spare him for scolding her in front of so many people. Arnav admonishes her not to confront him or speak to him right now. Remnant of his earlier anger still simmers in his eyes. He doesn't want to create any scene in this situation. He doesn't even want to see her face. khushi also doesn't want to see him, But she also can't let it go. She starts to argue, how he was supporting them. Their fight gets interrupted when Arnav eyes fells on the groom, talking on the phone. He again tells khushi with gritted teeth to leave, but khushi is obstinate, she misunderstand Arnav. she thinks he is also like them, rich, supercilious and obnoxious. She herself will handle the situation now.

Arnav comes towards the groom. He hears that he got fired from the job. The guy gets surprised to see him. Arnav introduces himself that he is his former boss and he fired him, cause he is not eligible to be his employee. The qualities what he seeks in his staffs are, the wish to work hard, the ability to work and thirdly say his words without any inhibition. Arnav thinks he has none of those qualities. Until he learns to respect his wife and her family, he is not needed in his company.

he would have to watch her jump and kill herself. she would jump, no matter how crazy she sounds, how disoriented and how flimsy her reason, a sudden fixation about lavanya and him now... but she would do it. he knew right from the moment she said all sorts of khushi things and left home that something was amiss...

chaliye arnav singh raizada, humne aap ko maaf kardiya... on hearing that, the comic sfx crow crowed, the handsome upright brow puckered further.

and he said what he had been feeling since her sweet wife attack began, "what the..?"

she looked shimmery eyed and satisfied... manna had come to her before she embraced death... his "what the". boundless dopeyness with frowning thinking gorgeousness that shall not be bound... what a perfect few minutes, even though i am aaargh about the ishtory.

but that flirty "go on, i forgive you "might have given him the weirdest warning signal. then he went to the room to find the biggest hint that all was not well, her stars were gone... and that letter... she is going to become a star she declared there, of course a bright and beautiful one. he possibly almost stopped breathing then...

but he is never one to sit still and let things happen. the episode changed rhythm and feel. urgency, desperation, panic entered. signs of a feeling all.

he knows what this is all about, but where is she... he must act... and he must think... sanity comes from that. he had acted the night he had thought he would finally go crazy. and now too, he is out of the house in seconds, thinking, and running... the warning bells are ringing wildly in him... where is she. call her. ah, she receives the call...

and she is where?

she instructs him to move so she doesn't fall on him.

what?

he turns, looks up...
horrified, phone still at ear, he yells out to... life. "khushi!"

helpless, he is staring up, horror going through his head.

she is in a frenzied hyped state, she knows she is moments away from death...

don't move!!! stay there...

he is frantic, i am coming!... main aa raha hoon!

i am beginning to pick his panic. thin plot, small six inch screen on comp, repeat viewing... still i a feel the panic.

"lo... inhinka kaam kar rahe hain aur humey rok rahen hain..." see, i am doing his work and he is stopping me.

top shot of man running up stairs two steps at a time. contrast that with silly nonesense talk from wife, slowly pondering jumping off. the discordant note sets up its own crazy pitch, he is running, jumping over things, panicking he might be too late.

and they are on a terrace together once more.

"khushi!!!!" hand reaching out trying to stop her. will his reach fall short? how will he live if it does? he has tried his best to survive his mother killing herself... but khushi?

"what the hell are you doing... uttro neeche abhi!" get down instantly, his anger is here fueled by fear and panic.

"dekhiye paas mat aayie verna hum kud jaayenge!" don't come near me, or else i'll jump.

is this fair? if dragging her to a temple was wrong, is this also not that? yet, nowhere, not even once do we see this thought about later. and for all his rave and rant and music with swagger, he is the sweetest lover on earth... he never ever tells her what happened to him as he saw her standing on the ledge, never berated her for putting him through that.

"okkay okkay relax, main agey nahin aaonga! par kyun kud jaaogi tum? what's wrong with you?"

the negotiator... that movie comes to mind... keep talking, keep the person engaged. an intelligent man, his dimag to the fore, dil kept aside, to get the work done.

she says he is after her since yesterday to kill her.

"khushi, aisa kuch nahin hai!" there's nothing like that. just look at the actor, i can feel his every fear.

"paas mat aaiye!" don't come near... yes she is in that fey space, not quite here. again, seriously good understanding of the moment.

"main aagey nahin aaonga... breathe..." hand up, hot concentrated stare... (of course, at "breathe" one viewer has stopped breathing. she is shallow. her heart just fell off the ledge.)

"ab saans lene ka abhyaas karne se kya fayda..." what's the point of doing breathing exercises now... dialogue writer is on a spree.

"okay take care, dammit!" as she almost falls off.

she is talking gibberish... "waise hum dar nahin rahe hain..." smiles... he is responding to every word move breath, eyes desperate, wondering how to get her off.

feeling things, breaking...

yeah, you had to get him to a place like this for him to erupt and at last let someone know what his "chot" was... the really larger than life ones have a spot within so tender, it is a blessing to be in their hearts... and when that spot aches... that chot... no one will understand, for they only see the strong big man, and no one really wants to see a strong one's crying place, makes us uneasy... we want heroes... bulletproof... invincible.

on a terrace he saw disillusionment and got his chot.

i am wondering how much he is hurting aching angry desperate crazy now, how is he holding up.

but he is a task focused man... thank g for that... his mind is working. like his gussa, it's his dimag that has kept him going, nurtured him through hell.

she won't haunt him... nor lavanya ji... music is khushi style loopy... rhetoric and prosody lessons from college i recall... to highlight an emotion, a counterpoint is being used... there is nothing funny or cute about what is going on, just the opposite.

"lavanya ki baat kahaan se aa gayi?" huh! lavanya! asr is confounded.

"arey, wahi toh hai aapka asli gulaab." oh, she is your real rose. "matlab... asli pyaar," your real love. she is sad.

"aur hum... kaanta," she is the thorn.

"gulab... kanta... what the hell are you saying?" stop sounding so hot, your wife is about to jump for botanical issues..😆. there is a bizarre craziness here which is pretty classic, weird me is thinking.

the kundli conundrum is revealed.

what? kundli? but he doesn't believe in such things. but it's true. never. it is.

"kyunki jo tum samajh rahi ho woh sach nahin hai..." what you are thinking is not the truth. nice. and we come to the whole issue of truth again. what he saw that night... he believes that is true. what she surmises about lavanya, she believes that is also the truth.

long time back a clever serial said... the truth is out there. the x files. and maybe the truth is really in mars or venus or the aliens have abducted it... for it is nowhere in what they think.

it is however absolutely there in what they feel.

"yeh sach nahin hai."

"sach hai."

what is "sach" really?

she has heard him talk to lavanya and come to a conclusion... just as he has seen her with shyam and come to his.

he cannot convince her now. and she will not be able to convince him soon.

similar situation, one handled with seriousness and drama, the other with lightness and melodrama.

both hurt the observer. almost as much.

marte hue insaan se jhoot nahin bolte. you don't lie to soemone who is about to die. this has goe=ne on too long. and death is not chhay mahine ke liye... okay?

"arrey aapko toh taarey mil bhi gaye," oh you have found the stars...

he couldn't let go... he ran with everything.

tense moments.

at last what is transpiring seems to reach khushi... she is looking at the man she loves one last time, and he at her...

you could have asked me once, then without asking any questions i would have moved out of your way... never occurs to her that she never was in the way... if he wanted la he could have had her.

in front of his eyes, khushi will jump... she almost does...

he is concentrating, he knows what he has to do... but surely he worries, what if he misses.

finally, he says,

"khushi, main lavanya se pyaar nahin karta,"... i don't love lavanya.

"and i think kabhi karta bhi nahin tha..." i don't think i ever did love her. how can you even think that.

and i will repeat this only once, i did not want to marry lavanya, and this is not the reason why i married you.

then tell me why did you marry me? why?

he struggles... too painful to bring these words to his lips. beauty of it is she has no idea, he has no idea that she has no idea... where is sach, go find it.

"aap unse pyaar karte hain... aur, hum..." you love her, and i...

the most beautiful pause in a crazy girl's tirade. yeah, you love him... and he, though you don't know, loves you. he stays silent, you talk nonstop... the hurt is so huge in both.

at the pause, this silent long stare by the one who dare not believe a word she says and so wants to...

a man and a woman stand looking at each other... the ridiculousness of the situation is overshadowed by the timeless question in both eyes... who are you to me, who am i to you... what ties us, what tears us asunder... this is not the truth. this is the truth.

a music refrain raju singh composed thinking what i don't know, but feeling all the right things, seems to hold the two together always

the ballad of asr and khushi plays out in sound and light... she is leaning against him as they dance, trusting, believing.

he is going to kiss er, it is diwali, asr can never forget.

oh you did kiss me by that pool, my first kiss ever and you were the one.

rabba vey touches the space between them as they stand, on on the ledge, the other on level ground.

the car screeched, the rain fell in cascades, i came and picked you out of harms way, i could never let you go... not even then.

your hand in mine i walked you out of the circle of lights... diwali... so much in that dark dark night.

do you know how lovely you look when you smile, i love to see you laughing, though you don't love me.

i put the payal on your ankle, did you tie me to yourself with it, why can't i let you go even though you hurt me so, you who are having an affair.

i remember your gentleness in a room far away, holding me, and so it is you i must run to when i need someone strong and always mine..

i couldn't hold you, but i wanted to soothe you, put my hand on your head and promise, i am here. hamesha.
👏

but now it is time. "hum theek hai. hum taiyaar hai." i am fine. i am ready.

he watched her without talking, without moving.

a conversation was had by forces beyond either, the powerful instinct within us, which asserts itself when our rational selves trip up...

she looked back at him one last time... he had never looked more helpless.

as she turned away...

he remembered their first meeting... everything welled up it seemed within him.

she had fallen into his arms...

she turned only to recall how she had run to him at the hospital.

he was ready, he was lunging forward, he couldn't let her go... neither dil nor dimaag could stand and watch while she did this.

a crescendo of shots and feelings and music. an end point arriving.

she closed her eyes... and most poignantly and tellingly khushi recalled a man marrying her. her man, arnav ji. the shadi that hurt her, the shadi that made her feel loved.

he lunged. she fell forward.

a scream. all went black.

he had caught her in his arms and fallen back onto the terrace floor.

how he held her said what his lips couldn't. there was too much hurt, too many emotions for that.

he had fallen with her like that and lain with her just the day before, hadn't he? under a shower of petals...

she realised where she was and began to struggle... he pushed her off...

anger pain madness in him mixing, whirling, a tornado catching speed.

fantastic direction... he walked away from her, back turned... the emotional upheaval arousing resentment.

camera work changed. another critical juncture had been reached on the road to eternity.

what the hell were you thinking!

he was going to tell her...

"maine yeh sab lavanya ke vajah se nahin kiya... okay?" i didn't do all this because of lavanya, okay!!

"jhoot mat boliye..." still child like, angry. don't lie!

"main jhoot nahin bol raha hoon..." i am not lying.

then tell me why did you marry me.

memories of the other terrace in the dark... here in broad daylight. claustrophobic, maddening.

"har pal yeh sawal hume khata rehta hai..." every moment, this question eats into me.

he remembers what eats at him.

"hume sach jaanne ka poora haq hai." i have every right to know the truth.

he is shaking with anger as she says "chhor dijiye anjali ji ko..."

a million memories of shyam and her, in fragments in sequence no sequence and of him marrying her, crowd and ignite.

"kyunki main tumhare aur shyam ke baare mein jaanta hoon..." because i know about shyam and you...

sound pulls us into the vortex of emotions and feelings of that assertion.

"jaanta hoon ki tumhare aur shyam ka affair chal raha hai!"

i know you and shyam are having an affair.

"issliye ki maine tumse shadi."

that's why i married you.

he was holding her even then, when he told her she was just a low down home wrecker, a girl who is having an affair with a married man. his sister's husband.

his tense taut body seemed to want to hurtle into her. and she stood stunned.

here between heaven and earth and far away from the sweetness of pink walls or any other safety, any shelter in fact, here between life and death... despite body double, strange story line, apparently many problems during shoot, in fact some backgrounds are i think superimposed... they made primeval contact again. a man, a woman, an emotion.

and was there a story angle in there somewhere? just as the thought of her being in love with someone else drove him crazy...and made him do something he never would have otherwise... only for her; so did the thought of him loving someone else drive her crazy... and she did something she would never do otherwise? only for him?
i decided to read it that way.
though writing would not say that later. in fact he would tell his sister he did not love khushi when he married her. yeh sach nahin hai, i will hear myself say. but what is truth after all. and whatever it is, it isn't here. it is out there.

loved your take.
when I first saw the episode I thought it was another prank of Khushi. She would've never committed suicide. after all she was a very positive girl. Then during the scene her incoherent crazy talk, his phone convo with Arnav all made me think that it was her trick to make arnav speak about the reason of the forced marriage. But when I heard the scream, I really became dumbfounded; was she serious about that?
so many thought came to my mind. Firstly if she would've really killed herself, what would've happened? Sooner or later the truth of her innocence would be revealed. Would he able to survive then? To see his love dying in front of him was no less than a punishment for him. was it his punishment to misunderstand her without giving her a benefit of doubt?
For Khushi living with his loathe became unbearable. Her life seemed meaningless. On Preeto's wedding day how he behaved her despicably, mortified her again. she knew he had a deep relationship with Lavanya. Didn't it prick her heart? Obviously did. It's natural to feel insecure. Her mind was in a complete disarray. I think she couldn't think properly. otherwise a pragmatic, optimistic and strong girl like Khushi believed silly Kamlesh khabri and decided to finish her life?

All the blue lines are my favorite. i specially liked how you described their past significant moments.
And one thing I also want to say that I also didn't agree with the writer to make Arnav say that he didn't love Khushi before the marriage. I guess he fall in love with Khushi when she fell in his arm in sheesh mahal. And the journey of his turbulent love started since the day.
i guess the writer forgot the concept of ipk what was nafrat pass ane na de, aur muhabbat door jane na da. Love was always there in their relation and that is irrefutable.

the sweetest moment of this episode for me was when a tycoon who hates his wife, looks at her with a childlike desire in his eyes, wanting to be a part of her wildly dancing free and happy world. walks up to her awkwardly, tries to follow her steps and join her in that dancing. so willing to be a part of her world and be happy with her, a desire larger than the realities that pull him back propels him.

he is only 27 or so but it is so easy to forget that, so easy to think he is completely in control and a much older guy just because he takes on the mantle and lives up to it. almost har baar. in this beautiful story where two people unlikely to fall in love with each other, do exactly that, once in a way, just that love is the hero... perhaps that's what i felt about this episode.

he was sure he knew he was having an illicit affair with his beloved sister's husband. at too many levels this was not just painful, it was abhorrent. galat had no place in his life... never after what his father had done. his sister was the only human being he allowed into his heart, which lay dormant beneath an icy layer, barely beating. this girl was the only one in the whole wide world that had cracked that layer,
sunshine as it were, and touched his dhadkan, making it race, becoming part of it. he had just thought he might start a life with her where there was a chance of laughter and of joy.

was arnav singh raizada really not hurting terribly inside? pragmatic, powerful, preponderant... he may be all of that, but he is also a man who loves, a man who hurts, a young man who wants a bit of happiness in his life. life has denied him so terribly that he doesn't even think he deserves such things. when your mother commits suicide on your sister's wedding day... almost without caring for what happens to her offspring, do you start feeling some crazy anger and do you perhaps start feeling guilty... that you could not stop it... we are complex beings and a myriad inexplicable emotions and urges grip us.

barun sobti's asr exuded this sense of complexity... more than what you see is who i am how i am.

khushi too had no plans to love such a man, but she did... and who could ever love someone after they treated you like that? that terrifying claustrophobic wild hungry wedding with something darkly fiery and sacred in it... who could love anyone that forced one into such a nuptials? who threatened the destruction of one's sibling's marriage. who threw one out onto cold stone floor. who accused and ranted. who never explained why he did what he did, but carried on relentless.

yet, khushi did love him.

neither could deny that love, no matter what.

in two moments of this episode that was so tenderly and terribly clear.

as he stepped up to dance with her. and as she turned away and lied to her mother.

this was no daughter allaying a mother's fears, this was a lover who wanted to guard her lover's image, he was hers, part of her ego, her self, she would not let him be viewed as unworthy in any way. had it been only to allay her mother's fears, she could have simply said she was happy, or maybe even said a few wonderful things about him, but look at the words she chooses to describe him and his feelings for her... isn't there a lot of what she wishes for from him in that? what she knows instinctively he is capable of giving?

i think true lovers have a sixth sense about each other, where they know beyond the obvious, they see potential that many can't...

both have been given a tough task... to see way beyond the obvious and feel the truth of the other. how do you perceive such things but? i guess you have to see with the eyes of the heart.

i completely agreed with the way that was ultimately shown. at this point this otherness of love and lovers is on display. in an episode that didn't thrill me often, because of execution, i still felt that love and its power.

just moments ago
she has overheard a conversation, and her disturbance is justified... why this whole thing happened still plagues her... but she is not keen to negate the relationship, instead find out, who this man is.

"kaun hai yeh, shaitan yehi raajkumar yehi..."
who is this, devil he is, prince is he too.

the mystery of the man, ek insaan ke do chehre... one man and two faces.

writers choose to bring back the beast and prince allusion.

i had written about this rajkumar shaitan thing after 226 where i think it makes its first appearance, now i find i had referred to these episodes there without even realising it came up here too... so the storyteller must telling the story well.

a little bit of what i wrote then:
later she described asr to her mother as "duniya ke sabse achhe pati" the best husband in the world, attributing to him several rajkumar qualities... which no doubt he had. but again the beauty of it was that it wasn't true yet... and still she loved him... her own shaitan.

"hum inhen kabhi samajh hi nahin aayenge."
i will never be able to understand him.
"ek pal mein itna pyaar... aur doosre pal mein inse itna dar lagta hai..."
one moment so much love and teh very next i am so afraid of him.
"yeh aise kyun hain?"
why is he like this?
"hume pata karna hi hoga..."
i must find out.

he is too much a part of her to deny him, break the tie. this i guess is love. this is essential connection.

she is now determined to find out why the rushed wedding had to happen, there must be a reason. every time she sees this man doing something decent, reasonable, positive, she lets her heart fill with hope and with renewed vigour chases the reason for that horridness.

love this attitude in a girl especially, given the passive role women are encouraged to play in our world... gah, i never thought growing up i would start talking like a women's libber, but this world doesn't give me an option, hello hi bye bye.

going back to the dance:

"no, i... don't dance..."

aww. shy guy.

cute standing around looking out of place in formal suit and perennial aloofness among dancers. cutest moment, slowly walking up to khushi and starting to somehow get in step with her, join in, like a kid i repeat gleefully.

and he has actually overcome that insane anger... in any person i would love such a moment. bua ji is the first to notice and is totally floored, she and garima have sensed all is not well with babua.

jerky stiff movements, my mama would have said "oont ki chaal," the gait of a camel. she sees him and is astonished. he is almost imploring her to help him out here.

bua ji is ecstatic, both she and garima are so relieved.

asr inept in a situation... something awfully sexy about it.

rabba vey as she sees him dancing by her... then someone pushes him and he stumbles, gets nudged closer to her...

and like holi, together they stand... this time also he had walked up to her mesmerised, but now minus bhang...

that endless searching look again... what is it? i don't know. why can't i be in my senses around you? why can't i? do you... need me? do i need anything else? tell me it is for hamesha... hamesha is what i have every time i have you.

there is no shyness, no awkwardness, fluent full dialogues their eyes do deliver...

then he has to remember shyam again and walk away...

leaving her bewildered.

a glimpse of the opening sequence:

"i really like her...", said the bridegroom of his bride to be. earlier inside khsuhi had asked the uncle of aunt if there was any "kami" in preeto. i wonder why we are so unmindful of our own self respect. why is the girl's personality, her abilities always the topic of discussion. instead of asking people tp shut up and not be obnoxious why must we actually go and ask is there soemthing wrong with us that they behave so badly. if this is our culture, time to change it.

asr speaks reasonably and not nobly or culturally correctly or anything. an out there character he deals with life looking at it straight and real and not fudging his mind with a thousand cluttering thoughts. which is why that airconditioner as solution, and now a straight and simple question...

"phir bhi tum chup ho!" even then you are quiet. brusque harsh truth.

loved this dialogue for its freshness and unfloweriness, remembered salim javed. "tumhare gharwale 1960s ke in laws ke tarah ghatia aur stereotypical demands kar rahe hain..."

your family members are speaking like in laws from 1960s films and making third rate demands...

"ghatia" seems to be damad ji's favourite epithet.

"tumhari apni marzi ka koi matlab nahin hai kya..." doesn't your own will have any meaning?

we need to hear this. to be collaborative, part of a whole, even "good" if you will, one need not not respect one's own self, one's own desires and wishes. i always loved asr's "main". he was no merged and part of an amorphous "hum". khushi and all girls in hindi serials are always "hum", worth a ponder why... why they can't be the more assertive, steady, "main".

but this entire piece didn't quite speak to me, saved by barun and asr's exciting energy and sense of claiming.

the best husband in the world:

i wish the sequence had a little less of the tearjerker element. i liked the fact that khushi said specific things about him... painting pictures, as though she had thought them many times in her mind.

garima says it so beautifully that very drama dialogue about what will i tell your mother when i meet her.

"hamari amma toh aap hai.. aapko kissiko bhi koi jawab dene ki zaroorat nahin..." you are my mother, you don't have to answer to anyone anywhere, comes khsuhi's response. i liked her saying that in that most khsuhi way. her love for thsi adoptive family of hers is complete and resolutely unselfish. it is beautiful.

he watches them and is shredding within... "haan, amma, arnav ji iss duniya ke sabse achhi pati hai" yes, amma, arnav ji is the best husband in the world.

he leaves. maybe because he is somewhere the best husband in the world.

sleep eludes him... a man with conscience suffers, his beloved's voice is in his mind, murmuring in him.

"arnav ji apno ka bahut khayal rakhte hain... aur doosron ki madat karte hain... jab hi hum aap sab ke baare mein sochkar thode dukhi hotey hain... toh aapko pata hai woh kitne pareshan ho jaate hain?... phir hamare chehre pe muskurahat laane ki jee tod koshi karenge..."

all the lies she tells, all that he really wanted to do for her.

"hum bahut khush hain.. ki tumhe itna accha pati mile..." i am very happy that you got such a good husband, says amma.

"haan, amma... arnav jo iss duniya ke..." yes, amma, arnav ji is this world's.

and he is up, breath ragged...

turns to look at her, she sleeps... the ultimate innocent, his heartbeat tripper, with whom his breath is one... yet this is what it has come to, a look of such keen guilt, what have i done to you...

Indi I love it so much⭐️...because this is one of my fav episode...

Yes love and agreed with this claustrophobic wild hungry wedding...this was and that was the beauty of it as Khushi said san swath main...because when you are close , you feel love, you share love and you adore the proximity to the core of your heart.

He adored dancing Khushi and can't resist her and just couple of minutes he yelled at her and that guilt washed away under Mama mani words of making his wife humiliated in front of every one..just like on Mun Dikhaye he jumped into the middle and now again...he couldn't resist and now he can't stay away from her but that Chot has surfaced up but his heart can't go along with that any more.Gussa is there but he doesn't want to damage her as he knows his all decisions and assumptions are wrong about her so far, that's why...go away I don't want to do anything which I will regret again.

Now here comes Amma who is watching and witnessing everything in between there...eik khalish ...and a mother's heart wants peace and my my my , her daughter delivered again but putting her heart at pedastel of pain and Dard to make her smile.Duniya key sab se ache pati witnessed again her state...and can feel how a pure heart without any guilt is sleeping soundly and her words are again cutting him , shaking him and at the top A MOTHER who is disturbed just seeing them like that, what will she go through after 6 months ...BIG QUESTION...and his unconscious is making him do what his conscious can't ...HOLDING HIS LOVE for forever...and he will never let her go even she will try to have any distance hue will make her come back to him...

His heart constricts with scorching pain for the girl, whom he abomiantes for having an affair with her brother in law, who told him to leave his wife, his di. feeling sad Sohara? Youa re making me sad too..

The air around him shuddered uncontrollably with intense, pure, unadulterated grief and undecipherable anger,. lovely heartfelt paragraph

Mama starts his taunt by looking at the small house, they were so annoying..

Inhaling sharply his abhorrence, she opens her quivering lips to retort, yes that look at so much loathing in it.. nafrat paas aane na de..

Crazy people if only they knew who the son in law really is.

Interesting thought I didn't realize the groom's family behaviour must also be making her sad. maybe if I was in her position I would have been only thinking about Arnavji. but then Khushi dose think about everyone.

I was wondering how he guessed. Like your interpretation.

Hi dear Sohara..am missing you on our active thread 25.. No gifs for this one? Very intense take on the episode.. you felt all the hurt and anger .. it shows in your writing..Lovely.. I hate misunderstandings too but surprisingly from IPK I learn to deal with fights better. Sometimes when am sad I end up singing aaj mausam hai suhana.. la la la la
I also read your take on 240. Just not done to have ASR fall in gobar 😡 . Was not remotely funny. And if it was about teaching a lesson I hope he does not learn that lesson. Could feel how much you were indignant on behalf of babua. Loved your description of the last scene. Such beautiful words.. bedazzled.. melancholy.. woe begone.. So much love and yet so much mis understanding.. haye re nand kishore..

And by the way why will my husband be worried about my swooning over Arnav.. Its all for you Sohara..Sab tumhare liye toh kar rahi hun.. mujhe koi farak nai parta.. samajhi tum.. hehehe..
