Today when Jalal was sitting in DEK and telling dialogues of love one of my neighb told me something that made me thinking. They said Akbar forgave Shivani because she was Jodha's sister and would not forgive if she was some other begum's sister.

Was jalal wrong in accusing Jodha of bewafai when he found a gair mard in her room?
Many will say yes, but i would like to say no. He did that because he loved her intensely. If Jalal had found a gair mard in Salima's room or even may be Ruqaiah's he would not have reacted as badly as he reacted to Jodha because he does not love them that much. With Ruqu he would be shocked as she is his childhood friend but he would not have reacted so voilently. With Salim he would not even bother and would have married her off to that gair mard. He reacted like that to Jodha because he loves her so much.
Was Jodha wrong in getting so angry?
Yes, she is right because no matter what she felt Jalal will trust her. Its like this if someone comes and tells anything against anyone to their family they will not trust even with proof if they love them to death. All of us expect the same from our parents, sibling, spouse and kids and even best friends. That is what jodha expected
Is Ruqaiah wrong in feeling jealous on Jodha?
No, she is right in being jealous.
Let me give an example: I have dogs at home. If i ask handshake from one the others immediately come and start handing me hand shakes immediately even if i do not ask. Is that jealousy? Yes but its also insecurity and unconditional love. That dog wants me to shower it with same attention and love as other dog.
Same is case of a family member. We want our father, mother, husband, wife, son, daughter, dadaji, dadima to shower us same amount of love as our other siblings(in this case wives)
Its Akbar's fault he should balance his act like a parent does with all his kids. Even among parents there is a favourite child but showing favouratism will destory family unity, siblings become deadly rivals, wars are fought like mahabharat, carnages like aurangzeb did to his siblings happen because of favouratism towards one child by parent. Majority wars are fought because one party feels the one in authority favoured another person unjustly which is majority times true also. The mess in Akbar's family among his wife is his own doing by favouratism towards one wife and her family members.
Why Akbar is so partial towards one wife and her family members while maintaining his law for others?
Also about Akbar's love lessons where they disappeared when it came to his own children? Like when Salim loved his childhood friend Nur Jahan or wanted to marry Sahib Jamal Akbar's milk brother's neice why oppose and not allow?? Or when Daniyal married a sati widow???
I am not saying only Akbar has dual standards. All of us are the same. When it comes to outsider we easily forgive but for own family do not forgive and set high standards for them. Today i am all for Shivani marrying Tejwant but if my sibling/child will do same some day i will not accept??? So its always double standards one for our family one for outsiders???
So do you think that Akbar would forgive if she was another begum's sister and give Tejwant a job???

Jalal actually reacted way worse wen he came to kno tat his concubine was in love wid someone else shown in the beginning. He was ready to behead them in an instant.

But wen it came to Jodha, Jalal actually controlled himself much more than he was capable of if u go by his usual standards set for his wives/mistresses.

I agree for Jodha feeling bad cos he s family and he suspected her. Y didnt she feel the same wen her own father insulted her in the same way wen she for midnight walks wid Suryaban? This I call as double standard!

Nur jahan was 6 years younger to Jehangir and was Akbar's minister's daughter. She would often accompany her father-mother to agra fort. So she would get ample oppt for Salim and her to meet often. Till age of 14 boys stayed in harem with mothers not in men quarters. Salim was 43 and Nur Jahan 36/37 when they married

myviewprem - Jalal and Jodha both are rt and both are wrong - the problem is that one has accepted his mistake while the other is refusing to.

Ruqs is rt yet not rt. - If what Jalal feels for her is different from what he feels for Jodha, that does not make one less and the other more - what can lessen the depth is the actions of the individual, which here is Ruqs - if she does not stoop to deliberately harming others whom Jalal has given importance in his life (which here is Jodha), then the relation between her and Jalal would be as meaningful and have depth - yes it would not be the same as his relation with Jodha becoz Jodha and Ruqs are two different people.

As for how Akbar handles his women - once the concerned woman has accepted to what she feels and what she wants in their relationship, only then can he address the balance.

Regarding Akbar's take on his sons relationships - I have read that Akbar too wanted Salim to be married to Mehrunissa - but due to a situation where he was pleased with Sher Afgan, Akbar offers him anything he asks for - and till then Akbar did not know what either Salim or Mehrunissa wanted - hence when Sher Afgan asked for the hand of Mehrunissa he agreed to the relation.

As for the Daniyal kissa - I do not have the facts of Daniyal's life yet, since I have not delved into them.

No ruqaiah is timurid princess humayun's youngest brother hindal's daughter (first cousin sister of Akbar)
Nur jahan was not from royal family they were persian immigrants to india commoners
But Nur jahan was maid in waiting for Ruqaiah from 1606-1611
Best contradiction from Jehangir aka Salim- he hated persians in court but fell in love with persian girlll. No wonder historians find him most intruiging mughal or emperor

Nurjehan was 8 years younger. And the marriage of Jehangir and Nurjehan happened in 1611, when Jehangir was 42 and Nurjehan was 34. But Nurjehan was brought to Agra as one of the ladies - in - waiting of Ruqs in 1606 -1607 after the death of Sher Afgan her husband.
