Look at it this way - he has taken the blow of betrayal from his most trusted advisor - the one he called Badi Ammi and loved unconditionally - and the punishment he gave her was clipping all her wings and making her a toothless - uss ke saamne Shivani ka gunaah bahut chota hai - then what punishment can he give Shivani?

For one she is 15 and a kid who acts before thinking - and this lack of maturity led her to elope thus shaming all - abb immaturity ko punish karke shd Jalal also show immaturity????

In this situation pardoning her made more sense even in a political way and from the Awaam perspective - He has made his image as one who does justice yet is benevolent and forgiving.

well as we all know both jalal & jodha had committed mistakes in this track. but both were immensely hurt in their own ways. maybe jalal wouldnt have reacted so aggressively if it was salima or any other begum but still he would have reacted strongly for sure. as per jodha goes even bharmal had called her a "kalank" & even HB also doubted her during fake pregnancy track. so either she loves jalal more than bharmal or HB or she is not ready to understand jalal's point of view. as per forgiving shivani goes, its not partiality its bcoz jalal's point of views had changed now. & today if it sum other begum's sister was there he would have forgiven them as well provided if they didnt intended to harm anyone. its not bcoz of jodha, its bcoz of his own credit & growth. besides wht punishment will he give to a 15 yr old girl??? agreed shivani had done wrong, but in 16th century love marriages were not a cake walk & especially if the boy is not from a royal family. as tejwant said basically they didnt had the strength to fight. yes wht i feel he should have clearly told shivani where she went wrong. forgiveness with sum strong words was needed.

No, I don't think its because Shivani was Jodha's sister. In the beginning, we remember Jalal almost beheading one of his concubines because she fell in love with another man. But the circumstances were different that time. Jalal did not know the meaning of love and believed that he did not have a heart. Also, he had not experienced the feeling of love then.

Now, however the scenario is completely different. Not only does Jalal have a heart, he also has an experience of being in love. He also knows how his life has become now that Jodha is not with him in this time of dire need. He understood Shivani's POV, merely because he knows that life is not worth living if you are not with the person you love! So, I don't feel that it was weak decision by him.

He punished MA not only because she took away the love of his life but also because she cheated him by misleading him. He trusted her blindly and she took advantage of this fact. Even though Ruqaiyya was partly involved in this conspiracy, he did not punish her.

I agree with the fact that he reacted violently with Jodha primarily because he loves her immensely. In the previous scenario with the concubine, I feel he wanted to behead her because he considered her discretion as his tauheen or betrayal. Since he didn't have a heart before, he wasn't in a position to analyse the dynamics of love. But now, he understands fully well what love is and how incomplete one is if the love of their life is not with them!

I feel the CVs showed this scene today to show us that how Jalal has changed from the cruel, ruthless, loveless emperor to a just, caring Shahenshah who wants to rule the hearts of his people!😳
