Chapter 4 - Smiles and Blushes

The next day.

"Khushi beta. You surely like Arnav?" asked Khushi's father, feeling extremely concerned about his daughter's life.

"Haan Dad. He's a nice guy" Khushi replied, suddenly an unknown feeling of possessiveness engulfing her.

Khushi's father gently moved his hand on his daughter's head lovingly and then went to his room. Khushi too went to her room.

The atmosphere was exactly the same in Raizada family, with Anjali too excited for her brother's approval for the marriage. There was a kind of happiness in the air. No doubt Arnav had accepted the marriage proposal by his own choice, but he had definitely not changed that much that he would be seated with his family and accompany them in their useless jokes! So he preferred to sit in his room, and work!

Arnav didn't knew what was happening to him, he was not able to concentrate. Whenever he tried to type something on his laptop, his mind was surrounded with gleeful images of Khushi. It was the very first time they met. Wish they could talk a bit more. Wish they could see each other a bit more. Just a few minutes. And that would've surely made Arnav happy. He looked at his phone, and wished he could call Khushi. But alas, he didn't had her number. Nor did she.

Reluctantly, he closed his laptop and leaned back on the recliner. Closing his eyes, which still had a fresh image of Khushi, he decided to relax himself. His eyes shot opened when he heard Anjali outside his room. He got up and opened the door, letting Anjali come inside.

"Chotte. Khushi and her parents are coming here in the evening. So you don't go to office today" Anjali instructed him, sounding authoritative.

"They are coming here?" Arnav tried to sound normal, while actually his heart had danced a few times.

"Ya Chotte. They want to meet the other members of the family" she replied.

"Okay Di"

"Vaise. If you are not busy, come down. We'll have tea together" Anjali asked him, hoping he would come along with her.

"Ya Di. I'm coming. Aap chalo" Arnav replied, smiling at her.

Anjali touched his cheek, and went downstairs. Arnav changed his clothes into casuals and went to accompany his family for a cup of tea.

In the evening.

The Raizada family welcomed Khushi, her parents and her brother, Ankit. They all sat in the living area, with Anjali introducing all the members of family to Khushi's family. While everyone was busy chatting, Khushi's eyes were busy searching for him. 'May be he is not at home' she assumed and wore a fake smile. Anjali noticed Khushi's curiosity and smiled inwardly. She signaled Aakash, and he got up from the couch.

"Khushiji. Ankit. Come. Lets sit in my room" he walked, taking Payal along with him, followed by Khushi and Ankit.

The four went up to his room. Just while entering inside the room, Khushi whispered in Ankit's ear, "Bhaiya. Ask him where is he?"

Ankit gave her an understanding nod, and moved inside. They sat on the bed, with Payal first starting a conversation with Khushi.

Arnav, by chance, entered Aakash's room to ask him for a file. He knew Khushi's family had arrived downstairs, but he preferred to finish his work within ten minutes and then go downstairs. As he entered Aakash's room, his gaze went and got fixed on Khushi. Though they had met the previous day only, but it gave them an unknown feeling now; like everything was perfect. Khushi slightly smiled looking at him, and got a similar smile in return.

"Bhai? You here?" Aakash asked him.

"Huh?" Arnav came out of his trance, and then looked at Aakash, "Actually I came here to ask for Khanna's file"

"Yeah Bhai. Just a minute" Aakash got up and gave the required file to his brother.

Arnav took the file, and turned to go. He looked back at Khushi, and gave her a 'I want to meet you' look. Khushi looked at her brother and then at Aakash with a hesitant look.

"Khushiji. Go. You don't need to be shy in front of us" Aakash said to her in a teasing tone, while Khushi looked down and got up to follow Arnav. She blushed and followed Arnav, to his room.

Arnav and Khushi got inside the room. Arnav moved forward towards the recliner and when he didn't find Khushi beside him, he turned back to look at her, only to find her admiring the whole room. The look that covered her face at that time; anyone could fall for it. Arnav moved towards her and clicked his fingers in front of her face.

"Its beautiful" Khushi whispered, looking out at the poolside, adoring the green plants, shining happily at them.

"How are you?" Arnav too whispered, making her look at him, with a quite confused look.

"I'm fine. In the same state as you left me yesterday" Khushi said and chuckled. Arnav's lips curved into a smile, seeing her innocence, mesmerised with her smile.

"Mr. Raizada. Do you work so much?" she asked him, noticing the stack of files lying on the table.

"Why do you call me Mr. Raizada? It seems as if you are addressing my grandfather" he replied, irritated by her calling him by his surname.

"But.. I.. I mean.." she stuttered and looked down, blushing. Arnav raised his eyes, and decided to give her time to become comfortable.

"Chalo. Lets go down. Everyone must be waiting for us" he said normally, and moved towards the door.

"Arnavji. Aap naraaz ho gaye?" [Arnavji. You're angry at me?] she asked and pouted.

"No Khushi. Why would I get angry? I just felt that you must be not comfortable in calling me by my name" Arnav said in a soft voice, "But see. You just called my name."

Khushi revived her sentence, and realised that she really called him by his name. Arnav smiled at her, and nodded at her cute innocence. He was about to get out of the room, when Khushi stopped him.

"Arnavji.. I..Can I.. Can I get your phone number? she asked him innocently, biting her lower lip.

Arnav couldn't hold back his smile this time, and said in a barely audible whisper, "Sure"

He spoke his number and she saved it in her mobile. Giving it a missed call, Khushi made sure that he too had her number. They both smiled widely at each other, and walked outside the room, downstairs. If somebody didn't knew that they are not married yet, they would've believed it by their faces. The bright pink colour that you get when you 'blush', is the most peculiar feeling to you, but the most beautiful feeling to the one who makes you blush!
