My dear Kunchu,
Though I am very late with this one - guests all over the house - I did not want to combine my comments on Chapter 11 with those on Chapter 12. So I amd going to read that only after I am done with this.
It is what I would call a developing chapter with certain strands emerging, but not fully, with a lot more to become clear in the future.
The first strand concerns the tapping of the video feed from the ETF office. I was always surprised that no one except Shree had evern thought to the possibility of a hostile mole, or at least someone who could burrow electronically into the ETF citadel, to explain how that video footage of Arjun screaming at his juniors ever reached the police higher ups.
But what I do not understand is how can either Shree, stuck far away in Kolkatta, or Arjun, no longer an insider in the police establishment, hope to follow this clue and find out WHO did that. It intrigues me, for it they are not going to get anywhere along that road, why bring that clue in at all?
The second is about Kiran, who is now, as I wrote about an earlier chapter, beginning to face the inner demons he had long buried deep within himself. His love for his child is profound and unsullied by anything negative, and this will soon become his Achilles heel, as Sikandar (Rahul Dev is an excellent choice for him; I was impressed his villain in Aa Dekhen Zara, a fantasy about a camera that shoots the future 24 hours ahead) starts exploiting this weakness of Kiran's. He has in fact already started.
Again, as I had written before, the ghost of Kiran's old, clean self will also resurface at the same time, and that will lead to his hating himself and what he has become. That is bound to affect his readiness to carry out dirty tasks for Sikandar as he used to before. I do not see Sikandar taking that sort of thing lightly. We shall see.
Right now, Sikandar's exchanges with his henchmen reminds me of Gabbar Singk and Kaalia & Co. in Sholay. Gabbar Singh's favourite line was Ab aayega mazaa! Much like Sikandar's.
One question. Why does Sikandar say that Kiran and her killed Roshni together? I had assumed till now that Kiran was then merely a horrified onlooker. Was he an active participant? If so, there is no redemption for him at all, and Arjun will surely remember his face and get after him as soon as he catches sight of him.
I loved the lively exchanges between Anjali and Shree, and their waxing eloquent about the superiorities of their lappies. Poor Shree, he had no one in the ETF tech-savvy enough to be able to discuss electronic hardware and software with a zeal and a knowledgeability to match his own, so no wonder he is so delighted with Anjali!
