It doesn't have to be money as such. Some times we fast. That is also a kind of barter where you give up you food.

Lol ... will people listen? Why do you think all temples ... and churches for that matter ... are among the richest institutions in the world? Because people give money in exchange for God's blessings.
All temples and churches have donation boxes exactly for that purpose. And every single worshipper donates ... whether it be a token, or a large amount ... but they all do.The poor pandit didn't realise that Paro would take him literally ... he was probably hoping for a cash gift ... maybe some gold or diamonds ... even a piece of land if he was really lucky ... all in the name of the temple, of course!!! š
donot know why i felt your post offensive š
we donot offer money to god for blessing but we believe that money will be used for good things, ...
we offer something to god in believe that he did alot for us with asking or without asking then why cannot we do something for him going out of our comfortable level
that is what i believe as offering...
there are difference some people feel happy in donation that you cannot mock
but feeling that if you donot offer god something he will punish you is called foolishness and giving away your life or love feeling god is asking to give him what he gave us is called foolishness
and that is what RR CVs are showing and i feel really worst of CVs
as some one said paro is illiterate but CVs are not ... they are making mockery of everythingš”
sorry to be rude
true buddy , donating money is not a bad thingwhen i got my first salary my mo wanted me to transfer a part of it to her so that she can donate it in temples , that was not for anything as suchand some temples do take up good social work which are religiously approvedanything that makes you feel connected to god in any small way cannot be badbut i think what the TM means is sometimes pandits do take benefit of this , like when i do it , it is goodsome one telling me to sacrifice something valuable i dont think anything of that sort is written in any ved puranayeeah sacrific materialstic pleasure and grihastashram is written , but that is a long way after you have completeg grihastashashramso i feel it was just the pandit asking for a donationon a seroius note cvs cpuld have avoided it

Watch a movie called Oh My God with Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar ... it makes the same point that I have made above. I make no apologies for this ... this is fact. Some temples and churches do good work with the money ... all don't.@bold ... God needs money?š²Can we not thank God by doing something in kind? Like the kar seva that Sikhs do at gurudwaras? That makes far more sense to me than donating money ... devotees donate their time and their efforts. THAT is going out of your comfort zone ... not just giving money.
