wrong message to women?

All YHMians,

If the whole Parmeet track is to send a message to all us women out there, to stand up for ourselves no matter what and to speak up against the perpetrator of such a horrendous crime, they why do they want to show that Ishu's family doesn't believe in her?

I mean, most women who face such horrible situations - esp. when a family member is involved find it so hard to speak up. In India, in most cases even though it is the man committing a sexual crime, the woman is held at fault. After such an incident, the victim is looked at differently by the society especially in Indian villages where there is a lack of education.

I cannot tolerate that kind of society that always favors the male - and if these serials have to convey some message to women to speak up - they should show that if they DID people around them will trust them and it won't be so hard on them and it will make them feel better.

If they show the women folk in the family disbelieving the victim, how is that encouraging women to speak up. The victims have suffered at the hands of a rapist, and the least they can expect is support from family.

I understand this is a drama, but they should really have shown (at least toshiji) believing in Ishita. To maintain a story line, they could have shown toshi's trust in Ishita in private or some such thing.

And now to think that they are going to throw her out of the house - women who get influenced by TV are not being given the right message. They should be taught again and again that if they speak up against such men, they will have full support of people around them...It's one thing to produce "proof" but there should be an implicit trust in the victim at the very least if the family knows the victim to be credible! ..

What you guys think?

Thats reality. We will have to see how the track ends. This definitely is a strong and amazing message to women. Look at ishita man! Hats off! Thats reality, families dont believe. Thats how it is in India. Daamaads are another name for God! -_-
They will all realise, we only have to wait and watch

They dont believe her but that still doesnt keep her from raising her voice and fighting for herself!

Agree with your post. It is in fact sending out a very wrong message to women, especially victims of sexual assault who keep quite thinking of the family and society. However, is a sad fact that there are people in India, like Toshiji and Simmi.

YHM had been so different till date. Vandu-Ishu conversation was the highlight for today's episode apart from the little Ishra phone call. That's the only positive part giving at least a bit of strength to a victim to voice out her issue.

However, Saa..d that Ektaa cannot leave out melodrama and torture of the lead, out of her serials. But, whatever be it, a woman has to stand up for her rights and dignity, even if she ends up alone in her fight. Never give up and let perverts like this win. Keep fighting till truth wins out.

You are right. I am just hoping that this issue is solved in a right way. I know not everybody is brave as ishita, they put up with sexual harassment out of fear.

Well I guess this is the right message. To stand up against sexual abuse & speak up however difficult the situation might be. 😃

I think they want to show that even if other family members don't believe you, such as in the case of Ishita, you should stay strong for what you believe in and your husband should support you.

I am hoping that Raman stands by Ishita in this parmeet track.

Well, this is not a wrong message as it is what actually happen in our society. But, yeah for encouraging women, fictional situation could be shown. But, remember one thing, this fictional scenario won't give the courage for women to fight in reality. So, I guess it's better to show the real strength of women by portraying it through Ishita. Women will find courage to fight for her ownselves...because women are not week.

They are giving a good message to women as this is moderate case here that only In-Laws are not trusting there are cases where even family members also abandon there girls because of society ,these things happened to show a positive and strong lead is good to show the victims that no one else will fight for you , You have to stop them and fight for your dignity without anyone's help.
I want few things to be covered by CVs -
1. Ishita realizes Sarika as she didn't take a stand Ishita became a victim. If you are taking a stand for yourself ,You are unknowingly helping a lot of other future victims.

2. Toshiji uses her mind and inform or investigate by herself that If phone was at home How come Ishita messaged Parmeet (As per Spoilers).

3. I want Ishita to fight her own fight and Raman helped her Rather then Raman fought from her side. I want him, Bala, Mihir, Mr. Iyer even Mr Bhalla to be the support system not the leaders.I want her to start the Journey to stop this abuse (which she already did) and during her journey they can join her giving all support which she needs.

4. I disapprove a Slap from Simmy If this is coming as per spoilers. I want anyone to stop her in her way that may be Raman, Mr. Bhalla or maybe Toshi ji . If no one is slapping Parmeet for Ishita's accusations then Why slap on Ishita on Parmeet's accusation??? It's wise to keep both of them in a Grey area and investigate at your own way.
